I would keep Extirpate...to me, in combination with disruption, its our "slaughter games".
It also helps against blue decks that play snapcaster and other decks that play Ancient Grudge.
Also helps against Storm...
The thing is that Duress is also good against Storm and Snapcaster decks and it is more proactive. Obviously discard into Extirpate is great, but when there is that stranded Extirpate in your hand it just feels real bad. Maybe we just end up taking a mediocre card out of the yard that they never would have drawn anyway. Overall Extirpate seems higher risk but higher reward.

I was wondering, SirPsychoMantis, if you could maybe upload a few rounds of you playing the deck in the dailies so I can see cool interactions or how you play the deck in general.
Tezzeret (both of them) I have played both extensively when they were both standard (Timesieve combo with the Seeker + U/B Tez Infect with agent of bolas) and I'm curious as to how this plays out in modern against the top tier decks.

Let me know please! Super stoked!
I need to set up my streaming stuff again, I'll see if I can and also get some time for some daily events.
As for Tier 1 decks, one thing I love is being able to hate out Pod really well + Damnations or Executioner's Capsule recursion, here's a nice screenshot of the frustration concede out of the opponent in a 2-man:
Also a very very situational thing I just pulled off: -1 Tezzeret the Seeker when they have an uncracked fetch land, drop a Pithing Needle and they don't have a chance to respond if they don't crack it pre-search. Rarely applicable since you usually don't care about stone raining an opponent once you have a 5 drop out. Worked the game I did it since I damnationed and my opponent was relying heavily on birds and Noble Hierarchs.

How do you "recur" damnation? (Or I just misread your sentence)
(Damnations) or (Executioner's Capsule recursion). Most people know the Pithing Needle trick, but people tend to not think about it when you just say "Tezzeret -1". If you really want to be crazy, you can -2 him and still pull the Pithing Needle.
As for the streaming I have done it on Twitch, its not too hard to set up OBS and it is all free. I'd prefer to be able to do commentary over the video as that is much more helpful then seeing someone click on some cards.

How relevant are the Ensnaring Bridge? It just doesn't feel like the hand count drops too much even with Lilianas in the main.
Against decks that want to tap dudes sideways, Ensnaring Bridge is your saving grace.
As a matter of fact it is always the prime target of artifact/permanent hate.
The list I play consist of 6 discard spells main and 2x Liliana. Between casting Talismans and Trinkets I can get my hand down pretty low within a turn or two after casting the Bridge.
Remember, we also play Damnation and other ways of protecting ourselves till Bridge stabilizes.
The list I'm running also runs Thirst for Knowledge and with Tezzeret's +1 to find artifacts and Thirst for Knowledge, my hand count stays high. It also stays high when you draw too many of the planeswalkers you also have on board and so I feel like adding more Damnation rather than the Ensnaring Bridge tends to be working.
The only time I don't want Ensnaring Bridge is literally against 1/1 dudes that are over all swinging sideways. Against big creature decks, hell yes absolutely.
Have we thought about going Esper Tezzeret at all? With access to Leyline of Sanctity, Ghostly Prison, and even the mass amounts of board wipe? Just wanting to know if you guys have any opinions on that.

Remember that with Thirst for Knowledge you don't have to only discard 1 card if you really want to stay low for a bridge. Sometimes bridge can suck against Pod with a bunch of 0/1 + Exalted, so a solid mix of Bridge and Damnation is where we want to be.
So some people have experimented with Esper. The problem is we lose the painless mana and it usually turns into a Gifts Ungiven deck that happens to have 2 or 3 Tezzerets.

Based on that alone, I want to stick with UB, haha.
And you're right, but are you still running 3 Bridges main? Right now, I'm not too happy when I draw them so I think 1 is good for now to dig for it if necessary. So far, my list is as follows:
My initial thoughts: You are probably pretty weak to RG Tron game 1 with only 1 needle, 1 Ghost Quarter, and 1 bridge. If you know there isn't much tron in your meta its probably fine.
Glaring Spotlight is definitely not necessary, I've had a ridiculously good winrate against Bogles between Bridge, Engineered Explosives, Damnation, and Chalice of the Void.
I've never liked Mindslaver in this deck. We usually aren't getting up to 6 mana very quickly, so by the time we can use it the opponent is probably already locked out by our hate or we are dangerously close to dying. There is a very low chance we have 10 mana on the board to use it in one turn and probably <0.1% chance we have the mana to Academy Ruins lock with it.

SirPsychoMantis how much do you like chalice? I'm never too crazy about it in other decks and especially this one where it being on 1 also hurts us and I don't know how useful it is on 2 by the time we get to 4 mana. In what situations does it really shine? I feel like the 1 chalice MB slot could be better used as a thirst or another inquisition, no?

The 1 of is definitely a personal call. Sometimes you rip it against aggro Zoo and it feels great, but in the more normal cases it is great against Living End, Ad Nauseam, and some other goofy combo decks game 1, as Chalice on 0 really sucks for those decks. It can also shut off Lightning Bolts when your life total is getting low, or synergize well when we know the opponents hand. If Storm fumbles at all or we kill their engine, a Chalice on 2 is a game ender.
It is almost always wrong to blind drop it Game 1 before you know what your opponent is on, you have to play it very different than you do Legacy or Vintage. If you are new to Modern, I think it is probably better to not have it in the maindeck as it is a tricky card to play with.

Yea I'll probably leave it out for now, it's probably also a meta call. What would you replace it with in your list?
Probably either another discard, Thirst for Knowledge, or another hate artifact.

Agreed, Bogles is probably the easiest matchup we have, don't forget stealing enchantments with our mainboard Spellskites!
Tron imho is our worst match-up. If they don't destroy something with Oblivion Stone, they exile it with Karn.
And if they're U/x Tron, they just counter and bounce everything.
Especially after they sideboard and bring in other ways to destroy our artifacts.
I've recently played against Tron lists that have Spellskites, so they can steal your Tezz -1 ability.
Its like you literally have to run 4 Pithing Needles against them.
Its not impossible, esp if you can get Ghost Quarter/Fulminator Mage and the Extirpate combo really early on a Tron piece.
Please continue the discussion in the new thread here. Thanks to Sasky for running this for so long, and thanks to SirPsychoMantis for taking over the new one!
