I only have UW tron in my meta and I am favoured against it. Running Fulminator mainboard really upped my percentage points in a few matchup. My current issue is making more black sources, and I think I need to cut my second Forest for a third Marsh Flats, but I don't know how comfortable I am with having 8 fetches and 6 cards to search up. We'll see - Other alternative is running a third Swamp over the Forest.

You'll be fine. Assuming even distribution you'll need to go through 45 cards before hitting the 7th. Less 7 for the opener and 6 for the other lands you fetched up, solike 30+ turns at which point you should have some 15 lands out anyways at which point you'll be pissed that 7th Fetch wasn't something useful and not tbat you ran out of basics.
Thank you for the math behind it - Something I had yet to do. I had noticed it come up a couple times in testing today where I ran out of lands to fetch - Variance.
Paths will mess with it a bit as well. Still, the one game you lose to it will be worth the extra percentage points in the many many other games.
Path Snap Path would basically cut that 30 turn clock in half. But still, 15 turns is a deep run. Its not like you'll need the mana for fixing at that point so it's just the additional land that would be useful. There's still advantage to be had through the shuffle effect of a Fetch if you're running Courser.
Wildspeaker all the way. I don't think it is particularly close. There are a lot of decks that tapping out on turn four can be a death sentence. Garruk let's you keep abrupt decay. The vampires don't do much of anything, while the beasts are a lot more relevant. The Garruk overrun oftentimes ends the game immediately if you are anywhere near even in board position, while the sorin emblem takes a lot longer.
This is my current decklist:
11
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Dark Confidant
3 Scavenging Ooze
24
4 Thoughtseize
4 Abrupt Decay
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Liliana of the Veil
3 Lingering Souls
2 Garruk, Wildspeaker
2 Dismember
2 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Slaughter Pact
That looks really similar to the list I've been running
I've found that I really like finks/ob baloth/bow out of the side for when I need the life gain.
garruk is the best 4 CMC planeswalker our deck could play outside of maybe ajani v.
t3 souls, t4 garruk flash back souls, t5 ult garruk is a massive beating that most decks don't see coming. Granted, that's magical Christmas land, but the ability to do stuff like that gives us a chance against any deck.
obliterators still have they're place, but they'll sit on the back burner while twin and pod remain dominant, if bgx starts to really pick up in popularity I can see zoo and other aggro decks pick up In popularity.
still not sold on pack rat but it definitely has potential. Think of it as a 5 drop that doesn't screw you when you flip it to bob.
I don't think we can afford to play cards that don't directly affect the board state on their own. When you play the aggro/mirror match discard comes out, so that is one more card or more you need to have a viable sideboard card to replace it with.
The only way it'll see play is if evolve to running 4 pack rat main deck and begin running 8+ discard main. Even then it would probably only be good in a all twin/scapeshift/combo meta. Probably not worth it.
I updated the SB guide. Let me know if you see any mistakes!
Atm i dont like my deck for a slot... i tryed pack rat (and won a gpt) but it doesnt seem to work anymore... with pack rat all my threat cost 2 (being easily countered with spell snare and i am vulnarable for anger alot) i tried thrun witness and a batterskull md, i tried 3 courser md, anyone is having my kind of problem? Not knowing how to finish this deck!!!? Or anyone has good word for me on the junk version? With souls? I like the gb archetype atm but there is something missing...

I've been trying the souls version. They seem to be great so far. I know they feel kinda slow, but the slot they are taking (courser) is even slower, at least the souls can represent four power (evasive). They help so much in a matchup that is otherwise awful (affinity). They crush the mirror, and just seem great so far. The one matchup I haven't practiced enough is pod. I don't know what we can possibly play to make that matchup feel better. I'm hoping the souls and Wildspeaker are what I need. Anyone have any advice?
Dark Blast and Garruk help a lot in the pod matchup. I also bring in
1x Night of Souls' Betrayal
1x Damnation
1x Drown in Sorrow
1x Golgari Charm
1x Bow of Nylea
1x Grafdigger's Cage
and usually
1x Batterskull
I board out
2x Fulminator Mage
3x Inquisition of Kozilek
2x Abrupt Decay
Perhaps my sideboard as well as some of my maindeck choices are why I feel comfortable in the pod matchup (Maybe 55-60% in my favour post board, 50%ish pre board?).
Why is darkblast so good against pod? Is it mostly for the birds? And then it gets the second half of finks/redcap? I haven't played with either, but what about curse of deaths hold over night of souls betrayal? I would think the extra mana is probably worth it to not shrink your own creatures?
Wednesday night modern at my local shop I am gonna try 3 lily's in the side as apposed to the main. I replaced 4 lily's with a golgari charm, 2 fulminator mages and garruk wildspeaker. I dropped a lily in the side b/c i thought 4 was too many. So against say uwr control, i bring in 3 lily and one surgical ex. and side out 4 decay. I sat down with my deck and thought about all the "proven" deck match ups right now and realized i would probably side lily out more than half the time. So Wednesday night I'll be posting my report. Has anyone else considered putting lily in the side and main decking fulms? Oh and I am still running 2 thrun main, I can't seem to get away from that guy.

You can't really afford the cmc of 5 in the matchups you need -1/-1, it also only really impacts Treetop Village.
Dark Blast is excellent for the reasons you stated. A lot of their deck is 1 Toughness.
Darkblast kills a lot of creatures, not only in Pod, but also 1)all the Twin guys except Exarch;2)Artifact weenies in affinity;3)all UR delvers x/1s;4)some burn deck guys. The best thing is that it only cost 1 and gets back, so countering it is bad for tempo and useless most of time. Darkblast can help really. The only problem is whether it is worth a slot in the deck. I would say, right now, it deserves a slot.
Your list is very similar to mine but I only counted 58 cards in your main deck. What were the other two you played?
Those were 2 Slaughter Pacts. I edited the list above. Good catch!

A good thing to note is Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (if you use it) fixes this concern as well, letting you at least use your fetches as swamps.
