How does it hold up against Oko and Nissa? These two cards are just dominating my local meta in Standard. Those cards are definitely straining the meta with most anti-Oko decks mainboarding Planeswalker hate just to deal with them.
You beat the crap out of them, they got nothing to do against Mass Manipulation.
In the early game you need to keep them in check with timely Gates Ablaze in the key turns and then try to ramp as much as you can while drawing cards. Rams and Colossus can put a lot of pressure on them if they dont have OKO. When they do have OKO, you'll do what I said before... keep the board in check and finish them with Mass Manipulation. They basically scoop on the spot!
PS: They got no answers for Guild Summit so cast it as soon as you can.
Went up against an amazingly interesting variation on Gates. Enough that I might actually try and build the deck and go back to FNM instead of erm... TNM?
Unfortunately, the deck I saw was on Arena. As much as I could hang in there, I really only saw 50% of the deck but what it did was very interesting. The incomplete deck list below is from my video of the game play. Notes about the game played are further down.
If anyone knows the basic deck list, please pipe up. I'd like to see it. So let's start with what I saw:
Lucky Clover made Granted an insanely powerful wish card. For instance, my opponent never drew Guild Summit. Instead they used two Lucky Clovers and a single Granted to fetch it, Time Wipe and Regenerate out of the sideboard. (I don't know how to do the Adventure cards??) This makes for a very interesting gameplay choice. Instead of running 4 Guild Summits, could you conceivably be satisfied with one in the deck and one in the sideboard or even just two in the sideboard and fetch them when you actually want them?
I believe my opponent only had 7 basic lands in the deck as my opponent stopped searching for lands after the third Fertile Footsteps on the stack from a triple Lucky Clover.
I'm trying to puzzle the rest of the deck out and see how I can assemble my own so what do you guys think? What's missing from the list?
