Please include what kind of event it was, game/match results for every round, and the deck/play quality of your opponents. Also, it would be helpful if you could explain how you sideboarded for each match.
There were 65 participants, which meant 7 rounds of Swiss before the cut to Top 8. Unfortunately I did not take notes, but I will do my best to remember as much as I can.
Round 1 Josh with Junk Reanimator
Good matchup that went as planned in game 1. Stalker with Pants and I ended this game at 43 life. Game 2 he ramped and had the Tusk/Angel thing going way too quickly for my liking. Game 3 was the god hand of Pilgrim in to Geist with a 3rd turn of Courage and Ethereal. Game was over very quickly. Opponent was an adequate pilot of his deck.
2-1 (1-0)
Round 2 Joel with Junk Aristocrats
Another good matchup, but in game 1 he got double Blood Artist early and started getting in with Spirit tokens. Game 2 I overwhelmed him with a well laden Stalker. Game 3 I ended at 25 life as I went all in on a pilgrim and no my opponent saw no slips. I got lucky, but I'll take it. Opponent was a good pilot of his deck.
2-1 (2-0)
Round 3 Jamie with Junk Reanimator
These games went fast. Game 1, I came out too quick and he went from 20 to 12 to 7 to 0. Game 2, he landed an early Tusk, but I just ignored it and got there on a flying Geist. Although these games were over quickly, I could tell he was a very good opponent that I had the nuts draw for.
2-0 (3-0)
Round 4 Russell with Junk Aristocrats
Again, this was over quickly, but not in a good way. He had all the answers both games, I wish I could say more about this matchup, but he just overwhelmed me and Varolz is KING in that deck. Well versed in his deck, great player.
0-2 (3-1)
Round 5 William with Gruul Aggro
Finally something else!!! Game 1 was a bit of a race, but double Ethereal on a Strangleroot got there as he misplayed and forgot the fact that it adds toughness as well as power. Game 2 I thought I had him in a race that I could win, but he had a Spear back that I was not expecting. A mistake I would not make in Game 3. A courageous flying Geist did the trick. Good player, confused by his lack of knowledge of the cards.
2-1 (4-1)
After Round 5, I had the best tiebreakers of the 4-1 crowd by a sizable margin, so I knew I had to win just one of the remaining rounds to get top 8. Feeling good about this, I took a deep breath and went on to round 6...
Round 6 Daniel with American Control
Daniel and I have a small but colourful history, we banter back and forth but it is all in good fun. Game 1 went for a long time which as you know would be a bad thing for me, and yes it was as I scooped to a resolved Aetherling with extra blue up for protection. I didn't want to waste time at that point. Game 2 went quickly, but it was a tight race as he ended up on the aggressive route with Angels and a Snappy. I was going to win the race unless he topdecked an out, he drew, attacked putting me to one then slammed the Verdict down... Created a token off of Moorland Haunt and I was dead. Unfortunately I was 2 cards from my Mending Touch. Good games and I don't mind losing to Daniel as he is a good guy and a great player. Did I mention he is a good player?
0-2 (4-2)
Standings after Round 6 confirmed I needed to get a win and in. Same with one of my teammates who I potentially could be paired against, but he was 4-1-1 so I would have auto-scooped at that point if we had been paired up.
Round 7 Teddy with Naya Blitz
Not my teammate so, good news. I mentioned that my tiebreakers were good enough to get me in and his were weak and he would be extremely hard pressed to make it in, then asked for the concession. He thought otherwise and wanted to play it out. I have no problems with that, as when ever I ask for a concession, I ask only once and respect my opponent's decision every time. Naya Blitz, in other words, coin flip. Game 1 he was too overwhelming as he got a really good draw. No real contest in that game. Game 2 was my turn, and I got there on the back of a well loaded pilgrim. He had to read Spectral Flight which confused me, but hey whatever. Not the usual plan, but I was able to roll with it. Game 3... Game 3... All down to this. Unfortunately, this is not how I wanted to go out. Mull to 5, keep 2 buddy lands and some decent stuff, but... His turn 1, Champion. His turn 2, triple Emissary into Mayor. Need I say more. No Fog in sight. Extend hand. Good player, but again confused by lack of card knowledge.
1-2 (4-3)
Sidenote, he made it in to the Top 8, so I feel better about it than if he hadn't.
In closing, I got 14th out of 65 players, which I can accept as a positive acheivement, my teammate missed his win and in and came 13th, and none of our team finished with a losing record, so we feel good going in to a PTQ this Saturday.

There was a light turnout, but the calibre of player was high at this store. 27 competitors meant 5 rounds with a cut to Top 8. Not too many notes, but I will do my best.
Round 1 Chris with Bant Auras
Yay… Mirror round 1. Was never really in trouble in this matchup, Strangleroots got there game 1 and game 2 a sided in Fog was very timely.
1-0 (2-0)
Round 2 Jerry with Act 2
A good matchup for me but Reckoners got there for him in Game 1. Game 2 I was able to whittle away and get there without issue. Game 3 he had no land so I went all out and got there in 4 turns with a second turn Geist off of a Pilgrim. He had a Liliana in hand, but no 3rd land.
2-0 (2-1)
Round 3 Kiel with Bant Control
I have played Kiel before and was expecting American Control, but Bant still won it for him. Game 1 he ramped in to Thragtusk and then Zegana after a well placed Verdict. I won Game 2 very quickly, but Game 3 was grindy and eventually he levelled after 4 Sphinx’s Rev… Sigh…
2-1 (1-2)
Round 4 Greg with Gruul Aggro
A win and I was fairly confident I could draw in to Top 8. All 3 games here were races but I would be lying if I didn’t say that a missed trigger cost him. Game 1 I won with a flying, courageous Stalker. Game 2 I was ready to go for it, but Hellrider came to the party and that was that. Game 3 was quick, but as I said, he missed a Stromkirk Noble trigger (I missed it too in all honesty) and if he had remembered it the Noble may have been held back the following turn as a blocker instead of attacking. I was able to get in for lethal anyways as I had a Simic Charm back.
2-1 (3-1)
Round 5 James with Bant Auras
The standings showed a clear cut with 9th place being 2-2 and 8th being 3-1. In other words, and intentional draw by the top 4 tables meant Top 8. Woo!!!
ID (3-1-1)
Quarterfinals Saran with Junk Reanimator
A great matchup for me, it did not disappoint. Game 1 Ajani helped out tremendously (actually Ajani helped out all day when I saw him) but he only saw Forests and Gavony Township. Game 2 I had the Turn 1 Pilgrim, Turn 2 Geist then he put on the pants and I crushed.
2-0 (4-1-1)
At this point the top 4 did a prize split for $100 store credit each. One of us dropped, but I didn’t get the bye in to the finals…
Semifinals Kiel with Bant Control
We played this out, but he had to leave as his girlfriend showed up and he had to go as she was having a bad day. Long story short, I lost again but the girlfriend factor gave me the win...
2-1 (5-1-1)
Finals Joseph with Naya Midrange
It was at this moment that the cards failed me… Mull to 5 in Game 1 with 2 buddy lands meant he had more than enough time to level. Game 2 I got him to 6 with a Geist but he had sided in Ray of Revelation (as he should) and then a miracled Bonfire sealed it for him. Ah well…
0-2 (5-2-1)
So, in conclusion I finished 2nd out of 27 with a 5-2-1 record. Pleased overall but the Bonfire still stings.
Props
AJANI. He rocks, but I am not sure I could bring myself to play 2.
Seth the Head Judge. Ran a tight ship and things went really smooth.
Slops
Bonfire. Cannot wait for rotation.
Hands with only Buddy lands, blech.
