I just ordered the parts of the deck I was missing from my collection. This might be a really fun combo deck. I know I played against a Legacy version over a year ago and it went off turn 2. Combo is really where my heart is when it comes to MTG.
it seems to me that could be a better brinfle boar.
but why main deck? usually brindle boar is in the side, when there is
Remind me why it's a better Brindle Boar?
-Both cost 3
-Both 2/2
-Both net 4 life if using ability
But Brindle Boar costs 2G, and Spike Feeder is 1GG making Boar easier on the mana.

Spike Feeder has the added benefit of messing with combat math as well. Hemman said in his interview that he thinks Brindle Boar might be better though.
THIS 100X!!! If you don't agree with this then there is no amount of logic that will ever convince you that good, non-oppressive, combos should be allowed. If you don't agree with it then just don't play this game, and you certainly shouldn't feel entitled to make any comment on ban lists ever.
but the question is: why maindeck? only just for scapeshift?
My personal list feels like it has about 2-4 MD flex slots, in riders and faerie macabre, so I'd hazard the inclusion of feeder isn't that disruptive to the deck's overall plan. I think as long as the creature occupying those slots can either bin itself (macabre), or die on its own (riders), then 1 utility creature occupying those slots is as good as another, especially when tuned to the meta (feeder/boar ~ scapeshift).
Hi guys,
I just bought this deck and its really fun to play. I am suprised that this deck is not played more as it feels both consistent and powerfull ( and suprisingly fun). Only card I still dont own is fulminator mage. Is he really worth 40 $? He is 3cmc (as well as cascade triggers)...so why should I play him on turn 3 instead of Violent Outburst?
Joe Hemmann's deck also play only 3 Living End and 7 cascade triggers, is it really enough?
I think so. Keeping others off mana is what makes this deck so good
What are your all's thoughts on the Guides? Buy or sell? It seemed to work for him to power out T2 Fulminators or as an extra mana to cycle Deadshot/Carabid but is it that worth it?
So for anyone who hasnt checked the Mothership, that is the 2nd place deck list. Ive been lurking in this thread for a while and I'm thinking of finally putting this deck together in paper, so ive got a question. Is the white splash from previous versions worth it? It does give you a couple extra options like Sin Collector but this one seemed just fine without it. Also what would ur tweaks to his list be?
^
I've always been a fan of the minor white splash. Adding in 1 Temple Garden and being able to hardcast those Pale Recluse is too good to pass up. I love hands where I can cycle a dude turn one, and land-cycle my Pale Recluse on turn two. It allows you to take riskier 1-land hands, especially if you're on the draw.
I haven't made as much use with the white splash in my sideboard. They underperformed. I first tried Aven Mindcensor, and then even went harder onto the white and tried Leyline of Sancity (pre-bannings). I wasn't a big fan of either, or most white sideboard cards.
1 Temple Garden and 4 Pale Recluse is recommended; the soft-splash has never backfired on me.
I've used it to kill Phantasmal Images, stop an undying trigger, and generally screw with combat math, as well as gain the life. I don't think we have enough mana issues to worry about the GG, especially without the white splash.

You should play him t3 because you can sac him to mess with your opponent's mana base, then when you cascade on t4 you bring him back to do it again.
3 mana and a 1-turn wait = 2x Wasteland. This card is a beating and is absolutely required. He also baits counterspells, and often against control you want to wait until t4 to cascade anyways so you have Ricochet Trap backup.

This is a very good analysis for Spike Feeder. To me, Feeder and Brindle Boar are two sides of the same coin. You get what you pay for with each one. Spike Feeder offers just a little extra flexibility in exchange for being just a little bit more difficult to cast.
And yeah, I'll update the primer with Hemmann's list. Tomorrow, though - I'm exhausted.
Is it redundant to run both Faerie Macabres AND Jund Charms maindeck? Specially if my meta is not that graveyard-depandant
Jund Charm has two other modes which are useful. You can always make a Meta call with your deck. If you feel either card is out of place for your Meta then replace them with something else.
Just expect Graveyard play like Melira Pod in areas outside of your Meta.

Another day, another Grafdigger's Cage used against me, another easy win. The thing is, he was playing jund and had Dark Confidant out, so I knew he had a Jund Charm in hand and was relying on the "cast bigger creatures than your opponent" plan and in a losing position while he kept up RGB every turn. Then, he played Cage, and tapped out for a Lili to kill my dude and get a free swing with Bob. I proceed to go off, and explain that cascade exiles the spells and casts it from exile, and then LE exiles the creatures and puts them onto the battlefield from there. He didn't take it too well.

I think it's hilarious when people don't read cards. I use to have a friend that would try to tap my permanent down with Ajani Vengeant and it took a little bit to explain to him that if it was untapped, it didn't tap down:rolleyes:

I apologize but didn't read through all 38 pages. Is living end still going to be viable once the ooze hits modern constructed as a legal card? I'm sure it can be played around but will it slow the deck down too much?
Just asking because I just broke in to moderne with this deck last week and was wondering if I choose poorly to start.

This. I personally elect to go with Godless Shrine over Temple Garden, as I find myself wanting extra black mana more often than extra green mana (suspend Living End, hardcast Street Wraith).
