There are two issues I have with Scythe Tiger. One is that pauper especially has a lot of 2 power value guys (Phyrexian Rager, Mulldrifter, Order of Leitbur, ect), so he will die in combat a lot of the time. The other is that he cannot be helped in combat or boosted for the win with pump spells.
Gather Courage seems really sweet though, especially with Quirion and Nettle Sentinel. Will definitely check it out.
I'm currently trying this style build with infect creatures (blight mamba, glistener elf, and ichorclaw myr) since I'm running a high costed creatures I added in 2 lands for 12 forest total, and I am running land grant and search for tomorrow to sure up my hitting 2-3 lands. then to make up for the fact I've cut the creature base by over half, I added in commune with nature. Then pack the usual pump spells like Giant growth, Mutagenic Growth, Invigorate, etc. I haven't been able to play it against any one yet, but it goldfishes turn 3-4 pretty regularly.
I'm thinking about dropping the kodama's might for predator's strike. I'm also (looking at the decklist on written out for the first time) thinking that I don't need 20 cards to for lands otherwise it defeats the point of running a lowland build. maybe I'll cut 2 search for tomorrow or 2 forrest for 2 more pump spells. any ideas?
*Edit* so my group is looking at taking up the usual banned list so invigorate is out, but since we're looking at peasant I think I'm going to run might of old krosa in it's place.
I don't really understand the point of Kodama's Might Basically if you have 2 in your hand you can give your creature +6/+6 for 3 mana and 2 cards... it seems to be a less reliable giant growth.
Since you're already running Giant Growth, I think Predator's Strike is going to be a good pick since you benefit a lot from trample.
yeah I did this change a while ago, the original idea was to pack one drop pumps and kodama's mights were the best one I had left, but I'm realizing that I don't have any mana issues and so they went out and predator's strike in and are worlds better, I've found that without trample the creatures just become "when this creature attacks target player sacrifices a creature." so sad to lose invigorate, but I understand it entirely, it made turn 2 kills a norm.

Wouldn't Scythe Tiger be better than Rogue Elephant? There are a lot of Lightning Bolts in pauper.
