... You mean the 1 or two Island/Basic that is fetchable via Path to Exile? Or do you mean the two/three copies of both Ancient Grudge and Nature's Claim (overlapping functions)? You're talking about the sideboard, right? 1 Galvanic Blast SB to compliment maindecked Blast if you want more removal or reach? Singleton Pithing Needle because they're never necessary but never useless?
Or are you talking about the Maindecked x/x splits between Master of Etherium and Etched Champion? Two Drums because with 4 Moxen, makes 6 accelerators? Two Memnites because with a playset of Ornithopters, 6 is about enough to always see a 0CMC in your opening hand?
Who are you talking to, and what lists are you referring to?:-/
I mean like 2 spell snare, one cage, 2 cannonist, etc. Seems like any less than 3 would be rare to see
I feel that this build has been working out best for me.
3x Master of Etherium and 1x Etched Champion main deck gives me a much better clock game 1, and while 2x Etched Champion do take up the sideboard slots, you have a much better chance at game 1 wins because unless the opponent can effectively answer Master of Etherium, it's game over quick. This is the opposite of the norm of 3x Etched Champion, 1x Master of Etherium because I don't see the need for a 3 mana bear to grind game 1 when your game plan is to finish it by turn 4/5.
I like the 4x Steel Overseer a lot for game 1. Game 2/3 Steel Overseer and Signal Pest tend to go out because the games become much more grindy in favor of the Etched Champion, Blood Moon, Spell Pierces, Thoughtseizes, and other hate cards. Master of Etherium stays or leaves depending on the opponent's removal suite, and whether the deck is white. If the deck is white, I'll most likely be running Master of Etherium as a way to counteract Stony Silence and Lingering Souls. This is another reason why I don't like decks that run only 1x Master of Etherium because once that Stony Silence lands, it's literally game over because there's basically no way out.

That actually seems pretty solid. I'd love to see how it works out. You might want to up your land count a bit though, considering that youre running 3 each of master and tezz.
This same decklist went 4-0 in three MTGO dailies on 7/21, 7/25, and 7/26. Notice there is an extra land and one less Mox. I'm guessing it's to give the deck a better chance to deal with Stony Silence. A couple Spell Snare are in the sideboard, which helps fighting Stony Silence, and Kataki, War's Rage.
So, I am williami1986 on MTGO. This list is actually using a budget, and the list in real life is slightly different with the mainboard containing 4 opals and only 2 springleaf drums. Other than that, the list is the same, on MTGO and my local store the meta game is jund and melira pod combo. I have found that this list has a better match up against both those decks, as jund tend to do a lot of favors for an affinity player by dealing a lot of damage to themselves. Vs. pod, the spot removal is necessary as they are able to get their combo going out of what seems to be absolutely nowhere.
The sideboard in real life is different, and unfortunately I didn't really have the tickets to invest in some of the cards I liked to use... As of today the real life sideboard contains:
I really love this version as people love shocking and fetching in this format, and the burn this list provides will get you there more often then one may believe. Thoughtcast is a card that I have had a long debate over, and the reason I cut it is because I believe that it is a card that is best when you are already ahead in the game, and I've found that with the amount of combo currently in modern, the ability to disrupt that combo by destroying a key creature is required. I understand the debate supporting Thoughtcast, this is just my personal observation of the current meta game.
Any suggestions on sideboard options would be greatly appreciated, the most difficult match up tends to be uwr control, but if this deck resolves a spellskite or arcbound ravager, then it tends to be much easier.

My current deck that's been working of late. It's a bit of an all in deck but it's quite fast so it seems to balance risk/reward well.

3 spellskite (bogle, uwr control, twin, rdw, scapeshift)
3 whipflare (soul sisters, hatebear, control(w/ geist), bogle, faeries, merfolk)
1 ancient grudge (affinity, tezzeret control, tron, pod)
1 wear/tear (affinity, tezz control, tron, pod, bogle, anything that runs stony silence)
2 dispatch (tron, twin combo, jund)
1 relic of progenitus (reanimator, living end, uwr control)
2 spell snare (uwr control, affinity, merfolk, storm, anything w/ stony silence)
