You're really having trouble against Grixis Control? I feel like I usually just run them over. Granted I'm playing a version similar to what got 20th at an SCG (more aggressive and tempo-based with young pyros and krasis as additional threats instead of expensive cryptics and electrolyzes) and I feel like I just tempo them out of the game and they have a rough time stabilizing. The only time that I have difficulty is when I stumble or just durdle (what the deck is completely trying to avoid) because their long game is better than mine. Their manabase is greedy and damages them a lot and they trade A LOT of early game tempo (compare Jace to Goyf or Pyro or Inquisition to Dispel) for the late-game grind. Take advantage of that, play aggressive, punish them.
you can just untap your deceiver in resp to him tapping your guy and combo off.

I have 5 forests and 6 cantrips. but also if I play a turn 2 goyf and turn 3 moon it's good enough.
of course with the krasis. I do really need the forest more but still.
If my moon screws me over more ill add a extra fetch. but ive usually found my forest but an extra fetch would be nice

seems. interesting.. I really hate the etb clause. I don't like etb lands in this deck cause I like to do things every turn. turn 1 cast spell snare/serum visions/bolt turn 2 cast goyf/remand turn 3 bluff or cast deceiver/krasis turn have cryptic or alot of mana open. so like I can cast a 3 drop with snare/dispel or a goyf with remand backup etc etc

Hey guys! So I plan on taking RUG Twin to GP Pittsburg, but I will be playing a version that is lower to the ground and more threat heavy. It's pretty close to what was posted a few pages back by AcademyRuins (he got 20th at an SCG Premier IQ recently). This is my current 75, and I was wondering if you guys have any experience with this version? Any changes you would make? I'm pretty sure the mainboard is solid, I'm just not sure about the 3rd huntmaster or dispel in the sideboard.
I've loved the deck so far in testing. I just don't particularly like cryptic command if you're not either ramping into it or playing all flash creatures (scapeshift and UR twin) and I think now that grixis has taken hold of the slow/grindy version of twin, I think RUG should just embrace its tempo roots and play to that advantage as much as possible (at least game 1) and then make sideboarding incredibly awkward for the opponent. (Because this version attacks at so many angles). i.e. you kill your opponent with young pyro game 1, then they may try to bring in pyroclasm, which is pretty awful against goyf and krasis. Or rending volley which may only kill snapcaster mage post board.
Hopefully you guys can help me and give some thoughts before next week! I will do my best to write up a tournament report if you'd like
I would go all in with bounding krasis. you have young pyromancer so they won't have many extra bolt to use. after testing alot bounding krasiss clock is VERY fast.
20 lands is also extremely low.
your list seems interesting. ill try out some young pyromancers because they loook fun but not sure if I would prefer over ooze, or pia and kiran or huntmasters.
I would also highly recommend more dispels because they are great vs almost everything.

20 lands is really low. The probes make it closer to 20.5 lands (and then there is another land in the side). There are no cryptics or electrolyze or anything. The only cards that cost more than 2 are the combo. Its felt really consistent so far in the 50 or so games that I've played with the deck though.
The idea with pyro is that turn 2 threat into leave mana up the rest of the game is really powerful. Your opponent can't have infinite removal spells. In vacuum, yes, the 4 drops are more powerful (That's why I have 5 in the side) but the turn 2 threat makes such a huge difference in how the games play out.
I would love more dispels. I just don't know what to cut.
I think mystic snake is hilarious and im now testing it but with low expectations.
I also prefer blood moons to molten rains.
the 4 serum visions help to but I would probably cut the desolate loouthouse from the sideboard and move it to the mainboard. this will give you atleast one extra sideboard space and giving you more lands

So I just got the deck assembled today. I mainly play jund, which is way more streamlined and easier to play than this.
Definitely harder to play than ur twin, too. I can't expect to just play and own with the deck. My friends whooped my ass with their burn, token and affinity decks. I just wasn't playing the deck well or playing it with much knowledge.
Is there any good places to read and watch this deck being played? I really like when youtube vids of great players are on mtgo and they go through all their possible lines of play and what they're opponent is possibly thinking. Just looking to get a lot of knowledge on this deck

If you're looking for some video of the deck in action, Patrick Dickmann played it excellently through the Modern Super League series. He is a lot of fun to watch because he pilots this deck like a beast. And they have him do commentary after his wins where he explains his thought process in detail.
A couple things though:
The first few videos have issues with the audio, annoying but watchable (the back half are fine), not every video features Patrick (although he does go to the finals against Shaun McLaren on Jund)
He is in the 3rd video and the finals are the last 4 videos. However the whole tournament has some great games in it and Dickmann on commentary in a few are pretty great.
Heading to GP Pittsburgh this weekend and I'm having a few doubts about my list. I was 26-4 in 30 matches and have gone 1-7 in the past few days. I'm not sure if its my list or just a run of luck. My current list is
I was wondering how you guys feel about Huntmaster of the Fells over the 2nd Cryptic Command? It feels like the weakest card in the deck now that Dispels are everywhere. I haven't been able to test it enough and would like to hear the opinion of someone who has played it.
Yeah vapor snag isn't at its best at the moment. Too much aggro and GBx. I really hate dismember though. I'll be looking for alternatives. Anyone in here gonna be trying to Tarmo Twin in Pittsburgh this weekend?
I completely agree that cryptic command feels like the worst card in the deck now.
In addition to that, Grixis has taken over the grindy niche of twin. That's why I have embraced the idea that if I'm going to play Temur, I want to take full advantage of what green gives, and REALLY push the tempo/aggro plan. I posted my list a page back. By GulDukat's suggestion, I've also gone up to the full 4 krasis, and man is he great in this take of tarmotwin. Krasis can't tap lands, but he sure can rumble.
If you aren't a fan of cryptic anymore, then maybe you should take my aggressive build out for a spin
Ill be playing it this weekend at Pittsburg. Ill take notes and post a report after if you guys would like.

TBH, I haven't found much info on the deck and it's lines other than the Dickmann article: http://www.mtgmintcard.com/articles/writers/patrick-dickmann/analyzing-tarmo-twin and the coverage of him playing in MSL.
I'm also fairly new to the deck and twin in general, so I'd love any resources as well. Would reading regular UR twin stuff be helpful?
