This is a good reason why blood moon is great for the format. It helps police alot of the broken stuff. Honestly i think wasteland would be fine in modern and would help the single color decks and punish the super greedy ones. I wish they would print it but it aint gonna happen.
Maybe a 1C Tap to destroy nonbasic. So halfway between wasteland and Tec Edge. Strictly worse than wasteland so it shouldnt mess with legacy or reserved list.
Totally agree. Modern's mana bases are just a bit too good I think. Although I guess the counter-argument would be that a new avenue of attack would push the format more towards linearity and away from interactiveness. Still, there should be a way to punish the greedy decks other than just Blood moon.
Infect would never survive as a tier 2+ deck without inkmoth. Inkmoth surviving abrupt decay and all sorcery speed removal is literally the only thing that makes the deck competitive.
No it's not. Infect mainly wins with instant-speed interaction, like Vines of Vastwood, Apostle's Blessing, Spell Pierce, Spellskite's activation... these cards are here to protect the Elf and the Agent. And it's as important as a Nexus could be in the tough MUs.
Collateral damage, and that may actually be the best argument in its defense, it would possibly be replaced by 4 creature slots, which would cut 4 spells (at least, it would be tough to choose what kind of adjustment to do). This could make the deck too inconsistent, in the style of Goryo's Vengeance.
It would likely kill (or severely neuter) affinity as well since the infect combo-kill is one of the ways it hangs with unfair decks.
As you say, it's one of the ways, and it should be enough to counter your own argument. Affinity attacks on so many angles that losing one wouldn't neuter or kill the deck at all.
Affinity players would lose a very cumfortable way to kill by Turn 3, and lose a way to unfairly attack with so many different lethal combinations in one single swing that no opponent can survive unless they have Fracturing Gust.
Collateral damage would be the fact that it's an artifact when activated, while a replacement like Mutavault wouldn't play well with the synergy of the deck. Once again it could be the best argument in its defense.
We're talking about a Tier 1 deck that arguably never fell off its chair since its birth, and that require the most hateful sideboard cards in multiple copies to balance its performances in competition.
Now I'm not 100% for the ban of the card, I think I've been misunderstood. I said I'd be excited, because Affinity and Infect have options and can adapt, and I enjoy playing with and against these decks. However, the T3 kill is never something that brings me joy when I play the deck. I just feel sorry for my opponent. That feeling is the same with the T1-2 kill by Storm in Legacy.

No changes was the only logical choice. There was nothing to unban and banning something would have been worse.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

I didn't even know there was an update today, as there's nothing glaringly broken in the format that made me want something to get banned. Which is surprising, because at every updated I wanted something unbanned and maybe something banned.
Now that AV and sword are unbanned there's pretty much nothing to unban left.

Modern is really good atm, but there is one card that have to go. That card is become immense. Suicide zoo and Infect kill on turn 3 way to often, with this cards beeing the biggest offender.

There is, Burn is the deck that punishes fetch shock. I really don't think we need something else to make 3 color decks unplayable. Cards that lock people out easily don't make for good games of magic. The only deck I can think of that needs to be punished for its manabase is Tron and even then it has enough of its own weaknesses that its unnecessary.
The 5 words I wanted to see today. This is the 2nd update in a row that I am 100% on board with.

Go start some discussion over in the new thread here. I took over for Ktken while he's away on vacation, so if for some reason I butchered his usual work I'm sure he'll fix it when he comes back. Cheers!
This is going to be getting archived now. So long Eldrazi!

This is good. The format is in a pretty good place right now.
I wonder if the same will be said in september once people have had a chance to brew with some of the fancy new Eldritch Moon spells.
