thanks for the feedback. i'm still not convinced, regardless of the ability to close out long games, i'd still rather have more explosives starts which control decks can't answer to (again, for the lack of good sweepers in pauper).

Played two dailies today, the first one I bombed 0-2 but I got to face a fellow forum goer (he went 3-1) which is always fun. (looking forward too your post mate) then another one in which I went 3-1 in.
+02x Duress

I can't remember much about the first daily other that than I got crushed by monogreen post. Game 1 I played a bunch of 4/4s and he played a bunch of 2/3s (Llanowar Sentinel) and he died in short order. At this point I had no idea what he was doing, but looking over my sideboard, I don't really think I had anything to side in.
Game 2 was a comedy of errors and I learned a lot of things about some cards. First off, Galvanic Blast only does 2 damage if you don't control 3 artifacts Second, Serrated Arrows goes to graveyard during their upkeep, not whenever is has no counters on it. Third, Fangren Marauder is pretty good against affinity. Who knew.
Game 3 I had a weak draw and he played 3 Fangren Marauders.
So the daily I remember went like this:
R1 vs our own MDU in the Affinity mirror
G1 I draw more 4/4s and have removal.
+3 Gorilla Shaman
+4 Electrostatic Bolt
-3 Porcelain Legionnaire
-4 Frogmite
In my opinion, if it can't attack through or trade with a 4/4, it shouldn't be in my deck in this matchup. Disciple and Shaman get a pass because they are capable of winning the MU outright.
G2 he keeps a one lander, proceeds to flood, but still cant cast the Ancient Grudge in his hand. Rough beats.
R2 vs UR post
G1 I draw 7 4/4s but has the removal for all of them or Mystical Teachings for it.
+3 Duress
-3 Porcelain Legionnaire
I'm not sure if the Legionnaire is worse than Disciple, but one of those two cards should be coming out for Duress.
G2 his hand is 2 mountains and monoremoval but doesn't have any blue or card advantage and my atogs win the day.
G3 I draw 3 land and he draws 3 Ancient Grudges. I can't cast anything and lose.
R3 vs UR Clout of the Dominus
His deck was weird. It was filled with UR hybrid cards like Frostburn Weird and Noggle Bandit and he put Clout on them and tried to get me. It also had a bunch of counterspells and draw like a Delver deck. His deck seemed like it was working to perfection but his creatures still matched up poorly against my 4/4s and atogs and I pretty easily 2-0 him.
R4 vs UR post
G1 I play an atog and some other random creatures and taps out to kill my nonatog guy. I Blast his face and make my atog a 19/20.
+3 Duress
-3 Porcelain Legionnaire
G2 I Duress away his key Flame Slash and Hydroblast. He is light on actual card advantage allowing me to Blast his face and make my atog a 19/20.
I'm not sure cutting the Husk and Terrarion is a great idea, I'm beginning to think cutting Carapace Forger is the better call since you need the affinity numbers to recover from fissure.
Note: this will be my last Magic Game for a little while, hopefully other players will post more (but I don't see that happening).
My sideboard is a little bit cheaper but Gorilla Shaman is still about 6 tix a piece and only good in the affinity mirror. You could cut them and put in ancient grudge instead which also reasonable in a few other match ups like Delver and Post.
My sideboard for Upost is just +3 Duress, -3 Disciple of the Vault. I feel that the Disciples poor attacking ability make it the weakest creature for the match up. Affinity is clearly the way we gain an advantage over them so I don;t want to side out my usual suspects of Porcelain Legionnaire, Somber Hoverguard, and Frogmite. I also wouldn't hate cutting an Atog or two because of the high number of bounce spells they run.
I would also note that you never want to side out Galvanic Blast. It is your best answer to their Ghostly Flicker combos and killing their Mnemonic Wall.

I'll have to disagree about Disciple of the Vault, I find that U-Post is really good at delaying combat damage that any form of direct damage is a blessing (having Vaults in play also makes Fade Away less painful).

Personally I usually cut some number of Disciple of the Vaults in Post matchups (except against the U/G variants since they run a bunch of Chromatic Stars/Spheres and Expedition Maps that Disciple is good against). It's either Disciple or Galvanic Blast coming out (they're the weakest cards in the deck against Post decks) and I find Galvanic Blast better because a) 4 damage is usually more than Disciple can ever hope to do unless you draw Atog alongside it and b) Galvanic Blast gives you additional ways to break up Flicker-Wall or any Cloud of Faeries nonsense out of Fissure Post which is of importance. I also don't want anything to do with Fling in a matchup where the opponent can just Hydroblast it so those can come out too. Against Fissure or Simic Post Atog-Fling is okay game 1 since they generally don't run permission maindeck, but expecting that to work in sideboarded games is extremely wishful thinking. Against Izzet Post it's not even very good in game 1 since they typically run Prohibit and Condescend as ways to interact at the least.
Generally if you're playing a stock list I like something like:
-2 Fling
-1 Krark-Clan Shaman (if you run one main)
-(1+X) Disciple
+4 Pyroblast
+X Duress
Possibly bring in Doom Blade depending on what they're doing. Against Fissure it's another way to interact with their Clouds/Walls, it can also take out Crusher if that's what they're relying on as their wincon. Against the Simic variants especially Doom Blade is pretty important to stop Fangren Marauder from taking over the game. Wouldn't bother with it for Izzet Post.
Worth noting that the Pyro and Hydroblasts can easily be replaced by Red and Blue Elemental Blasts. 99 times out of 100 they're going to be identical (this is especially true in PAUPER of all places), and they're well under a dollar each instead of 4 bucks.

what do you guys think about this list? im entering my first daily with it today. i dont have the revenue for hydroblast /pyroblast suite. i feel the main deck is fine (maybe somber hoverguard over the legionnaire but the side is suboptimal of course. any suggestions?
I've never really seen the point of playing Porcelain Legionnaire in this deck. He dies to a light breeze against the control decks and it's not like he stonewalls aggro decks very well either. Not to mention that he does nothing against the 4 toughness creatures of the format (of which there are a lot). He just seems like a really underpowered card to be playing in this deck and it's rare I've seen him do much useful at all. Somberwald Hoverguard at least has evasion and other marginal upsides (being able to block a Silhanna Ledgewalker for instance) while also being immune to things like Ancient Grudge or Gleeful Sabotage that will get boarded in against you. Legionnaire just dings you for 2 a lot of the time and dies.

After my daily yesterday and talking with a guy who 3-1 events with it I've changed my deck a decent amount and have come up with this
I don't see what Vault Skirge is doing for you in that slot either. I mean I get it's an artifact you can play for 1 mana that works with Drum but in a deck that lacks any ways to pump it it's not a particularly good card.

Agreed, if you want a 1-mana 1/1 artifact it should be Flayer Husk

The best options are probably Somber Hoverguard, Flayer Husk, or Krark-Clan Shaman.
Hoverguard is an evasive beater that hits pretty hard and gives you a way to block the flyers from Delver decks. He's not amazing but I always found he was a decent clock and you can always board him out for something better in the matchups where he's weak. He also has synergy with Krark-Clan Shaman which is worth noting.
Flayer Husk I'm not a huge fan of personally but I can see the merit as it does a few good things for you. First, it's a 1 drop artifact/creature which is good for Springleaf Drum and your Affinity cards (Vault Skirge also does this but you lose 2 life in the process and he doesn't do very much for you other than that). In addition to that the ability to make your Enforcers/Forgers 5/5s is actually fairly important as it puts them out of Flame Slash/Galvanic Blast range and can give you a trump in the mirror letting you make a creature bigger than their 4/4s. The initial germ can also provide a roadblock, albeit an unimpressive one against aggro decks like Stompy or Goblins.
Shaman is more something you'd play as a miser's maindeck card and probably only 1 copy, but it can really blow out aggro decks game 1 to have one in your deck.

so i just made some amazing trades and got a good amount of tickets.
if someone was going to build the very best side board what would it be?
4x Pyroblast for sure with so many blue decks in the format (Delver, Fissure Post, Izzet Post, U/R Kiln Fiend). After that it's really a matter of preference. I like having 3 Gorilla Shamans to supplement Ancient Grudge for the mirror but I don't think they're an absolute necessity. Having some anti-aggro stuff is generally a good idea (some combination of Krark-Clan Shamans and Electrickeries usually being the best). I don't mind cards like Duress for control and Doom Blade for more aggro hate depending on how many extra slots you have. Hydroblast is an option, though I don't think it's as useful as Pyroblast.

Agreed, if you want a 1-mana 1/1 artifact it should be Flayer Husk
Fires :symr:f Salvation
what would you suggest running in its place?
