I know the spaghetti one is truly almighty but wouldn't it be better if you used more "normal" creatures with useful abilities as well and also play [CARD]Footsteps of the Goryo
[/CARD] or dredge return? more reanimation spells lead to a more consistent deck... Cause right now you just depend on ONLY one reanimation spell which kind of sucks
any way you look at it.
We have been using Goryo's Vengeance and Makeshift Mannequin. Mannequin counter can be ignored with Emrakul and its an instant.
Footsteps of the Goryo is a sorcery = not good here. It doesn't grant haste, which makes a huge difference.
problem with akroma is that a 6 point swing on turn 2 of goryo really does ntohing in the grand scheme of things. we need things like emrakul which 1 shot 6 permanents and 15 damage or jin gitaxias which will refill your hand and if you time it right kill opponents hand too.
after some testing here's my new more combo orriented version. dropped the curve, added more discard and less control.
I like that list a lot more than your previous one. It still seems a little odd, not seeing your mana base with all of that color-conflict, but it's much less awkward than before. Go-go t3 win with Loam as outlet?
Instant speed reanimation is just REQUIRED in this format. Anyone who recommends sorcery speed spells from now on shall be IGNORED (at least by me).

Ok so you discard Emrakul via Zomfest, then you go to reanimate with Vengeance in response to its reshuffle ability.
Now if the opponent wanted to screw you up with Extirpate, would he respond to your reanimate spell or the reshuffle trigger?
Im just confused as to wether or not the split second ability still works here, like, if i respond to your response, is it too late or do i just respond to you discarding him before you even cast Vengeance?
Goryo's Vengeance/Makeshift Mannequin goes on the stack targeting Emrakul, I pass priority before the spell resolves, you Extirpate, all copies of Emrakul are removed from my GY and library and I still shuffle because it was already on the stack. Goryo's Vengeance/Mannequin is countered because of no legal targets.
Probably because that isn't UB Reanimator. It IS a great strategy though. The original version of this deck was tooled around Emrakul, so we've pretty much been sticking to that.

I don't think it would be a problem if another variation on U/B reanimator was discussed in this thread.
Here's a rough list I made on cockatrice last night, but has already succeeded in getting 3 rage quits.
It is extremely consistent for a T4 combo, and often T3. The problem being it's very easy to break up the combo, so I'm thinking about running more counters in place of some serum visions.
As for the combo, this I feel is the weakness of the deck, if anyone can think of a better one please post

This deck earns my seal of approval. Forbidden Alchemy still seems a little slow (being a t5 win and all in a fast format), and Oona's Prowler is just the best discard outlet, but for a deck without counterspells you seem to have worked out the balance between protection and combo pretty well. I am still slightly worried about the deck's ability to dig within the first couple turns, but otherwise it looks nice.
Personal suggestion, make it a 3/3 split between Oona's Prowler and Zombie Infestation. You MIGHT not always have the 2 cards to pitch to the enchantment, and 2 Prowlers won't show up very often.

So I decided to play around with this the other night (I've had the Goryo's Vengeance forever, and the Emrakuls from 12post) and this is what I ended up with. Mind you, there are some very suboptimal card choices, due to a combination of limited availability and budgetary constraints:
I actually played this monstrosity tonight in a small (6 man) event. I went 2-1. What I learned:
-I don't like playing against Cryptic Command. Not being able to hit it with Inquisition *really* hurt.
-Norn is nice, but Jin would be *much* better. I mean, Norn seems to do fine for slowing down Splinter Twin and aggro decks, but Jin locking out combo, plus all the draw... well, I preferred Jin in testing, just couldn't find anyone who had them.
-I really like Magus. Like, probably an unhealthy amount.
-Zombie Infestation was kinda meh. Although I can see it being *much* better with Jin.
Besides any snide comments about the manabase, any thoughts on this?
I think the existence of Forbidden Alchemy makes the earlier iterations of this deck look silly.
I mean Alchemy is so much better at discarding stuff that I don't think there is a need for ZI or Oona's Prowler.
I have taken this back to the drawing board.
You are correct about Jin-Gitaxias. I would run him all day long over Elesh-Norn here...and
There are certainly more aggro decks now. Elesh Norn might not be too bad in come circumstances, and she is certainly worthy of a SB slot.
I think this deck needs Thoughtseize over Iok. You don't really care about your life total too much. Nabbing anything, including Emrakuls from your own hand sometimes is key.
I agree with Apaulogy, after few rounds of testing the Zombie Infestation came out quite negative, but I feel that is the general consensus. I'm switching to 4 Thoughtseize and 3 Inquisition as well.
Elesh Norn is definitely a side board card versus aggro.
Other than the manabase poppelseed The deck looks fine, like you said you'd rather have Gin, and you're right. The good thing is you don't need to worry about CC as it doesn't get played as much as you'd think.
I currently play a version of the deck with snapcaster mage, and it performs amazingly. I'm never upset to see it, as it helps when comboing off after they seized or duressed your goryo's vengeance and also to help dig a little further by recurring a random cantrip spell. It also serves as a decent blocker, it often scares off a teeg or a goblin guide or even an underpowered nacatl. I use 3 in my deck as having 4 can lead to an opening hand with more than you would like to see.
THIS 100X!!! If you don't agree with this then there is no amount of logic that will ever convince you that good, non-oppressive, combos should be allowed. If you don't agree with it then just don't play this game, and you certainly shouldn't feel entitled to make any comment on ban lists ever.
Ive been playing this version of the deck with a great deal of success. Most wins are on the back of playing goryo's or makeshift on Jin at their end of turn step, making them discard their hand, and then I whirlwind slam a LotV and draw 7 cards... I love the similarities between LotV and Emrakul.
I think thoughtseize has a place in this deck, but I feel the disruption package is better in the sideboard while the counters hold down a grind victory game one. Isochron is great but drawing more than 2 or more was always bad. Mystical teachings gets us Jin and any of our pieces that are missing during the opponents eot. Forbidden alchemy was absolutely made for this deck, the amount of times it has won me the game from either finding a piece or discarding an emrakul/jin is just overwhelming.
Im thinking Squelch, Thoughtseize and inquisition, snapcaster, damnation, ratchet bomb, and phyrexian arena in the sideboard ; any suggestions ?
I love this deck, and It's a matter of time until someone gets it just right.
i know where your coming from when you suggest lightning axe but thats to circumstantial when it comes to trying to reanimate emrakul, even with 3rd color splash aside.
smallpox might work, but throw in darkmor salvage so you get your land base back with some mill going on at the same time.

So far, this is my favourite deck in this thread.
Your sideboard seems so random, but I believe you have it worked out to your meta?
Things I was considering: Noxious Revival?
I particularily don't like the Life from the Loam enabler, but I guess there is nothing else that good? I personally prefer instant-speed enablers like Oona's Prowler, Funeral Charm and Zombie Infestation.
