Has this been said before? It's probably been said before. Probably no one cares, at least that's what it seems like.
If I'm in a tournament (say, a constructed daily) and I'm out of the running for prizes (say, I have two losses), and I'm still playing the tournament... guess what? I'm there because I still want to play Magic: the Gathering. If you don't want to play Magic: the Gathering... maybe you could drop?
Sincerely,
Every Frustrated 0-2-not-drop player ever.
Thanks.

I absolutely get what you're saying here, though I didn't know about the situation since I always drop at X-2. On the other hand though, I don't really like it when I'm paired down against people that are X-2 and end up playing a match where I'm the only one who can win anything. If it's the last round of the Daily Event, I often end up bargaining for boosters if I lose the match against someone who's at 1-2, which can be frustrating since it feels wrong. That may just be some screwed up mentality though, considering that both I and my opponent is in effect at 2-2 at that point.
How do you feel about this when you get paired up with people who can still win prizes? Especially when you're 0-2, where arranging what is in many ways a bribe to get a concession is more awkward than in the last round.
I know for sure that there is no sweeter thing for a real grinder to get a Bye at 2-1 in a 16-player DE, because someone dropped at X-1 and screwed up the pairings. With the polar opposite being the excact same situation, except that I get paired against someone at 1-2 instead
I've argued with people over the number of cards in a deck many times, and I feel that having a high number of "good cards" is better than having a small number of "really good" cards. I laugh at the people who argue that with a smaller deck you're more likely to draw what you need, because if you get in that situation you're gonna NOT end up drawing it many many more times than you would.
Personally if I knew my opponent was in and I was out, I'd concede; I'd like it if my opponent did the same if I was in that situation. If you really want to play the match when you're paired up, especially in the last round, I'll gladly challenge you after the event! (After all I'd budgeted the time for the event anyway)

You're saying the game starts and you are 0-2 but the guy isn't there and times out?
I've had problems with the beta client recently where I thought I dropped and it started another game anyway. I said, why not play it and about 3-4 min later he scoops.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

Basically every time. I get the match on my opponent's inactivity. I mean I like free wins and all, but I don't really care about the win once it doesn't affect my ability to win prizes.
