Of the cards spoiled tonight, there is one (Russian) land that reads:
"Blighted Crossroads"
{T}: add {C}
{T}, pay 1 life: add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Use this mana only to cast spells with devoid.
This seems like might wanna be included in here, regardless of what colors you choose for the deck.
I don't know that we're casting enough spells with devoid to make that worthwhile. It misses so many non devoid coloured spells
Put together the BR version and going to be taking it to a local event tomorrow night. Did some testing with a friend playing Merfolk and it feels like we never ever beat spreading seas unfortunately ;p Actuslly trying out sulphurous springs in the black leave slot as I find we don't need coloured mana so much that the life hit becomes an issue with all the basics/fetches/blood crypts while gold fishing I feel like black cleave came into play tapped way too often in a deck that needs to get to 4-6 lands to start getting silly. If the pain becomes an issue I'll probably experiment with dragon skull summit or something else, but I'm pretty unhappy with how often your 4th or 5th land ends up coming in tapped in the stock list while a blight herder just rots in hand
Burn, affinity and tron make me sad. I feel like I need a better board against them. I want languish to be awesome, but it feels way to slow. What do you guys do against the aggro decks?

I think the listed version with 4 bala geds, 4 ulamogs is biased way too far up the mana curve and you're going to have cards rot in hand way too often. Heartless summoning is also bad in a deck that can expedition map for Eldrazi temple if that's the route we wanted to go (which I think it isn't). Interesting to see the different ways people are exploring the archetype though
Playing additional 7 mana cards comes with a very real downside, which is having them in your hand before you're able to cast them. The effect is nowhere near powerful enough to justify jacking up the curve any more than it already is. Ulamog and Oblivion sower can win games on their own, we don't need more finishers let alone ones you need to untap with that die to a lot of the removal in the format
Bane of bala ged is interesting. I'd hate to pay 7 mana for something that dies to dismember and roast. BUT if you untap with it the payoff is huge.
That was what happened to me. No removal for it. The deck would die horribly to aggro, but it was interesting that if you were not ready to do 5 dmg or have a destroy target creature effect Bala Ged will just take over the game.

Playing high cost Eldrazis (7 or more)requires a different build than people are playing here. That is why there is a version playing Heartless Summoning. Of course playing Heartless Summoning cuts Blight Herder but allows other Eldrazis. I know that Oblivion Sower and Ulamog Ceaseless Hunger are enough to finish but depends of the build you are playing. And somehow it's really difficult to focus in one single version mana base since people are running , , , here.
Running that kind of Eldrazis let us play Kozilek's Return that is coming next set. It is an instant speed colorless Pyroclasm that clear early board but it shines when you cast your 7 or more mana Eldrazi because the exile effect that deals 5 colorless damage is an ability. So you are not casting it and since it is an ability it's very hard to counter (trickbind). At the end you will have most of the time an empty board with a huge eldrazi. And you don't need to worry since Kozilek's Return will clean the board before your eldrazi enters the field.
What do you think about Ashiok and the deathtouch Eldrazi in your build? How good they are working or they are stucking in some games? I don't think 3 colors are impossible but for my experience in this deck I think It's a little greed mana some times.
Ashiok has been kind of underwhelming actually. I thought he would just be awesome, but turn 3 is so critical in modern and he just isn't doing awesome things. Maybe move to the board or just out.
Fathom feeder has been useful. He gets stuff into the yard or into exile. The only problem is his casting cost. It is a bit harsh in a 3 color deck as getting UB or GB is easy, both at the same time can be hard. But realistically he chumps most of the field really easily and no one wants to block him. Late game the draw has been useful in a few games.
when I lose games it is due to fast decks and not finding removal, decks that go over midrange decks or just getting land screwed in general. I think a couple Sylvan scryings might be better than Ashiok to help with fixing and finding key lands we need. I like the blue though because it opens up some counters from the board. I have been debating negate vs mana leak. I am shifting towards leak because later in the game we just become a huge powerhouse and early plays are where we die.

Went 2-2 tonight. Game 1 beat Jund, I actually think we can jund out jund. Killed everything, went to top decks, he's getting scavenging oozes and tarmogoyf so with no yard, I'm getting 5/8s, 4/5s with swarms of 1/1s, and eventually ulamog. Lost game one where I ran out of removal and a raging ravine went crazy, but 2 and 3 I just went way over the top of him. Game 3 he mulled to five with didn't help either. Match 2 was UWR control. Path is horrible against us, lightning bolt and electrolyze don't do enough to most of our creatures, and there's no clock so eventually every turn we drop eldrazi and just wear them down. Game 2 got to tons of land in play, eye of Ugin just finding a new eldrazi each turn, two ulamogs casted back to back and my opponent with one land in play. "Playing against that deck is almost as soul crushing as Tron".
Runs 3 and 4 were infect and GR Tron. After sideboard I kept a hand with 2 Thoughtseize and a crumble, and two eldrazi temples. If I hit coloured lands before turn 3 no way we don't win this match. Never hit the coloured land though and Tron did Tron things.
I think this deck is real and needs some tweaking, but I'm really impressed with it so far
Thanks for the report! I think this deck is real too. We out midrange jund, make a lot of GY strats very sad and can become very explosive late game. That being said, our early game is not great, and GR Tron is basically built to destroy us. Post your deck!
For infect, we have to kill their creatures on site or drop spellskite. This is what I am doing with my board right now:
Chalice and Spellskite are great against burn and infect. Decent against boggles too. Against infect if you can kill one of their infect creatures followed by surgical extraction it can really mess up their game.
Affinity is tough, but I am banking on removal and creeping to get me through.

I guess the Talisman of Dominance cycle is good for fixing. Also helps accelerate to turn 3 Blightherder or turn 4 Oblivion Sower.
Edit: The monoblack version uses Mind Stone, which is a lot better. You may consider that as well if your multicolor version has better mana. You may go down to 22 lands as well.
Sulfurous spring is great. I took maybe one damage off it tonight, and we really don't want our 4th, 5th, or 6th land coming in tapped. I think sulfurous spring over black cleave is correct.
8 discard feels correct. It's good to have more discard to side in in the matchups were our removal comes out, and duress hits more of the things we're worried about than IoK. I'm scared of spells when I'm siding in discard, there's almost no 3 mana or less creature I feel I care about when we have 9 mainboard removal and 2 board wipes. Speaking of board wipes;
Never casted languish or all is dust. I think two mainboard wipes is correct for how slow we are though.
Go for the throat is good but I think I'm screwed game 1 against affinity and ink moth nexus was a problem against infect. I want to try terminate but I worry about the mana with 6 colourless sources.
I also think 2x Urborg and eye is correct. There is a chance you get stuck drawing two copies, but honestly both lands are so powerful to our game plan that we want two each I think. It's not a utility land that's nice to have, it's lands that ramp our eldrazi out faster, give us late game inevitability, or in urborgs case let us use our opponents fetch lands we steal off sower. If they weren't legendary they'd be automatic 4 ofs.
Kolaghans command I never saw. I needed something to fill the 59th spot and it seemed good in the long attrition games, can hit ink moth, I don't know if we really need it though.
I was actually thinking about going up to 24 lands. I've had some bad draws, but I think 23 is correct. I might drop some blue source down for some land hate. I hate tron so very much. Also another picture I had to share, because turn 5 ulamog is gross:

Yeah Tron is tough because they just get to our end game faster than we do. I think we're favoured in the same matchups as them though, and we have better combo and aggro matchups by way of interacting more than they do.
My opponent hit turn 3 Tron both games, like I said, Tron doing Tron things
But how on earth did the tron player get a basic swamp???
Mono black Tron. Not nearly as good as RG Tron. No wurmcoils or Karn as far as I could see. I won 2-1, lost the first game to hard emrakul cast. 2nd and 3rd games were won by Ulamog exiling Tron lands.
Honestly the best defense I have figured out against Tron is mana leak. Even crumble might be too slow. On the play we need to get to turn 4, but Karn hits turn 3, which is just painful.

Oh i see, i think i saw Travis Woo make a video with that deck on channelfireball a while ago.
For tron i just pack a pair of pithing needles and ghost quarters, although i'm not even sure gq is worth it. They'll draw their tron eventually, with all the turoring they have we only delay the inevitable while slowing ourselves down by giving up a land. Needle, on the other hand, seems great because we can see their hand with discard spells and know what to name. We can also find it with ancient stirrings. It also is decent vs affinity, which apparently isn't easy. I never played vs these decks but i can see tron being a problem.
Went 2-2 today (actually 1-3, i conceded to my opponent after beating him, he was 1-1 and i was 0-2 and couldn't win anything). I lost to grixis delver due to flooding without any big guys to play and being stuck on two lands for most of game two. I was a bit tilted and lost to gifts due to numerous very bad plays. I then beat twin thanks to information from discard spells allowing me to tap out for my threats and seal of primordium game two also allowing me to tap out for my things. Seal is an awesome magic card and i recommend it to anyone playing green. Round four i beat a g/b "stuff" deck that played ramp and big stuff like garruk, apex predator. Didn't see much of the deck, my opponent had all sort of six-seven drops and never got to 6 mana.
I still feel good about the deck. Ooze is very mana hungry but also very rewarding. The mana is not perfect but i think with 23 lands i can't really improve it. Still it works most of the times. I only lost one game due to man screw vs the grixis delver opponent and i had only two lands anyways so not much i could have done...
I just took the deck went 2 and 2. I crumbled a valakut and I got doubled slaughter games of my Sower and herder I was a sad player after. Also trying to go over R/G tron seems impossible with this deck unless oath drops something to work with.

i noticed that too. Blackcleave Cliffs as the 4th land has killed me on multiple occasions.
And yes play 1 Ghost Quarter main.
It jammed 4x Bane of Bala Ged, 4x Ulamog, 4x oblivion sowers, 4x heartless summoning and 4x Oblivion Sower. I saw no removal what so ever, but it just was brutal if you couldn't kill it quickly.
That was what happened to me. No removal for it. The deck would die horribly to aggro, but it was interesting that if you were not ready to do 5 dmg or have a destroy target creature effect Bala Ged will just take over the game.
Heartless Summoning lets Spellskite for free, Oblivion Sower for only 2 mana with Eye of Ugin. Running cost 7 or more Eldrazis lets to play Sanctum of Ugin. But as I said this build is very different that what we are playing or at least of what people are testing.
Running that kind of Eldrazis let us play Kozilek's Return that is coming next set.
