You could win some games in a FNM setting, but I don't think it's a viable Modern deck. You could build it different ways, so a decklist would help.
You could go straight aggro, but the deck is probably too slow and lacks the muscle to really go over the top of other Modern decks if you do make it past the early game.
You could go more of a control route with Blood Moon, spot removal, land destruction, discard etc. and use a smaller number of vampires for beatdown once the board is stabilized.
I also like Vampire tribal. It would be great to see a card get printed that could push it over the top. The only real tribal decks out there are Eldrazi and Merfolk. The game could benefit from more tribal in the competitive scene.
