Hey guys, I wanna share a format that is popular in my city for years and that me and my friends modified to have more fast paced games.
We called it Super Deck II (variant of the original Super deck)
Intro:
-We (8 IRL friends) have been playing magic since 1998 or so, and while we liked to build our decks and play "normal" games, we ended up to get bored at some point and quit magic altogether, we always had these weak cards that were giant monsters and we wished were playable in normal games but they were just impossible to cast, and only dreamed about the combos you could get with them. So we came across this format called the Super Deck, which I'll explain briefly.
Super Deck Original:
-Not sure who invented it but it had some simple solutions to me and my casual friends problems, there was no individual deck anymore, you set a box of cards of what you considered "best multiplayer / best bugdet cards) with some balance between creatures, sorceries, instants, enchantments and artifacts, but no lands at all. Each player picks a bunch of cards of the box and that's your game's deck, then you draw 7 cards like normal and once per turn you exile a card in your hand to put a land that is all type of basic land cards, i.e it can produce any color of mana. This way you can play any card in your hand without getting worried about about mana curves and also let you play those 3-4-5 color cards that were almost impossible to cast in casual decks. All other rules of normal games applied.
Super deck II:
-We tried normal rules of super deck for some months but game felt still slow, so we changed the amount of mana the lands produced to make the games faster, we tried 2 manas per lands and the game was hell more fun, it changed the strats a lot, people had to think very carefully starting at turn 3 (6 manas) because stuff can make you go from 20 to 0 in 1 turn like those resurrected eldrazis with haste and double strike... So we thought that increasing the mana will make it even funnier, we tried 3 mana per lands, 4 mana per lands but it didnt work, it was actually way more unbalanced that way, so we moved back to 2 mana per land and it's still working very good.
-So to sumarize we added some rules:
the land will produce 2 of any kind of the mana it can produce aka 2 of any color
if a land will leave the battlefield it is removed forever, so players need to think carefully what are they exiling to become a land.
no player can lose from out of deck cards, he can simple grab another bunch of cards out of the super deck, this is because the idea of this format is to hit your opponents as hard as you can with card you don't normally play, we dont think milling is good here.
cards that make you look for lands from deck and discard the rest to the graveyards can't be played since it will make a loop.
if a card says "destroy all mountains" all lands in game will be destroyed since all lands in this format are all basic land types.
there are no limit of cards your superdeck can have but we try to balance it, like if we have lots and lots of creatures in many games, we add more nukes (wrath of god cards) and so on.
We limit the quantity of game breaking cards like biorythm to 1 or 2 but that's just us.
All other rules from magic regular games / 2HG games and multiplayer games apply
Cool things from playing this format:
lots and lots of fun
you get to play expensive (mana cost) cards that you dont actually play anywhere else
every game is different, winning is somehow based on skill+luck+no pissing your friends too much
imaging attacking with that 13/13 that you never ever used and it suddendly gains +2/+2 with flying and double strike from your opponents who want to kill the defending player who was talking too much this game
Everyone can increase the superdeck adding their own cards, we have over 1500 cards in our super deck and we usually play 4-6 players from free for all to 2v2v2 teams
Suggested cards
-if you wanna start this with your friends, you can start by adding your non used cards to it but I suggest buying some cheap cards that the game more enjoyable, all cards with "each opponent" "your opponents" and so on, make the game very dynamic.

Hi there ! im the one who invented the "superdeck" mode. I love who it has been spread to other countries. Im from peru. I wanted to say in your explanation of superdeck that you dont actually exile a card to put it as land. you actually put face down the card you choose from your hand and use it as a normal land wich gives you any type of mana. They are treated as normal lands. (so a tsunami would destroy them all but special lands) Of course you can have special lands on your superdeck and you choose it to put them face up or face down depending your strategy.
I quitted MTG in 2002 and since then ive only played superdeck with some friends who actually got bored of the game. this all superdeck idea gives you the opportunity on making more combos that are hard to get in normal decks and use cards you wouldnt ever put in a normal deck. I normally play with a superdeck of around 450 cards. I ve even made up some other cards that i use them on the superdeck.
Any question you can contact me josedominguez100@hotmail.com
thanks!

I'm planning to make a video of us playing with some highlights to enjoy the face of defeat of my friends.
Thanks for reading! I'll keep adding stuff as we move forward.
PD: We had some good laughs today as 5 ffa multiplayer, turn 4, gisela, blade of goldnight on player A, player B casts breath of malfegor and responds with a reverberate killing 3 opponents
