Are people still seriously dense enough to say that enemy fetches won't be in the set? We were explicitly told that Wizards will not be doing half-cycles of lands in block sets. We got the allied fetches in Khans, couple Wizards' statement with other hints, the enemy fetches will be in Dragons. You have to be a complete idiot to believe otherwise.
so much salt... can we get a little cinnamon for a change pls?
ok we got the general idea: wizards sucks, modern sucks, podcast sucks, the participants sucks, blue sucks, laguage barrier sucks too
anyone has anything positive to say? i'd really like to read it now, thanks
Bill: you're the one that championed URx was still viable.
I guess you are feeling pretty silly now uh? They didn't even bother mentioning it all.
/facepalm?
have you seen many players playing reactive decks in an unknown meta?
URx IS viable, but first you need to know what the other guys play?
and viable and T1 are 2 different things
as long as snap and bolt are legal URx will always be viable
And yet no one is playing it *bird chirps*.
Also: the meta is not unknown. Not to these pros. I'm pretty sure people that can rent a house for a weekend and play test... can figure out the meta.
EDIT: The fact that "Goryo's Blue" is listed as a combo deck worth showcasing does not suggest anything positive about the commentator's Modern knowledge (or agenda).
Idk why people can't just call tron a control deck. Every card is about controlling the board via boardwipe/spot removal or ramping.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.

Because it plays like a combo deck. Try desperately not to die until it casts the game ender.
I think when people talk about control they mean answering the opponents threats, building up card advantage, then winning.

It's too early to draw any conclusions, but this argument would obviously fall flat if BGx(or Mardu) do well since their gameplan is simliar to URx and they also need to adjust to an "unknown" meta.

I don't call Tron a control deck because it skips the whole "interact with your opponent to stabilise" stage of the game to assemble a combo of lands and go straight into "cast finishers" stage. It can have the boardstate of a control deck on turn 10... by turn 4, that's how it wins, not by slowing down its opponent.
Its a 3 card combo- powerplant, mine, tower assembling 3 cards for mana is not ramp. If they were trying to get plenty of lands to get to 6+ lands by t3 I think everyone would agree its ramp but looking for 3 specific cards is combo.

Marshall Sutcliffe has a handsome 5 o'clock shadow?
Edit: I also like this sky cam look at the floor, this is the first PT where we get to see the floor while they give the update like this?

On a side note: I hope I am wrong but after seeing the coverage thusfar... I don't even know if a URx deck would make day 2.
Just saw an amazing X-Files episode, Nisei.

Decks I'm playing in Modern right now:
URB Grixis Reveler (http://www.mtgvault.com/supast4r7/decks/modern-grixis-reveler/)
UB Faeries (http://www.mtgvault.com/supast4r7/decks/ub-fae-2/)
UW Azorious Control (http://www.mtgvault.com/supast4r7/decks/modern-ojutai-control-2/)
