The thing I hate most against playing against control decks on arena is the people that play them. Many times I play against UW or Jeskai control deck, they seem to let the time meter run almost all the way out almost everything they have the opportunity to. So many times, I am waiting for them to respond, and they seem to just wait until the time meter runs out and then they play their spell. Doing that now and again I get it, but it happens seemingly all the time.
It seems like one of controls win cons on Arena is to try to get you to quite out of boredom.
But, it is what it is, some people like playing control, who am I to say they should not be allowed to? Different strokes for different folks. I am sure the control folks hate playing against mono red as much as I hate playing against them.
MtG is about psychology as much as it is about deckbuilding and luck of the draw: strategic misplays can and will decide games, and as such, getting the opponent frustrated so that they will make more such mistakes IS a legitimate wincon.
You need to learn to accept the fact that you're playing MtG for fun... And so are your opponents: but their definition of "fun" might be different from yours. No point of view is absolutely wrong or absolutely right, just accept that people who are different from you exist, and learn to optimize your playstyle so as to deal with them.
I dont think people are always out to just bore people into giving up. When you have 10+ mana, and every choice counts because you are still sitting at 3 life, some times you have to go into the tank a bit.
I started arena on Drakes/Phoenix, moved over the mono burn (which is pretty scary right now honestly) and now I'm playing UWR again. Teferi, Search, Removal, and counters, is pretty much how I want to be living life, but its still a MUCH slower game and climbing the ladder will take a lot longer.
Now imagine a world where those worlds are not identical in every way.
There is no such world.
Control is necessary to
A: Prevent degenerate combo deck from saying "I win"
B: Keep midrange in check
C: Keep aggro in check
D: Force decks to be relevant early

Imagine a world without control.
Now imagine a world where MTG dies.
Now imagine a world where those worlds are not identical in every way.
There is no such world.

Without control, you don't have MTG.
Deal with it.
