I've been hearing about Faerie decks for a long time now. MUC Faeries, Ninja Faeries, etc. I thought I'd finally sit down and see what they were all about and was quite surprised to see the deck basically built itself.
Though all the pauper faeries seem to be spread out over 10 years worth of sets, they all synergize with each other perfectly. As if there was some quiet figure in R&D just playing the long con since '98 so he could one day construct a competitive pauper faeries deck.
One of my favorite cards is Wee Dragonauts so I knew I had to splash red. Wee Dragonaut's best friend is Lightning Bolt, as is Psychotic Fury, but I wanted some spot removal.
I looked through the black Faeries for other possibilities: Dreamspoiler Witches - just too bad over all. Faerie Macabre - sideboard at best. Final-Sting Faerie - To damage a creature in a faerie deck, you'd probably already be losing a faerie, so this guy just doesn't cut it.
Pepper Smoke, Nightshade Stinger, and Oona's Gatewarden are the only playable black faeries. Gatewarden works well with Peppersmoke, but once again, faeries don't last long, and creature destruction should not be the angle of a faerie deck. Thieving Sprite is okay for the discard/control route.
I'll gloss over the green faeries - but I want to just say that I love them. Green fliers are my favorite. Scrybe Sprites, Willow Faerie - these guys are cute, but have better counterparts in blue.
The deck basically plays itself. Spellstutter Sprite holds down the board while Ninjas bounce them back into your hand. Wee Dragonauts provides some extra muscle ftw, and the other faeries ping away while you bounce around Ninjas and Spellstutters, drawing through your deck till you've swarmed your opponent. Memory Lapse plays the tempo game so well, letting you save your Spellstutters for the big dogs.
I've played a number of games with this deck so far and have won all of them. The deck is balls to the wall control, and the added flavor of faeries and ninjas makes it very silly and very fun to play. As my roommate Logan, the eternal Timmy, said "I don't even mind that you kicked my ass, that was the silliest deck ever!" Then I gave Logan a chance to pilot it and he had no problem maintaining board control.
Peasant Variant:
In Peasant I'd probably switch to MUC. Faerie Impostor is the perfect faerie bounce card. Faerie Swarm is an okay FTW card, just run 2. Faerie Conclave is some added muscle, and can pump your faerie numbers for Spellstutter.
Especially effective on turn 3:
2 Islands on the Battlefield
Tap them for UU
Play Izzet Boilerworks, returning one of them
Cast Cloud of Faeries, untapping both lands
Voilá, 3 mana to spend.
Mistblade Shinobi also is a GREAT stall against creature-heavy decks.
I've seen a mono-blue Faerie-Ninja deck (with the Shinobi) tear apart basically anything it went up against in a small Pauper Tournament I played at.
Fairie miscreant is great and strictly better than zephyr sprite. Also, I believe cloud of fairies is banned in pauper? Sorry to burst your bubble if it is.

I considered Boggart Sprite-chaser, but settled on Ninja of the Deep Hours.
That left blue and red, and ninjas.
So here's what I came up with:
4 Cloud of Faeries
4 Ninja of the Deep Hours
4 Wee Dragonuts
4 Spellstutter Sprite
4 Curfew
4 Brainstorm
4 Memory Lapse
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Mountain
2 Izzet Boilerworks
14 Island

Should of course board him out against burn etc.
Would love to see a primer on Faerie Ninjas

Chasay, Caller of Fire
Skaab Corpse Looter

Absolutely. Done.
I also bought a set of Mistblade Shinobi that I plan on sideboarding, but I haven't encountered any decks that I absolutely need him against yet.
