Quote from TonyRoYeah I find it even remarkable that he won a single game vs. the Hexproof deck. Must have drawn one of the Wraths. If that deck actually gets big, this deck needs to evolve a bit.
Quote from SwatKatzIt looks like sacrifice effects will work regardless of totem armor. Are there any tourney playable sacrifice effects though..?
Quote from RhinneI heard the deck folds to a T1 kozilek/seize tough.
Quote from EngskWay too many fetches and scars lands suck. Others have commented on the mana; Gerry T articles rot the brain. The dude needs to win some meaningful tournies and not be writing about decks that remind him of his rise to unwarranted fame, during Lorwyn, like control decks that have too many colours in them because design inherently hamstrings the older 'pure' control aspect in the game.
I am almost positive that horrible manabases are not going to be helpful when talking about aiming to make a strategy that has been on the bottom of the heap for so long.
Wafo Tapa is does okay because he is Wafo Tapa. The man knows how to play control, but this deck is definitely my least favorite of his. On top of a garbage mana base, it also has a pretty low power level, which is not great in a format where such powerful things can happen.
Quote from zemanjaskiRed is the thinking man's colour.
Quote from "freedom » Fri Aug 09, 2013 9:58 am" »LP, I'm checking your article out as well. Behind all of your swag is the brain of one of the most intelligent Magic players I've ever known. I guess that's one more thing for you to add to the wall of ego that is your Sally sig.
Quote from photodyerI can go with that. LK, you are the Mace Windu of red mages...cool, tempered logic in deliberation, but capable of just flat kicking tail when the situation warrants it.
Quote from redthirstWisdom, thy name is Kincey.
Quote from TonyRoEvery since I switched to Marsh Flats and the Sulfur Falls, I've had absolutely no trouble with the mana, especially with Red. I posted earlier today in the comments that I thought hitting BB was substantially more difficult than Red. The deck needs, realistically, 1-2 red sources by Turn 6. You could also consider cutting the Mystic Gate for a Cascade Bluffs. With the other fetches and the Colonnades, I doubt you really need the Mystic Gate, though perhaps it will make the Verdicts out of the board worse.
Quote from TonyRoOne idea is to try out -1 Celestial Colonnade +1 Lavaclaw Reaches. Not as good for defense, but it's an interesting idea and late game mana sink if you think you really want more red sources.
