What cards do you want BANNED in Modern? - Multiple Choice

Quote from gkourou »Storm is gearing for Tier 1. Now, I don't think it's going to be Tier 1, but I do believe the deck may go up to the higher Tier 2 brackets. Cheerios is a potential higher Tier 2 contender as well. Infect/UR Prowess were solid Tier 1 decks, and they will get Preordain as well. I would welcome the card, but I think there is a low chance that Wizards would consider unbanning it. I believe they would feel that a Preordain unban would undo the Gitaxian Probe banning's action up to a point(not fully, because Preordain can't override bluffs). But the same decks will get the card, get stronger again and pick up Modern's pace for yet anothet time.
(being Devil's advocate here)

Ehrmagersh, a new deck is doing well. Breakz out de banhammerz!

If you read it, you should understand the fundamental problem of that card in Modern.
Quote from Kathal »The thing is, that a Stoneforge Unban attacks the fair aggro decks, be it Zoo, Burn, Meerfolk, Goblins, or co. However, it is a far worse card vs combo (but in some very special cases). This leads to his statement, that a Stoneforge unban would push back fair aggro decks while buffing the non-interacting and not fair aggro/combo decks (old DSZ, ADN, Infect, Dredge, Griselbanned, UR Strom,...) which give a poop about SFM and Skull.
That is the real problem of the card and nothing else.

I will not be replying to rebuttals that are not at least as fleshed out as my assertion. If you're grown up enough to use the internet, you are grown up enough to understand that posturing, nit picking, and corner cases are not enough to constitute a rebuttal to an argument. You will attack my argument in full or you will not be getting a response from me.
Quote from wpgstevo »The only aggro deck that is significantly worse against abzan with sfm than abzan without sfm is burn (according to modernnexus testing), so that's not really an accurate argument.
Quote from Kryptnyt »Unleash Skullclamp's terrors upon the unsuspecting fools and make Modern great again
Really though, there's no reason for Jitte to be banned with Stoneforge banned. It's a very slow card for the format that requires creatures.
As for bans, I think that Chalice of the Void is just so backbreaking against the field sometimes that it seems too good. There are more focused sideboard options for every scenario, whether it be monored, or storm, or just some happy white weenie deck, but Chalice just seems to be a tactical sideboard nuke. A lot of decks don't even have answers for it, or have to replicate Shattering Spree to get rid of it, or something. I don't think banning Chalice would make any of the decks it checks too powerful, even if they would end up more popular, since you'd still find sideboard options for those decks.
Quote from Kryptnyt »Bad decks don't need to be exploited honestly.

That is most certainly not a factor in banning decisions!
