I edited the post with some playstyle info. The short version is, if you're getting killed on turn 5-6, it's because you didn't start hitting for Lifelink damage early enough. There's 8 sources of Lifelink in the deck; there's no need to save one. I try to Gift on turn 3 or Mark on turn 4 almost regardless of what else is going on on the board, because that early Lifelink beatdown is key to living long enough to set up bigger threats on turns 7-9.
Yes, that sounds a lot more reasonable than what I was doing. That said, if I were to try this deck again, I would probably increase the Swamps to 20. I've had a number of games where the 3rd Swamp only comes in on T5, T6 or T7. If I do this, what would you recommend dropping to fit in the 2 extra Swamps?
BTW, given your explanation, I assume that I should only keep a hand which has at least 2 Swamps, 2 Unblockable creatures that can be played on T1 and/or T2, and 1 Gift or Mark?
As I said above, I think dropping 1 Thrull Parasite and 1 of either Tortured Soul or Duty-Bound Dead for 2 swamps is a good idea. As to mulliganing, it depends on what your opponent is playing. Game 1, two swamps and something you can do on turns 1 and 2 is my goal.

"I wasn't sleeping. I'm a beta-tester for Google Eyelids...I was just taking the opportunity to update my Facebook page." -- Morgan Freeman, accused of napping during a TV interview.
The idea is to add more control to the deck. Soulsworn Spirit adds, functionally, 4 more Hands of Binding. Being able to side in more Ultimate Price, Dimir Charm, and Murder in place of things like Shadow Slice and Call of the Nightwing makes it very competitive against decks like RDW. This deck pretty much just blanks all of the advantages of something like Boros Reckoner. Just keep him pinned down with Soulsworn Spirit and Hands of Binding until you can find a Murder. I would image against any aggro deck the game plan will be similar as you try to drag the game out enough to keep your answers in hand.
Against control I can image taking out Dimir Charms for Negate. Call of the Nightwing can be an overextension but it lets you hold multiple copies of other critters while encouraging your opponent to use up their board wipes. Shadow Slice could be good here allowing you to speed up the end of the game. That could come in for Hands of Binding if they aren't playing many creatures. AEtherling does a similar thing here, usually replacing a couple Soulsworn Spirit. Its abilities allow you to give it Unblockable and use extra mana to give it a huge pump then dodge removal later so if you need to finish out a game in a hurry you have multiple ways to do so.

Hello, all. I have two decks to submit. Pardon me if I get the formatting wrong.
Both decks are based on the popular Hexproof Auras archetype. The formula for the archetype is really straight forward. Take 8-ish Hexproof creatures, 8 other creatures, 16 auras, and 4 utility spells. The balance between Auras and creatures is pretty important. Sideboard varies, but typically includes ways to protect your creatures from board wipes or deal with specific decks common to the player's metagame.

Budget Bant Auras
TIMESTAMP: June 12, 2013 at 2345 Eastern time
TYPE: BDC15 ($15.00 LIMIT)
CURRENT COST: $13.89
REMAINING BUDGET: $1.11
I decided to go with Greenside Watcher over the usual Avacyn's Pilgrim. Greenside Watcher makes the deck's gates more playable, has power 2, and trades better later in the game. Since both allow you to cast an Ascended Lawmage on turn 3,Watcher seemed like the obvious choice.
Invisible Stalker and Rancor are keeping the price of the deck up, but they're important, so $15 budget it is.
This deck is more experimental than the typical Bant version. It plays a little slower, but it has good staying power. Curiosity and Righteous Authority help ensure that you don't run out of gas. Boros Charm is a workhorse, protecting against sweepers and giving us some extra reach.
The deck could really benefit from a better mana base, but given the budget, this works well enough.
There is a cute interaction in the sideboard between Curse of Exhaustion and Possibility Storm, which more or less locks your opponent out of the game. Also in the sideboard is Sphere of Safety, which is rather effective here due to the abundance of enchantments.
About the only thing that would get the price down to $10 would be finding replacements for Invisible Stalker and Boros Charm. Both are important to the deck, so I guess we just deal with being in the $15 budget range.
Inspiration: This deck idea came to me when I got my first Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis in a booster pack. I hunted through my collection for all the exalted cards I had. At first I thought they were weak, but once I realized that they all support one creature in combat (and leave the rest as blockers), I took the idea of a budget exalted deck to heart, and proceeded to look all over for the cards to finish my deck at my
high school, and then resorted to the internet for the cheap rares.
Card Choices: Gift of Orzhova can turn any weak card into an evasive beater with lifelink! Sadly, I only have 2 of it. Murder seemed the most effective, unconditional removal spell in standard for black. White's best removal is Oblivion Ring. Tired of getting killed when I could have won with one more turn, I added Safe Passage. It also protects all my exalted creatures. Angelic Benediction helps by tapping their blockers, and is more exalted. Guardians of Akrasa is the ideal defender for exalted. Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis is the biggest creature in the deck, with evasion and removal included. Knights (Knight of Glory and Knight of Infamy) are good at dodging removal and are all-around good 2-drops. Tormented Soul is an unblockable beater. Servant of Nefarox is more fodder for the exalted mechanic. Duskmantle Prowler is an element of surprise, and Vampire Nighthawk is an amazing beater card when pumped up by exalted. Duty-Bound Dead is the one-drop exalted we all need, and his flying counterpart 2-drop, Aven Squire, is good and evasive. Evolving Wilds helps with mana fixing and deck thinning. Vault of the Archangel is my favorite card in the deck. It is rather irrelevant that it gives deathtouch and lifelink to all my creatures, since I'm attacking with only one, but it's good for when you block. Plains and Swamp are in there for mana. As if you didn't know that. Phew. Glad that's over.
Win Condition: Either outlasting your opponent with lifelink, or simply smashing face with evasive beaters for the win.

Just had a question: Any ideas for a sideboard for the 'Last Stand of the Pack' deck?
I've ordered the base deck and am waiting for it to arrive, I thought I should sort out a sideboard to purchase while I wait.
I noted that it may be able to make use of noncreature spells, maybe even a Ghost Quarter?

While I didn't make the deck, I've got some ideas. 2 more full moons rises could help counter control and ratchet bomb. Some number of fog, in addition to the mists mainboard, will help with aggro. You could use ancient grudge or just plain naturalize. Some ground seal or tormods crypt vs. reanimator. Ghost Quarter isn't particularly needed-what lands do you need to kill? Things with flash are decent as well, most notably wolfir avenger.
You can probably fill up the board with a bunch of cheap aggressive creatures like rakdos cackler and be fine as well. It really depends on what you expect your opponents to be playing.

-I would preorder 6 of these: 4 for deck, 1 for EDH, and 1 to build a sanctuary and adore it for as long as i play shenanigan decks
This deck is all about milling. This is a budget mill that desperately needs work, but I think is a great starting foundation. It focuses around cheap, effective mill cards. The biggest issue I've found in playtesting thus far has been that it might need a better draw engine. Augur of Bolas maybe? Memory Adept also wants in here for those with him lying around.
Sideboard is for those matchups where you just *need* more of something. Be it mill, creatures, or control.
wow, I have missed alot since i last logged on....
Well I haven't budget brewed in a while, but i guess i can try and make a budget version of the mill deck i have had really good success with as of late.

I have a request, because my brain is kind of hurting right now. I would like to know who has the ingenuity and creativity to turn my current Mill deck into a BDC15 deck.
Total Price: $52.17 tcg player low

I will see what i can do to change this around to fit within the BDC15 budget.
If anyone gets ideas i would love to see it!

The big money sinks here are the dual lands. The Watery Graves along are $26. The Drowned Catacombs are another $5 and change. That brings you down to a little less than $21.
The next most expensive is the single Mutilate and the Consuming Aberrations, both clocking in at just over $1. You could cut the Mutilate, I guess, but the Aberrations seem pretty critical.
The rest of the deck consists of a lot of $.25-ish cards, which add up pretty quickly. It might come down to swapping things out for cheaper, but functionally similar cards.

Yeah, I know the land is pretty much 60% of the decks budget cost, then the Jaces coming in at about 3.60 or so each.
I think finding a replacement for the jaces is key. Consuming Aberration is an achor for the deck and is the main wincon, so he can't go anywhere. I almost want to look at Undercity Informer but you need a steady sac engine for him to be truly effective.

I like the monoblue idea. Few opinions though:
Increasing confusion is honestly "slow" because of X. I know that sounds weird, but essentially it isn't effective unless you can take out at least 7 off the top of thier deck. With that being said:
Replace Delver with Jace's Phantasm. yes its an increase in cost, but much more effective. Phantasm is already evasive, plus you control his +4 trigger with your mill spells, rather than relying on chance with delver. Not to mention he is also a good Trep Blade wielder.
Move mind Sculpt to the Main Board, and Switch sensory deprevation to the side and mainboard three dissipates instead. You need to be able to counter spell in a mill deck.
for the last spot in your main board you need a saftey net, like Devastation Tide in the event that you need to reset the battle field, which in a mill deck we are fine with, as sweepers really don't bother us.
replace negate with Unsummon in the side board. you WILL need these in most matches.
Also added Tormod's Crypt to the side board. Graveyard hate is a MUST in the Side board of a mill deck. Simply put, Junk and Reanimate decks are kryptonite.
Here is your deck if you were to implement my suggestions:
If you're going to mill, I would advise you use Essence Scatter over Dissipate. Spells aren't going to give you nearly as much grief as creatures will with a mill deck. After all, they just have to get you to 0 life, a feat that can be achieved inside of 5 turns, depending on how aggressively they're able to attack. You, however, are not going to be able to mill their entire deck away in a hurry.
I would also advise the use of Walls, perhaps as a sideboard option. They're usually cheap to cast, and can often block really big creatures effortlessly.
Jace, Memory Adept, is a must for a mill deck. He's not budget, but he's VERY necessary. If you manage to keep Jace on the board, you will almost certainly win - being able to mill 10 cards with Jace per turn, plus perhaps a dozen more with other spells will mean that you're taking more than a quarter of their deck to the graveyard each turn that goes by.
this deck is made for the new standard format, and IMO is the most competitive deck you can build for the price.
Do you want a deck that will hand $500 decks their butt on a silver platter??
Well this is the deck right here. For the price of $10.63 you can walk this deck into any fnm and beat the crap out of almost every deck that is being played today. the only rare in the deck is Maze's end and it can be had for .50 online. other than that this deck is bad to the bone and is all commons and uncommons. If you wanted to suit this deck up and step your game to the next level I would add 4 Supreme Verdict to the main deck and take out the 3 aetherize and 1 read the bones. Merciless Eviction can be had for less than a buck, but I would run the supreme verdicts if you could afford them. This deck is made for the new standard and takes advantage of all the new theros cards like
read the bones (amazing card draw)
defend the hearth
omenspeaker (for the SB)
Artisan's Sorrow (destroys artifacts or enchantments)
The great thing about this deck is that most decks right now have no way to interact with this deck. they just sit back and lose as you maze's end them out, or just crackling perimeter them out of the game. the only reason i would not run 4 crackling perimeter main, is because you are already running 3 read the bones main. Crackling perimeter is that good. Add those 4 supreme verdicts to the main deck, and go win a PTQ. *NOTE* this deck will make you a better player since there are lots of decisions to be made when you play this deck. Also play quickly since if you are playing it right you will basically be digging in your deck every turn. let me know what you think!

Wit and wisdom from my four-year-old son. Recommended for anyone who enjoys a good belly laugh.
I have a similer orzhov deck but its not that budget (3x blind obedience and rhox faithmender) but it uses ethereal armor enchants and life linkers with vizkopa guildmage to give triple strike.
So I was looking at this deck again. I was thinking of changing it up a little bit by doing the following:
9 Island
10 Swamp
4 Dimir Guildgates
CREATURES - 20
4 Tormented Soul
4 Invisible Stalker
4 Harbor Bandit
4 Deathcult Rogue
4 Soulsworn Spirit
2 Ultimate Price
4 Hands of Binding
2 Dimir Charm
2 Murder
2 Call of the Nightwing
2 Midnight Recovery
2 Shadow Slice
2 AEtherling
1 Ultimate Price
4 Negate
2 Murder
1 Midnight Recovery
1 Call of the Nightwing
1 Shadow Slice
3 Ring of Xathrid
The idea is to add more control to the deck. Soulsworn Spirit adds, functionally, 4 more Hands of Binding. Being able to side in more Ultimate Price, Dimir Charm, and Murder in place of things like Shadow Slice and Call of the Nightwing makes it very competitive against decks like RDW. Also added Tormod's Crypt to the side board. Graveyard hate is a MUST in the Side board of a mill deck. Simply put, Junk and Reanimate decks are kryptonite.
Here is your deck if you were to implement my suggestions:
4 Mind Sculpt - (0.15 per) - .60 total
4 Tome Scour - (0.03 per) - .12 total
4 Thought Scour - (0.15 per) - .60 total
4 Dream Twist - (0.04 per) - .16 total
2 Trepanation Blade - (0.10 per) - .20 total
1 Devastation Tide - (0.18 per)
4 Invisible Stalker - (0.94 per) - 2.82 total
4 Jace's Phantasm - (0.80 per) - 3.20 total
4 Shriekgeist - (0.02 per) - .08 total
3 Dissipate - (0.14 per) - 0.42 total
3 Traumatize - (0.20 per) - .60 total
23 Island
3 Tormod's Crypt - (0.10 per) - .30 total
4 Sensory Deprivation - (0.03 per) - .03 total
4 unsummon - (0.03 per) - .12 total
3 Crosstown Courier - (0.02 per) - .08 total
1 Dissipate - (0.14 per)
Type: BDC10
Current Cost: $9.65
Remaining Budget: $0.35
