So yeah, i've become popular using this deck. Now everyone splashed green for back to nature. Can I side Heroic Intervention to counter their anti enchantment cards?
My meta is:
Mono green elves
Naya burn
MBC (splashed green because of me)
Mono green tooth and nail tron
Bant eldrazi
RDW

You could. The hexproof won't matter, but the indestructability is applicable.

I run sram as tech. Using 2 sram and 2 spiritdancer. Even spot removal could help these two with all permanents becoming hexproof
Interesting; I was mulling over a 2/2 split of Sram to spiritdancer as well, but haven't had much time to play and test it out. What're your thoughts on the split compared to the typical 4 spiritdancers? But yes, Heroic Intervention's hexproof granting would save Sram/dancer from a bolt/path. It's still not something we'd typically want to main board, but if your meta is packing enchantment hate specifically aimed at countering your game plan, then I'd say it's definitely worth considering in the main. That's the achilles heel of Bogles; it's incredibly easy to hate out if your opponents are expecting it. Hopefully nobody at your shop ever discovers Aura Barbs...
Sram is almost always worse than Spiritdancer and it would be a big mistake to play him in this deck unless you want 5 of them for some reason.
As for the Glistener Elf plan, it bears repeating that even good players will almost always keep in removal spells. The first reason is that many removal spells have secondary purposes. Lightning Bolt/Tarfire/Galvanic Blast goes to the face, as does Kolaghan's Command that also provides discard/return creature. Cryptic Command/Abrupt Decay are kept for obvious reasons and even cards like Path to Exile/Dismember/Fatal Push/Vapor Snag are frequently kept in as a way to handle Kor Spiritdancer, Dryad Arbor or various sideboard cards like Gaddock Teeg/Spellskite. Finally, many decks play something like 8-12 removal spells and simply don't have that many relevant cards to bring in. All in all, the Glistener Elf plan is extremely risky and unlike with Kor Spiritdancer the reward for risking an unprotected creature isn't actually that huge. You still have all of the normal problems of needing lifelink to beat aggro, evasion to get through chumpers and extra creatures to protect against sacrifice effects. The only thing you gain is a little bit of tempo in the few situations where you end up in a straight up race.
Remember that even with a tracking with a 1/1 and a asked up Bogle, if they chump the 1/1, they can still blessed alliance during the combat damage step.... feels bad.
I've had good experience with mana tithe... If we don't run it we've got no answer to cards like deflecting palm, skullcrack (where lifelink is in play), blessed alliance, liliana or back to nature. It should be brought in game 2 or 3 when on the play... T1 bogle, T2 hyena umbra is ideal leaving 1 mana open (preferably leaving an uncracked fetch) for anything nasty while attacking with the 2/2 first strike. All the nasty stuff above costs 2/3 mana so it's a massive tempo loss for them. After that you need to start thinking about sacrifice effects on attacking like blessed alliance or whether they're going to drop a lilli- this matters about your decision to go tall or go wide. Going wide against burn G2/3 seems good if they run deflecting palm.
Blessed alliance is the biggy for me at the moment... With Lilliana at least you can crack a fetch for dryad arbor in response but blessed alliance requires a blind gamble of attacking with two creatures (gamble because one of them will likely be a 1/1 that'll get blocked and killed) and requires a little more time to setup/anticipate. Can always put a totem armor on the 1/1 but its tough to decide whether that's over extending or not without the context of a match environment!
Ramble ramble ramble! And they say playing bogles is easy!
Agree with your points. I find that Tithe is all about getting some play against other un-interactive decks; it is good against combo - I have never really seen an Ad Nauseum player not try and stick it as soon as humanly possible. Mana tithed that dude last week! It can be very good against a deck like sun and moon - I have passed before turn 1 leaving up a fetch in order to tithe the t1 chalice I had put him on. Basically it is always kind of good for us because no reasonable player is playing around tithe lol. It will get a scapeshift player. etc etc.
I'm currently trying a bit of spice out in 2x ghostly prison (1 MB and 1 SB) and 1x choke SB. Anyone got experience with these?
I'm a big proponent of Prison. I ran the same split alongside Suppression Field back when Twin was legal, but I cut them both once Twin got the banhammer. Due to my meta being comprised of a ton of aggro, I went back to 1x Prison MB and it does its job. Not the best top-deck late game, but due to where we're positioned in the metagame, I've found it necessary to pack a few MB tricks in order to keep my opponents guessing. As far as Choke goes, that's gonna be a meta call; I used to run it out the side and it just wasn't very relevant in my meta.
I guess I haven't really given Tithe another chance since I stopped running it during that same time period, so maybe I'll go dust off a few and add them to the 75. The biggest issue I ran into while playing it was deck consistency; we're notorious for mulling opening hands and it wasn't worth the bad draws at the time. However, I definitely see how it'd be handy to have against threats like Deflecting Palm and Blessed Alliance; I always manage to get hosed by Palm when playing burn, but I honestly don't think I've run into many B. Alliances the last few times I've played. Either way, doesn't hurt to play test. If I do start playing around with tithe again, I feel like it may be necessary to start running Keen Sense again as well in order to make up for dead draws; I was never a huge fan of the card since it doesn't buff our bogle, but we really don't have many options when it cones to card draw. I run a set of Canopies, but have been playing with only two spiritdancers as of late, so Keen Sense as a 1 of may be the right move.
On a different note, I'm curious as to everyone's thoughts on lifecrafter's bestiary? At first glance, it seemed like too cute of a card that detracts from our game plan, but now I'm wondering if it could have a place. I run the "pokedex" in my Elves deck and it's been an all-star for me; yes, Elves plays way more creatures than we do, but I know I've had plenty of late games where I'm in position to end it, but have an aura-less hand and get stuck in top-deck mode. It's situations like these where I would've found the pokedex immensely helpful.
So I've been creeping this forum for years and have finally decided to join and participate. Ive been playing Bogles for about 2 years and recently just took it to a major tournament for the first time a couple of weeks ago at the SCG Indianapolis open. Spoiler alert.. I made day 2 and will be a Bogles player for life.

My thought was that I wanted to punish greedy mana bases with supression field. It's great against decks like Abzan Jund Death's Shadow Grixis etc. Sadly I barely faced any of those match ups and it felt like 3 maindeck blanks. In hindsight I would adjust the mana base back to more fetches and take out the Fields for

Sideboard was great. Only the Rest in peaces weren't used and that's cause I didn't play dredge or Death's Shadow for 15 rounds.
Mini Tourney Report
Rd 1 W 2-1 vs Titanshift (1-0) Life gain and Leylines out of the board won me this one.
Rd 2 W 2-1 vs UR Ensoul Artifact (2-0) all 3 games I faced turn 1 vault skirge turn 2 Ensoul Artifact. Life gain and seals were just too much. Really wished I had a spirit link in the main and only 2 rounds in.
Rd 3 W 2-0 vs Titanshift (3-0) 2 very quick games. Was the first person to turn in a match slip.
Rd 4 L 1-2 vs Jeskai Control (3-1) got game one like I should. Was in great shape game 2 but got burned out from 12. Game 3 my Bogles and Umbra couldn't get around Anger of the Gods, Supreme Verdict, Supreme Verdict in consecutive turns.
Rd 5 W 2-1 vs Merfolk (4-1) lost game 2 to my mana base and spreading seas but steamrolled the other games.
Rd 6 W 2-1 vs Bogles (5-1) wasn't expecting the mirror. Ended up keeping a Ledgewalker draw on the draw and scooped turn 2 with only showing a temple garden to a Bogle with double ethereal armor. This prevented him from sideboarding. I got game 2 and before game 3 he went to his board. I brought in the glistner elves and hoped he took out his paths and it worked.
Rd 7 L 0-2 vs Goblins (5-2) nothing much to say here. He had fast starts and atarkas commands to stop my life gain.
Rd 8 W 2-1 vs Bant Spirits (6-2) Glistner elves got me the win in game 3 after he went turn 1 mausoleum wanderer turn 2 double wanderer turn 3 drogskol captain. Alot of blocking in this match
Rd 9 W 2-0 vs Revolt Zoo (7-2) he mulled to 5 both games. This meant that I was one of the 79 players to advance and one of the 3 bogles players in day 2. Also this was my first major tourney day 2.
Rd 10 L 1-2 vs Burn (7-3) I hate deflecting palm. Game 3 was insane and drew a crowd as we played draw go for 20 turns. Game ended as I attempted to swing to force a game 4 with 2 giant bogles after he blew up one of my 2 Leylines and had 6 cards in hand. Felt I had to do somethin.
Rd 11 W 2-0 vs Traditional Jund (8-3) ive played this match up alot over the years and know how to play it well.
Rd 12 L 0-2 vs Merfolk (8-4) mulls and mana screw both games
Rd 13 W 2-1 vs 4 color company (9-4) grind games with alot of blocking. Trample and lifegain were too much in the end
Rd 14 L 1-2 vs Traditional Jund (9-5) wrecked in games 2 and 3 by kozileks return. Enough said.
Rd 15 W 2-0 vs Merfolk (10-5) he fell pray to mulligans and I walked all over him
So I finished in 49th place and managed to cash. Whay a great day and the deck was great even though I didn't play the expected field. I look forward to discussing the deck with you all.

That is a quality result and thank you for the write up.
If it is OK, I have a few questions to discuss with an experienced Bogler!:
1. I have always done very poorly against burn. I think the problem was that I would have a loaded hand and try to race. My new thinking is that in the Burn matchup, my goal is to leave my boggles on defense until I secure lifelink. Does that sound right to you? I have tried going wide but it isn't easy in our deck. Do you like Kor Spiritdancer in this matchup? I have found the times when there is a window to stick him and enchant him, he is a house.
2. Against merfolk do you bother with seal of primordium for aether vial / spreading sea's? I am coming to the conclusion we do need access to seal of primordium in the matchup, but more for spreading seas than vial. Both to fix our mana and to keep opponent from island walking us to death.
3. What is the texture of glistener elves against the mirror? I am currently liking the package though sometimes they just sit in the board. I was able to bring them in at a tcgplayer 1k last weekend against mono-u tron... t1 glistener, t2 rancor rancor - tron scoops.
4. I agree with bringing back the spirit link. I took 1 out of my deck for an unflinching courage but I also brought in a open the armory.... I found myself wishing I could have opened the armory for a spirit link the one time I drew it in the tourney.
5. Which leads me to this - how is everyone feeling about open the armory? I am back on a 1 of because I feel like spirit mantle is SO good right now, but there is no way I am running 3 in my deck.

1.First Leyline from the board is super important. I don't like the Spirit dancer in game 1 as something to rely on cause they still have dedicated creature burn in. In games 2 and 3 I think my new strategy is to go wide with medium size Bogles to get blown out by Deflecting Palm.
2. Yes I bring in atleast one Seal against Merfolk. I only boarded in 1 along with the 4th path and the spirit link. Im with you the Seas is a huge threat and in all 3 of my individual game loses at this tourney it was because of Sea and natural mana screw.
3.I only boarded them in game 3 in the mirror due to the weird sideboard situation caused by early game 1 scoop. I left 2 paths in just in case he boarded his in. The elves are going to start losing effectiveness now that it's something people think we might have in the board.
4.Spirit Link was easily my most used sideboard card. I recommend 1 main and an extra in the board. Especially with Open in your deck. Courage costs 3 and I found that hurt far too much especially if your on a Spiritdancer or Ledgewalker hand.
5.Completely agree. Open is great as a 1 of. It gets you the totem armor trample flying unblock able or lifelink. Which ever one is enough for the win.

I agree. Against Burn, you have to be very careful if you can. I do in fact leave the Bogle for blocking if the race, considering burn in hand, doesn't favor me. But it also doesn't favor you to get burned out either, so it's a delicate balance, made easier if you have Kor Spiritdancer in play because you can hope to find lifelink more reliably.
Against Merfolk, I feel that the artifact destruction is super important. I consider it mainly for Vial, but it can be used on the Seas or possible Spellskites in a pinch. Merfolk can occasionally keep a hand that is vulnerable to Vial destruction, be it colorless lands or few lands. I've also won by doing Nature's Claim on my own Aura to stop lethal and win on the swing back. It probably won't happen too often because of their 1,000 Lords in the deck, but it is slightly possible.
I've never tried Glistener Elf before, but it seems interesting vs. noninteractive goldfish-type decks.
I'm surprised that you like Spirit Link so much. I have found it to be subpar, although a necessity due to how good it is against Burn on turn 2.
So I played a MNM with 4 rounds. I haven't played Bogles in quite a while. A player at my LGS made a comment that I am usually on Bogles and I felt that he insinuated that I have only done well with Bogles. Which isn't true, BTW, since I've done well with Storm, Scapeshift, Grishoalbrand, UR Eldrazi, and Dredge as well. Not to mention, I have a pretty good win percentage in Modern (kavu.ru) for how many different sub Tier 1 decks I play. I shouldn't have taken it to heart...
Round 1 vs. Grixis Delver. Typical game. Some Delvers flip right away and I am low on life when I run out my turn 3 Daybreak Coronet and get the scoop. In the next game, she mulled to 5 and had mostly lands. I had mostly Bogles and Kor Spiritdancers, so it was super easy to rebuild from the Engineered Explosives. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Grixis Delver. Typical game. He gets Delver right away and keeps swinging while I try to race him with a Dryad Arbor with Rancor. I draw mostly lands and can't get it bigger after Spirit Mantle on it is Mana Leaked. In the middle game, he does turn 1 Serum Visions. No 3/2 flying on turn 2! I get a solid Bogle and find Daybreak Coronet that I probably didn't need to race a Snapcaster Mage and Tasigur. Some chumps later, I win. In the last game, he makes a mistake of not putting the correct card on top after a turn 1 Delver didn't naturally flip. This costs him 4 damage over 2 turns and is the difference in the game as I draw mostly lands again. In the end, it goes back and forth, but after some chumping by both of us, he dies to a large Bogle. Pretty sure that he would have won if he flipped it on turn 3 since I drew 5 lands in a row on 3 turns (2 Horizon Canopy in there too). 2-1.
Round 3 vs. Titan Shift. In the first game, I mull and never get past 1 land. He naturally curves to Scapeshift a couple of turns slower than the quickest goldfish. In the next game, he has an awkward hand and a large Dryad Arbor gets there. I'm pretty sure if he sequenced him plays differently, he could have Nature's Claim on my Umbra, then Bolt away the Dryad Arbor. My turn 2 was fetch and put Ethereal Armor and Spider Umbra on my Arbor instead of attacking to protect it. After he used 3 Bolts to knock off 2 Umbras, I put out Kor Spiritdancer and he finished him off. In the last game, I turn 0 Leyline of Sanctity X 2. I also have Bogle and 2 Auras and get to work, saving my Gaddock Teeg for an opportune time. He doesn't get anything to interact and the Bogle slowly chips him away until a Kor Spiritdancer joins him after he sweeps another Bogle and Kor Spiritdancer. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Naya Burn. In the first game, he does Skullcrack for my turn 3 Daybreak Coronet and Lightning Bolt and Boros Charm finish me off. It is similar in the 2nd game, except he scooped with 2 cards in hand (presumably NOT Boros Charm and Lightning Bolt). In the last game, he gets me low, then goes for Deflecting Palm with 2 cards in hand and me at 9 life. I am forced to Path to Exile my own Bogle for basic Forest, but I rebuild with another and Rancor/Ethereal Armor from hand after I take a Monastery Swiftspear attack on his turn. I suit him up and go for next turn lethal with Path to Exile now in hand after the draw step. He gets another land and scoops. The next 2 cards were Skullcrack, but I show him the Path to Exile in hand to be safe at 4 life from the potential Swiftspear attack. 2-1.
I go 4-0 for 1st place! 0-4 on die rolls.
*I know this is going to sound so sketchy, but does anyone have an advice on choosing who is on the play? I literally am to the point where I will not allow evens/odds because I have no chance to win. Still, doing die rolls, high or low, usually has net me the same result. A few months ago, I was on a super hot streak of winning nearly 40% of my die rolls. But after going 3/27 in die rolls in the span of 6 tournaments (17-13 in matches), I have reverted to my "normal" 20 something percent. It is literally to the point that I barely know how to play when I am on the play because my matches don't give me much experience. I know everyone says it's 50% for people all the time, but those players that say that usually are at 50% or above, so it's much easier for them to say it. For me to say it is that way for ALL players is a flat out lie. Probably should just shut up and enjoy always drawing the extra card.

Depends. Traditional lists usually run two, but that number fluctuates depending on meta (e.g. more copies in response to players who play Chalice on 1) and personal preference. I rarely ever run less than two because I see a lot of chalice, so I've had to adjust my list with more 2cmc alternatives. It's a great effect, but a lot of lists have opted for Gryff's Boon as their choice evasion aura.
And folks thought I was nuts for wanting to play Glistener Elf in the SB.... Anyone happen to know why this list would want to run a singleton lifelink in the SB rather than an additional spirit link?

Any reason I can think of to run Lifelink involves very fringe situations like against Nevermore or Cranial Extraction or False Cure. Why wouldn't you want double lifegain.?

There are two things I can think of. The first is simply that if you are blocking Lifelink lets you gain the life simultaneously with the combat damage while a trigger could leave you dead before you gain the life. The second is that Rain of Gore stops the trigger from Spirit Link but not lifelink. Still, the possibility of double life gain should far outweigh these factors and a more likely explanation is that he was unable to acquire more Spirit Links or didn't fully understand the difference.

It will get a scapeshift player. etc etc.

4 Glade cover Scout
2 Silhana Ledgewalker
2 Kor Spiritdancer
Non Aura Spells 6
3 Path to Exile
3 Supression Field
Auras 22
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Daybreak Coronet
4 Rancor
3 Hyena Umbra
2 Spirit Mantle
4 Spider Umbra
1 Gryff's Boon
Sideboard 15
4 Leyline of Sanctity
4 Glistner Elf
2 Rest in Peace
1 Stoney Silence
2 Seal of Primordium
1 Path to Exile
1 Spirit Link
My thought was that I wanted to punish greedy mana bases with supression field. It's great against decks like Abzan Jund Death's Shadow Grixis etc. Sadly I barely faced any of those match ups and it felt like 3 maindeck blanks. In hindsight I would adjust the mana base back to more fetches and take out the Fields for
1 Hyena Umbra
1 Spirit Link
1 Open the Armory
