I believe the thinking is that NoSB is also relevant against a wider range of decks. There are a lot of value 2/1s out there. I've actually had no experience with it although I was going to try to work one into my Budget BG sideboard this week but I couldn't make it to the shop.
Looks like people should be playing GR tron at the next one. Or alternatively maybe storm or scapeshift? Beat up on the tron decks that will come out in force + BG?
Wow, no Pod? I always thought that the deck was a bit overrated vs. top Tier decks (but amazing vs. lower decks), but I would at least expect 2-3 of them in the top 16. Also, only 1 Twin and 1 Affinity. That really surprises me too. It looks like BGx smashed this tournament. (I remember reading in Shmanka's thread that Aaron Forsythe is considering bringing Bloodbraid Elf back too.) Also only 1 UWR and it being Midrange.
This really is an odd top 16 to me. Is there any way to see what percentage of the meta was GB/Jund/Junk or GBx? That is my only complaint however, as the rest of the top 16 looks very diverse to me (although I would love to see a Griselbrand Reanimator or Amulet Combo deck in there too).

Well not legacy. Not that i care to watch legacy, but sumdays weekly stream is their turf. I dont want to take it. But anyone can watch standard whenver. Just do an off on week things and switch from standard to modern bi week.
Agreed. It's not like there is much innovation in Standard anyway. Unless you count going down to three Pack Rats or adding Blood Baron of Vizkopa as innovation.

I completely agree with this, but with Standard being their "little precious child," I doubt they will do this.

That's what I said about BGx a few weeks ago but obviously no one has done it yet, maybe BG is slowly solving that matchup. Fulminator mage + tec edge + saving your discard till they almost have all their mana set up seems like it could work.
The Dredgevine list is pretty interesting. I'd like to see it become a competitive deck. One result doesn't say much at all, but it's still pretty sweet to see it put up results.
:/ I hope its just the player base of the circuit but all this BGx every week bodes badly for modern as a format.
Tron will rear up soon enough to prey on BGx. Just needs some good pilots behind it.
This is what I was thinking. I figured our local PTQ would be crawling with BGx decks. Unfortunately I found that to be wrong, although I did notice a larger amount of Tron than normal. Here's what I faced in 8 rounds - 2 Mono Blue Tron, 1 GR Tron, 2 UR Twin, 1 BG, 1 Kiki Pod, and 1 Storm.

Against LS Illness in the Ranks seems strictly better, and is good also against pure combo Twin decks.

Thanks, I hope we get to see more randomish stuff out of these things like we did this week. Although, hopefully with a lot less jund.

Depends entirely on whether they feel there's enough of a demand to warrant streaming it over Legacy.
I think almost everyone would be happy with replacing the Standard stream on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's not the schedule they've chosen.
Standard: I, for one, welcome our new rhinoceros overlords
Modern: Pod's dead, Bob's back.
Legacy: Lands, Deathblade, Death and Taxes, Elves, MUD
Retired Legacy: Merfolk, Goblins, Jund, Delver, Reanimator
I completely agree with this, but with Standard being their "little precious child," I doubt they will do this.
