If you feel comfortable goldfishing consistent turn 4s with the deck the painlands shouldn't be awful. however you affinity matchup and burn/zoo (if you see it) will get a bit harder.

We probe each other a bunch of times. I see Cryptic Commands, Remands, Vapor Snag. I go to cast Pyromancer, he remands it. I recast it, he vapor snags his snapcaster mage, the pitches it to shoal. Unfortunately i still have Goblin Electromancer, and after multiple Past in Flames i find Grapeshot.
Game 2 he doesnt side correctly and i get him
Round 3 BG deck
Game 1 he crushes me with discard followed by scooze after i draw all basic islands
Game 2 side in blood moon and land it turn 2. he scoops
Game 3 he fetches for all his basics but i kill him once he taps out
Round 4 Kiki Pod
Im not very good against this matchup
Game 1 kills quickly with combo after usin chord to grab spellskite and protect his birds from grapeshots
Game 2 i waste grapeshot too early on Voice. not a good idea. He brings out the new enchantment creature rule of law and backs it up with a spellskite. cant get around that
Pod is strong and we cant use Cage to disrupt them. Gonna need some advice vs this
Round 5 Twin
Game 1 twins me turn 4, i cant react pre board
Game 2 Echoing Truth disrupts his combo and i get it
Game 3 Make a bunch of goblins turn 3. echoing truh backup
Ok so went 4-1 got some prize money, bought more blood moons.
I still need help vs Pod, that deck is scary. Maybe i need Anger of the Gods?
Anger is good against the pod beatdown. Sometimes I side in bloodmoon and just bolt there mana dorks. I have also started boarding in echoing truth. The pod deck in my meta has started bringing the eidilon so I needed an answer to that and didn't want to start boarding flame slash yet. Some games feel unwinable. There was a game when I was on the draw, he played a turn one bird. I probe him my turn one and I see, thoughtseize, eidilon, trinisphere along with the land for three mana. That was the most tilting game three hand I had ever seen. Kiki pod can be even worse because they can board counters and give a pretty good clock. Thanks for the report, glad you were able to beat ad naus and B/G.

So I've been playing finkles list for a few weeks now with done pretty good success in my local tournaments but have a huge issue: I've lost every single game I've ever played against burn. I want to play storm at the gp but am nervous with only one bye I'll see burn a good amount. I've got everything to build the burn deck back up I just hate playing with it. What do you guys think, should I last minute audible before this weekend?
Edit: forgot to mention been trying out illusory Angel out of the board with some great success. It's phenomenal in the uwr matchups as well as most of the fair decks
@BillionDegree You can try it personally I have never been a fan of main deck bolts, but I know a couple people who do like it. If you want to run anger out of the sideboard you could probably shave a shatterstorm/bolt/blood moon and a defense grid if you never see U/W/R control.
@willoniel Burn is a 50/50 matchup, really just have to go off as fast as possible. After board I think it get a bit easier because we can speed up our goldfish and kill troublesome things like guide and devil with bolts. The Illusory angel looks interesting, but how do you get to casting it against the control deck? Do they just let it resolve? or do you just try to turn two it? It seems like it could do work, I just don't see why it is better than empty.

I know this deck won't be AS good without the fetches, but is it enough hindrance to deter me from playing this deck?
I only have one Scalding Tarn as of now, and I have quite a few events coming up - so I'm wondering if I should pick up the rest of this deck.
You will probably be fine, you just need to goldfish it a bit. Theres only two differences between fetch and fetchless. Fetchless you sometimes get rough color hands, and you are more likely to draw lands during your combo, but on the turn three/four kills the stats are pretty close.

Yeah, I'll lose a few percentage points here and there - thanks for your help.
I usually slam it turn two or three hopefully after they've tapped out for rip.the only upside I've found to warrens is not getting blown out by anger. I've found it creates an awkward situation for your opponent where the board plan they had doesn't match up with what they are facing and they often make suboptimal decisions. I tend to still bring in empty but get to wait a couple extra turns to cast it
@GhostEmpire NP that's how I started playing the deck years ago.
@Willoneil That's an interesting strategy. I guess the issue I always have against control is they don't ever tap out for me at all. What does your sideboard look like? What place does the angel take?

i have no clue what you're talking about... im running 4 cities (mana confluence, same thing).
lets all hope i never get paired against affinity or burn today
Tarn thins your deck, usually costs you less life, and fetches basics in case of Blood Moon. I'd definitely run Tarn if I had to choose.
I second this. Better control over your life total is huge. Since a lot of list sideboard blood moon having an island is also very nice, and with how many cards we draw we actually can see the benefits of thinning.
