Played in a 4-round tournament at my local store. Went 3-1
ROUND 1- Elves (Won 2-0)
Game 1: Turn 4 Scapeshift
Game 2: Turn 6 Scapeshift
ROUND 2- Mono Green Infect (Won 2-1)
Game 1: He had enough to finish me with poison counters by turn 4.
Game 2: Scapeshift went off on turn 5ish. Spellskite on the board saved me big time
Game 3: Was able to get another spellskite on the board on turn 2. GG
ROUND 3- UW Eldrazi (Lost 0-2)
Game 1: Never saw a Scapeshift and was overwhelmed.
Game 2: Again, never got to see a Scapeshift. I was able to get a Primetime on the field but that was about it. He was overwhelmed by bigger, stronger Eldrazi.
ROUND 4- Jeskai Control (Won 2-0)
Game 1: Scapeshift went off. My opponent didn't seem to realize what I was playing at all.
Game 2: Valakut was able to get him down to 6 life in a long game and when I was able to finally get a Primetime onto the field I fetched for the last 2 mountains needed to finish off the last 6 points of damage.

Played a 16-man at my LGS with the list @Emracool shared a couple of posts up (-1 ancient grudge +1 fracturing gust in the SB)
ROUND 1- UW Eldrazi (2-1)
Game 1: TKS the turn before I go off takes away my scapeshift.
Game 2: turn 4 scapeshift
Game 3: survived early swarm with dismembers, baloths, anger etc. scapeshift win.
ROUND 2- Burn (2-0)
Game 1: he was on the play and didn't have enough to kill me on turn 4. I won with scapeshift on my turn 4.
Game 2: resolved 2 baloths w/o skullcrack/atarka's.
ROUND 3- UW Tron with Gifts (1-2)
Game 1: his maindeck seemed to be geared towards fighting aggro strats. he taps out, I get to scapeshift
Game 2: 2 leylines in his opening hand, never drew the fracturing gust.
Game 3: 1 leyline in his opening hand, he ends up casting 2 more. still no fracturing gust.
**went -2 grim -3 bolt -2 anger +2 relic +2 inferno titan +1 fracturing gust +2 ancient grudge**
ROUND 4- Blue Moon (2-1)
Game 1: he taps out for a turn 3 blood moon, I resolve a titan on my turn and he doesn't get to answer it in time.
Game 2: he has a counter for everything I try to cast with a clique clock.
Game 3: very grindy game he has a counter for all of my earlier threats until I get to resolve an inferno titan which he couldn't kill and swung for 13 (not including the attack trigger) thanks to his blood moon.
Ended 3-1. Leyline seems to be a thing in our LGS' meta. I'm considering upping my fracturing gust to 2 but I'm not sure if I want to cut a 2nd ancient grudge from the SB yet.
@tersx : The Inferno seems to be a great plan in a meta with lot of blood moon.

Played a small tourney (28 ppl), finished 3-2 reaching top 8 with this http://mtgdecks.net/decks/view/605204 with a little different sb (i included Inferno Titan)
R1: Naya burn 2-0
G1 i won just because i started
G2 was a weird one, won 12 life (2 baloths ans a Nature's Claim my own KHE.
R2: 2-1 auras
G1 couldnt find removal to kill the Kor and it finished my reallt fast
G2 I ramped pretty fast and Scapeshifted t4
G3 He slammed Leyline but i got the Claim in the first 7 so, ramp quickly and Scaped him t4 again.
R3: 0-2 Jeskai Ascendancy
G1 he plays BoP-》Glittering Wish-》Win when my hand was able to t4 win :/
G2 He goes BoP-》 Ascendancy hitting for 8, then i killed the bird. Two turns later, he was hitting my with another angry bird :/

G1: He mulls to 5, ive got LB and Pyroclasm yo swepth his board and won T5 i think
G2: He mulls to 5, my innitial hand was 6 lands + Anger. Two turn later found the second Anger and not so much later scape him to death.
At this point i thought i cannot make it, but i entered as the 8th seed...
TOP 8: 1-2 Eldrazi
G1: Mull to six and kept a hand with 2 mountain, Bolt, STE, S4T and Titan. He started slowly, attacked me with Muta and i snap bolted it. Found forest, play STE, the he playes TKS and ripped the Titan. Next turn, drew Scapeshift, played KHE and the sakura, laying a land (KHE +1), blocked the TKS and sac thw Sakura (KHE+2). On my turn, drew a fetch (KHE +3), sacrified the KHE and then Scapeshifted to death the turn before he beat me
G2: He went pretty fast (mimic t1, TKS taking a ramp spell T2) and there was nothing i could do. When he played the TKS he saw my Infero titan.
G3: Kept a hand with S4T, Explore and lands. Drew STE and played Explore (drawing an Inferno Titan). On his turn he plays KTS removing it and that was much gg since i flooded badly.
our LGS hosts modern thrice a week. i normally only get to play once but i'm surprisingly free tonight. will play the same list -2 ancient grudge, +2 nature's claim.
Is this deck is challenging some times and can we learn tips and small nuances in order to master it or is it just a purely linear deck ?
Thnks in advance
There are some small nuances in the playstyle. I'm aiming to update the Guide to playing the deck in the primer in the near future.
attendance wasn't as big for a PR pass pod. went 4-0
ROUND 1- UW Eldrazi (2-0)
Game 1: had anger in my opening hand. his start was t1 mimic > t2 skyspawner. no TKS/smasher til it was too late.
Game 2: even slower start for him, I keep a hand with bolt, baloth, 2 elders, 2 lands, dismember. not enough pressure this game as well.
ROUND 2- Abzan Liege (2-0)
Game 1: he keeps a 1 lander, I bolt his hierarch and he doesn't draw a second land til I'm about to win.
Game 2: his threat was a loxodon smiter with 2 hierarchs for exalted triggers, but i have 2 tribe elders to buy enough turns.
ROUND 3- Affinity (2-0)
Game 1: this guy was apparently playing his friend's deck and decided to keep a very slow hand. won with primeval and 2 khalnis online.
Game 2: my opening hand has 2 nature's claim. I get to answer his earlier threats with the claims, and draw in to a grim as well. eventually landed an inferno titan that won me the game in one swing (thanks to blood moon again).
ROUND 4- UW Tron with Gifts (same guy that beat me last time, 2-0)
Game 1: he only finds one condescend the entire game and my titan kills him.
Game 2: NO LEYLINE IN HIS OPENING HAND. he only has 1 island and 1 talisman as colored sources, I nature's claim the talisman in resp to an EOT gifts. he searches up 2 tron lands and 2 white sources, I put both white sources in the gy. he casts the new kozilek to draw to 7 and passes the turn leaving just 1 blue mana up. I cast pact on my turn trying to fetch a titan and just plan to win via stuff he can't counter but he counters my pact with a land didn't realize he could do that. Had inferno titan and scapeshift left in my hand and eventually just decided to go for the scapeshift banking on him not having a 4-drop in his hand. he doesn't.
Ah, the blood moon makes sense. And I had skimmed that side padding guide a little but since the main deck was different enough from mine and the sideboard had some stuff I don't run, I didn't read too much into it. I'll probably look over it closer when I'm not in finals week
Thien actually took the list to GP Detroit but cut the 2 relic for swagtasks because they are better against eldrazi (though he said he would just add the relics back post ban). He went 10-6 losing to infect and UW eldrazi (3x and one time scooped to a friend of his) and he beat UW Eldrazi 4 timds and beat jund merfolk and affinity.
I am keeping the relics personally. Also, I have not had much of a problem with leyline personally. If I know leylines coming in, the value creature plan is key. That said, Im considering Natures claim for flexibility but I have not felt the inherent need for it. Thien also has swung through it in his experience. He feels its unnecessary as well
Free Win Red: -4 Scapeshift -2 Anger of the Gods +2 Inferno Titan +3 Obstinate Baloth +1 Relic of Progenitus
Hi,
thanks for the guide, it's really comprehensive. I haven't read this thread for a while and tryin to catch up a bit....
So, this Free Win Red deck, I had to look it up, it's a deck that looks to put a turn 2 Blood Moon/Magus of the Moon onto the battlefield and win from there, mainly through Chandra and Koth. But it also plays Ensnaring Bridge! So why would you board in more creatures, but not Ancient Grudge? Relic of Progenitus doesn't seem to disrupt Free Win Red in any way and I am not sure that Bolt or Lava Mancer is important in that matchup, so I would probably cut some of those for Grudge?
You know this is a reasonable point. Relic was more so for some sort of potential card draw and I had not thought about it. I think its correct to cut the lavamancers and instead of the relic bring in the ancient grudge. I will most certainly edit that right now good catch ! I am keeping bolt in to get rid of the magus while being some potential removal for whatever they have.
I was wondering what you all thought of our matchup against Lantern Control? A buddy of mine has been playing it and it seems to cause me some troubles. Thoughts?

Hi All,
Kinda late to the party, but any reason why Prismatic Omen has fallen out of favor? Now that 'Twin' is gone, the format has slowed by a turn or two. That said, Omen still gives us a T4 win because every Valakut is a Mountain. And again, because we can usually hit 6 mana by T4, Omen still gives a hardcast P.Time 4 Valakut triggers which is usually enough to fix the board and set us in control. While we are technically a combo deck, I think agree that a bit more main board wipes helps a lot. I feel like a lot of the recent discussion has been the strength of different sideboard cards. Yes, the Modern scene has changed a bit, so how do we adapt? I still like Commune with Lava but more than a 2-of seems wrong. In that same vein, Anger of the Gods seems like it needs more main since it wipes a lot. With all the new Melira/CoCo/Finks/stuff running about the exile is very relevant.
I'll edit with my current list in the(my?) morning, but just wanted to ask about Omen.
*As for Lantern Control, Ancient Grudge does decent work. You can also run Wheel of Sun and Moon if you are really scared of Lantern or Mill

"You are what you pretend to be, so you must be careful what you pretend to be" from Mother Night
Yeah from the last few times I've played, I noticed the claims weren't as necessary as the possible 2-for-1s a grudge could do. But yeah it was pretty much a meta call on my part since my LGS seems to have a lot of leylines hagning around in people's sideboards.

Hey! If you can check back like a page or two, look for @Emracool's post with the long 'guide' on sideboarding.
The inferno titan is a pretty good choice when you want to go more threat heavy, and is generally good against decks that would run blood moon imo.
