it's a pretty fair game until you get an ascendancy in play, and since UWR is not very good in the current meta, we are pretty much behind all games, but not much. Discard in general is horrible for this deck.
Once you get an ascendancy in play and a fatestitcher out, its very hard to fizzle, only if you had very bad luck with the loot and the cantrip you are able to kill them on the spot. ideas unbound is crazy, won me games several times but i'm not willing to add another one
thought scours still are a good option over sleight because its a easier way to send fatestitcher to the bin, but currently not working with the sideboard plan
I'm not linking the 4th anticipate since can be stuck in our hands much of the time, this deck wants as many 1 mana cantrips as possible, maybe 2 sleight of hand might be okay with - 1 probe - 1 anticipate.
Usually I'm not a big fan of using bad cards that only help the combo, but sure, I'm lacking more low cost spells and helps me give back the ascendancies. I'll give a try, I just got the cards and will start testing in paper now
I like the idea of leylines since discard and burn are horrible matches, will give a shot
Will this be revived at all with the printing of Magmatic Insight? It tries really hard to do a Treasure Cruise impression. The raw drawing power helps the deck a little bit but the way to play from here is probably just with Green. I'm more familiar with the 4C deck, so does anyone who knows this one have any thoughts on the card? I feel that it won't be enough to revive this but probably spark life back into the other version.
Nope. Magmatic insight is just a red style cantrip, not a draw card, since you're still just getting card parity, and discarding dead lands isn't important for us since we loot away excess lands anyways. I've tested Ideas Unbound in the card advantage slot, but it just doesn't dig very well outside the combo turn. I think Pyromancer Ascension might be the correct card in the card advantage slot since it just doubles all our cantrips, which helps all cantrips dig better as well as making the combo turn extremely easy.
Pyromancer's Ascension is too slow for non-Storm decks or combos that go off all in one turn. A tempo style aggro/control like this or maybe Delver decks need everything right then. If you've gotten the counter to turn this active you better have already won. You may have also already lost tempo in playing the enchantment as well as the loss of a card slot in a tight list. I DO still feel maybe Jeskai Ascendancy might have a home but only if more Phyrexian or free spells are used to be able to trigger it off the same turn or drop it a turn early. It's advantage is in automatically being active.
With Jeskai Ascendancy and Tutelage in play, every cantrip mills 4 from your opponent, looting with Izzet Charm mills 6, and an active visions mills 8. I feel like casting 12ish spells isn't too hard, and if you don't have a fastestitcher, you could still do it over like 3 turns while holding up a bit of control
What do you think of playing jace, vryns prodegy in this deck? He seems like a natural fit for this kind of strategy. Also, do you think bring to light has any place in this deck? It seems like it could be super good as your other ascendancys or fatestichers if you can make the mana work. Also, have you guys considered gifts ungiven for this deck? seems like that could be good as well.
Cept we don't need a mana dork. Any 0 artifact and Helic or Knack with a dude and you just win... You could do a one cost artifact of you wanted to use the FRF 1U guy that taps for 2 but has to be used on artifacts.
It's crazy because his deck list looks super sub par. I feel we've already moved away from things like Visions, because it literally only works like 30-40% of the time, and 4 remand in the deck? List looks a bit off to me. But it is LSV so what do I know.

Not just the Tendo King, the power of the Galactic Leyline surpasses that of the Tempa Emperor, No!, It's magnificent power is even greater than that!
I agree with replacing the Verdicts and especially with Gigadrowse replacing them. That card is just good between the ability to remove blockers from the equation, stopping an attack/setting up your own, tapping down their lands to set up the next turn to go off! Almost anything U I run I have them main or sideboard if I can.
How have the tap lands been treating you? I'm not a big fan of a full 4 Conclave but if it's working on consistency then great, and the free scry off the Temples is good but is it worth the delay?

This is the list I'm testing on cockatrice, it's been good all around. You get to play UWR control and combo them out when they tap low. Any ideas?
