In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
I like the Idea of this deck and I could imagine to built it for me aswell. A replacement for Ideas Unbound could be Wild Guess, The Advantage is you can put Protean Hulk into your grave without getting too much cards in the grave. You do it immediately not at end of turn, so because Footsteps of the goryo is sorcery speed you could still do that in the same turn if you have the mana for it. And RR is easier to get thann UU. Disadvantage you only get 2 cards instead of 3. Also considering Raven's Crime, targeting yourself to discard Hulk or disrupting your enemy and can be played from the grave via retrace so u can also dump it with Looting effects and still can profit from it.
This brings me to the question if it is possible to speed up the whole thing a bit, would it be possible? you could for example win T2 if you have the right hand and use things like Chrome Mox or Simian Spirit Guide.
After some goldfishing with this deck the Idea of speeding it up is not that good. The way with disruption seems better because you have some protection for your combo. The deck seems relatively consistent to win in turn 3-6(only in a Vacuum).

Another benefit of Wild Guess is that the discard is part of the cost so it can't be countered. Also, Chrome Mox is unfortunately banned in Modern.
Oh yeah forgot about Chrome Mox ^^ but anyway, I think the route of speeding the deck up isn't worth it, because it happens too rarely. I tested the deck with Wild Guess and I saw a problem: You need to have Protean Hulk in your hand to profit from Wild Guess. So I tried to figure out a way to get around this problem, so I tried a built with Gifts Ungiven.
Gifts Ungiven is really nice to make tricks to get your combo working. If you have Footsteps of the Goryo in your hand you get Protean Hulk into your grave at end of turn and go off the next turn, secured with Duress or Raven's Crime. Also Raven's Crime is nice to discard Hulk when you target yourself, and it can be cast from your graveyard because of retrace ability.

You should be running at least 1 Snapcaster Mage to make Gifts Ungiven piles with Footsteps and Hulk.
This is why I run Noxious Revival and Dimir Machinations, I can guarantee to get both combo pieces where i want them! It may cost you 1 turn more but you get where you want =) they can still put Snapcaster Mage into the grave where he doesn't do anything so I'm not sure about him. Also Faithless looting already has flashback and I think 8x Faithless Looting+ 3x Izzet Charm+ 3x Dimir Charm+ 3x Gifts Ungiven should work just fine I think...why play snapcaster if I can have just Looting effects instead? Or are there any tricks which I just don't see/know?

The problem with the hedron crab combo is you don't win on the spot, because he needs to draw a card before he loses. The reveillark kill is more safe I think. Also you can't win with Crab combo when enemy has Emrakul in his library(which is possible). Also You can't draw any of your combo pieces or you will have trouble to mill enough cards.

@ RogueOS
Actually I thought the same so that's why I'm ging on the tournament with my list above.
I tried it in some play testing against BUG and Living End and it worked just fine. BUG I'd say is presideboard a slightly favorable matchup (would say 55%), if you can Duress their counters. So going of as fast as possible isn't recommended. But in all my testings it showed me that I got a turn 3 kill in like 40% of the games which impressed me very much. Living End was no problem at all, think I won about 75% of the matches.
Heading to my sideboard I wanted to run something like this:
3x Nature's Claim
1x Reclaim
2x Chalice of the Void
2x Pact of Negation
3x Steel Sabotage
2x Echoing Truth
2x Pithing Needle
so there would be 1 Flexslot and I am not sure what to do there.... maybe I need some Aether Spellbomb for Iona, Shield of Emeria, and maybe I should get some Silence to protect combo turn. So maybe I'll drop Steel Sabotage to get 4 Slots free to make some of these changes. What do you think what I could run?? Also I think I don't need to be scared of something with graveyard combo because my deck should be faster or am I wrong with that?

Here is a quick list I just threw together at lunch. Haven't tested it yet but I plan on putting it together on MTGO and making adjustments from there. I think the biggest change will likely be in the mana base. It's simple and may actually work though.
Initial thoughts is that Thoughtseize is probably better than Duress but I don't think game 1 we really care about anything other than getting through our combo. Maybe Ooze but both charms can take care of him. Second is that Mana Confluence is just better but really I don't think it'll be too relevant. And finally I think Nature's Claim is the best anti hate card as it deals with everything Leyline, RIP, Cage except Ooze but again Charms, and Bolts and Smothers can deal with that.
Again this is all off the top of the head without any games in.
Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.
First I'm sorry because I couldn't participate in the tournament because I had no time, so no tournament report =(
Well nice list but I think Desperate Ravings is not an optimal card in this deck. What if you randomly discard your Footsteps instead of something you want to discard? Maybe Wild Guess does a better job here?!
Also the 1 Reveillark is a bit risky I think because sometimes it happened to me that I drew it and couldn't combo off till I got it into the grave, thats why I run 2 of it. The thing we have to look out G1 is to play around some "random" removal killing Viscera Seer. I absolutely agree with Nature's Claim it deals with everything which shuts our combo off, but I also think Echoing truth is very useful, because sometimes they draw double hatecards and you just need to get them gone ET is the deal I think

I do agree with you on Desperate Ravings. The card has been extremely lackluster, and I'll probably give Wild Guess a shot instead of it. I also haven't really liked Dimir Charm. It hasn't exactly been bad, but it just hasn't ever been something I've wanted. Although there have been a few times where I've been able to use it to drop Hulk into the yard and Footsteps on top.
About the killing of Seer, Shaheen Soorani pointed out a way to get around it by getting Seer and Body Double, then doing the same thing. That way you have out two Seers and they have to have double removal in order to stop the combo. Bumping up to 2 copies of Revillark is probably a good idea as well. Worst case you draw it and can slam it down as a beater with another in the deck for the combo. Echoing Truth probably is a good idea to compliment the Claim's.
Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.
I love the charms very much, because you can use it very good in almost every situation. Dimir charm is nice I think, but that's maybe because I play Gift's in my deck. you just get Gift's then and now you get everything you want. Also dimir charm is a counter and a creature removal, so it is very flexible and good to me. Yeah I know the tactic you mention but also I had some situations where I had the Seer in hand and needed to combo off with just 3 mana available. So that's why I have Pact of negation in my sideboard... sometimes you just have bad luck =P

Trying to figure out a good sideboard is super hard. There's just a lot of ***** to worry about.
@Alleyway Jack:
Did you play it like this in some testings or is this just from your mind? I'm curious if you have some trouble with aggro decks. Due to the fact you are playing 6 fetchlands 4 Shockduals and 3 Thoughtseize seems pretty hard against aggro. I know that you often Loot yourself into oblivion, but that's why I don't also want to put my life total on the line with such spells and fetches. Also Thoughtseize "only" hits 1 cardtype more than Duress although you can target yourself to get Protean Hulk into your grave. That's why I play Raven's crime and it has retrace which is pretty nice either to discard stuff you need in your grave or to disrupt the enemy.
Also the only deal why I don't play Ideas Unbound is, that it is sometimes hard to get UU in my version of the deck. Also it's only sorcery speed and it's not that flexible as the charms.
May I ask why you play a basic mountain? If you fear Blood Moon then the last thing to be frightened of is to be cut to R mana, because all your nonbasic lands will become basic Mountains.

Been playing that list on Cockatrice like a fiend.
Playing with 6 fetches and 4 shocks is no big deal at all. It's not like i'm fetching untapped shocks every turn. I'll usually pop a fetch EOT, unless i really have to cast a spell. or i'll just grab a basic, which is the main reason for that basic mountain.
I feel the same about 3 Thoughtseize. You really aren't doing that much damage to yourself at all. The ability to discard anything, topped with being able to bin a combo piece in your own hand is more than worth it. I'm not a big fan of Raven's Crime without the Life from the Loam loop to break it. Crime by itself it pretty terrible actually.
With my mana base, having UU for Ideas Unbound is a piece of cake. why are people playing such jank mana bases? Budget reasons?
As far as the MU against Aggro, it's not terrible, but obviously sometimes they just race you. Siding in 4 Bolt and 2 Echoing Truth make things fairly reasonable though. You generally only need to stall for a few turns, and hopefully you'll have the combo set up. Inquisition also helps by discarding threats. And again, you don't crack your fetches like a jackass so land dmg has a minimal effect.
So while i am a huge fan of Gifts Ungiven, it seems really slow here? I'm not sure this is the deck that wants to be playing Gifts. With no ramp youre not even trying to play Gifts until t4.. then you still need to jump through hoops to actually initiate the combo. It just feels slow and clunky here. Gifts fits better in contro/ midrange decks, rather than a deck that's trying to be fast combo.
The mana base is because I want some more flexibility for having the charms I find them that good. And yes I don't want to spend a lot of money to get fetches when this mana base just fits it. Maybe I have to try Thoughtseize a bit more just to get to know how valuable it may be.
Gifts Ungiven is basically the card to ensure you get the combo, ALWAYS that's why I play it. It saved me that much I just don't want to go without them. Also Gifts Ungiven, at end of turn 4 means you just win t5 and that's also relatively fast in modern, even if you can do it t3 with this deck.

It relies a on what you played or have in hand I must admit. So ok ensured t6 win it is, t5 win depends heavily on what you already got in hand. But still there were several hands which I could ensure a t5 win with Gifts Ungiven. Scenario 1: You need a Faithless Looting or a Izzet charm in your hand. So you choose Protean Hulk (if not in grave) Footsteps of the Goryo(if not in grave or hand) Noxiuos Revival and Dimir Machinations. Mostly he will give you Machinates and hulk, so play looting in your turn and discard hulk with it and transmute for Footsteps. that's t6 win then.
Scenario 2: If you got for example Hulk and Footsteps but don't have a looting effect in hand you get Revival, Looting, Izzet charm, then you go off t5 for example. Scenario 3: Or if Hulk is in your grave and you need Footsteps, you pile up Footsteps, Revival, Machinations--> t6. Scenario 4: you have Footsteps but you didn't loot Hulk into your grave you simply search hulk with gifts and go off next turn(t5). Scenario 5: You got revival and have no Footsteps or Hulk(in grave) You search for Hulk and Footsteps and win next turn. With another loot effect, instead of Gifts, you still might not get a Hulk to the gave.
So ok it does not guarantee a t5 win but a t6, but it is very good to also set up t5 wins with the right cards. With cantrips and Loot effects it may be that you are just looking for one outcome and have several t5 wins (I got them very often).

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
It was like the following:
2x Reveillark
2x Body Double

3x Gemstone Mine
2x City of Brass
3x Darkslick Shores
3x Steam Vents
2x Swamp
1x Island

2x Sulfurous Springs
Gifts Ungiven is really nice to make tricks to get your combo working. If you have Footsteps of the Goryo in your hand you get Protean Hulk into your grave at end of turn and go off the next turn, secured with Duress or Raven's Crime. Also Raven's Crime is nice to discard Hulk when you target yourself, and it can be cast from your graveyard because of retrace ability.

HOLD EVERYTHING, I NEED TO PLAY THIS DECK.
CANCEL MY APPOINTMENTS.
I'll be back with a decklist.
Modern: Top Control -- UWx Titan -- Loam Pox -- Footsteps Hulk
Legacy: Doomsday -- Death and Taxes -- UR Stasis -- Sylvan Plug
Pauper: UB Teachings -- UR Nivix Control
Actually I thought the same so that's why I'm ging on the tournament with my list above.

If you want to play on MTGO add me I'm HeskatetAS, playing Modern and Legacy
