I would lose the Carabids for The Sedraxis Specter the carabid does nothing for this deck only clogs up the hand. My deck looks about the same as yours but with the change and i constantly go off turn 4-5 more turn 4s than 5's.
1 MD leviathan has won me so many games it isn't funny it is good against all decks except for RDW and boros.
deck list and what is your sideboard? So i can better answer this question.
Don't we already have great match-ups against most decks besides RDW and Boros? Sounds more like a SB card to me; do you have anything else to back it up? I'm playing 4 stitch, and the consistency of the deck amazes me... I mean, sometimes I'll play a turn 4 stitch if I haven't gone off, and turn 5 plain out win. The thing about the Stitchers are that while they're not the best choice for the every deck, they're usually the best choice for an unknown deck. I play them MD for game 1, and they're the first to be boarded out for games 2 and 3.
Also, I wouldn't remove the Carabids for Specters... Carabids are somewhat necessary for filling up the GY for earlier wins; I don't see how you're consistently T4'ing otherwise.
Finally, how many lands are you running? I've found 20 to work pretty well, as we should win on 4-5 lands... here's my list for reference.
No one is consistently turn 4'ing over a decent sample size. I had a stretch of games where i was half going off turn 4 and finishing turn 5 a lot, but over the course of a hundred games you realize that the odds even out.
@Sivortal- Why are you playing two expedition maps in the sideboard? Seems like a huge waste of space when there are so many awesome sb cards that you could be running. Also, running 4 fatesticher is major overkill, especially with 4 corpse connoisseurs. Try a 2/2 split and run 4 sedraxis specter.

You obviously play it very much the same way I do. If I kill on turn 4 I am genuinely surprised. Turn 5 kills happens once in a while, but usually turn 5 is the set up turn... and then Bam on 6. In a bubble, turn 4-5 happens a lot, but in a bubble your opponent doesn't kill your turn 2 crab, or Ruinblaster your Crypt, or Pithing Needle your Extractor Demon.
And I agree about Expedition Maps, 4 Fatestitchers, and the Scepters. I dropped the Connoisseurs, but they may find themselves back in there after having some trouble getting the Extractors in the graveyard.
You guys may not believe me put i find that i win turn 4 about 75% of the time. verse Jund and i always win game 1 verse them on turn 4-5 and always win game 1.
You guys may not believe me put i find that i win turn 4 about 75% of the time. verse Jund and i always win game 1 verse them on turn 4-5 and always win game 1.
How? In order for that to happen you need to get amazing crab mills, a crypt, and a Fatestitcher in the graveyard. For 4 turns, that is a "stars aligning" to happen consistently. Getting an opening hand with a Crypt, an Island, a Crab, and a Fetchland is about the only way for that to happen and it doesn't happen that often that all the pieces for a huge start are there.
How consistent has this deck been for you guys? I've been testing both U/B (Yasooka) and U/B/R (Jacobs) versions. The U/B/R has felt pretty inconsistent during my testing. U/B seems more reliable but a lot of the time I was going off a turn too late.
These are just my early findings as I know i haven't tested enough, but how has everyone else been fairing?

You must be the world's luckiest man then. There are extended combo decks that don't win turn 4 75% of the time. If this deck actually combo'd off turn 4 75% of the time, it would be the best decks in the format instead of a fringe deck.

First of all, Jacobs is UBr, because it usually functions without ever actively using red mana. It's rare that you hardcast Specter, but it does happen every once in a while. But to answer your question, I originally thought that the Jacobs version was less reliable, but after testing it again, the opposite seems to be true. I think that Jacobs hit the nail on the head (with the exception of the singleton Ponder... just what was he thinking?)
I think that Jacobs hit the nail on the head (with the exception of the singleton Ponder... just what was he thinking?)
I have heard people whispering that he simply couldn't find a 4th Carabid from the vendors there since nobody was carrying unplayable commons. I don't know it that's true or not, but I would believe it.
And I agree. The Jacob's list isn't a UBr list. It's a UB list that can hard cast a few cards occasionally. The red is incidental in 75% of the games I play. And, of those 25% where it's relevant it's to cast the Specter as a chump blocker.
So, I'm curious - does anyone have a comprehensive guide to the match-ups with this deck against the whole meta? Because I've heard it does well against Jund and Vampires, and poor against Boros, but does anyone have percents or more match-ups than those?

That is why i am taking it to states if the real cards come in. My version is a tier one deck :). I will not post my list online just yet but i will give an outline.
Hope this helps. The worst matchups for this deck are RDW and Boros when they are built correctly. And 5cc when they ave the right tech in their sideboard.
I am sorry that the deck tag is weird i have tried to fix it without success. After states i will post my full build.

It is one of the best decks in format. RWD and boros is the only match ups where we don't have a 80/20 first game.

also somebody usin sedris, the traitor? that can solve the unearth problem of the cyclings, katharis and other stuffs

I thought about that but what turn can we play him? Turn 5 and that is only if we have 4 black creatures in the grave which we should and both colors of mana. He just seems to be to much work to get a more constant turn 5-6 kill. My version wins turn 4-5 so adding sedris would actually hurt it.
And the remnant is also to slow to be any help against boros it comes out turn 4 and then puts another card into play. Against Boros and RDW we are already dead turn 4-5 unless we can neutralize their early threats and not take to much damage so we can still combo for the win.

Your deck is pretty much exactly the same as mine and everyone else who runs the deck. You only have three cards out of the maindeck you are not showing us, and I doubt those are cards that help you go off any faster than the carabids you apparently don't include. You don't combo off turn 4 75% of the time, and your claim that you do only gives fuel to to the people who claim this is a joke deck and takes away from legitimate discussion of ways to improve the deck. Good hands can win turn 5 and great ones sometimes win turn 4, but you don’t draw those hands very often, and when you do a mere lightning bolt or path to exile on hedron crab slows them down at least a turn.
This is not to mention 80/20 matchups. Do you have any idea how good a deck has to be to have 80/20 against another deck? That means you win EVERY game that you don't get mana screwed/flooded/bad luck, and you claim you have 80/20 against the entire field minus two decks? That would be the most powerful deck ever to grace a standard format. Please, take your ridiculous claims elsewhere. If you wish to really contribute to the discussion, then please share your "secret tech" and prove us wrong, but merely dangling it front of us and bragging about impossible numbers is doing no one any favors.

Hm... First, I'd go -1 Swamp +1 Island to balance your colors out (i personally feel that blue should be emphasized since most of your black stuff is unearthed via Crypt). I don't see the point of a singleton Corpse over a full set of Carabids (remember, cycling draws you cards, which increases chances of hitting mana). Finally, are you 2-turn Unearthing? (T4 disrupt, T5 combo/T5 disrupt, T6 combo?) Because the deck was designed to 2-turn combo. Also, a lot of your SB choices are different from what Jacobs originally had... would you mind explaining them?
i only unearth turn 3 a rat or 2 if my opp just have 2 cards in hand so i can put him in top deck mode til i combo.
also i have around 25 cards in sd. but i watch guy testin before tourney to see the meta
flashfreeze : 50% jund, hemorragues.
spell pierce: that can deal with jund charm, hemorrage and other stuffs, since you combo when the opp have less than 5 - 6 lands.

doom blade : last tourney i went to 1 life caus of kazandus blademasters + lot of allys, those counters on allys suxs if you have no removal U.u
leviathan: gives u some tempo, saved my life in 3 matchs agaisnt elves, jund and control (luminarch ascension)

What do you mean you have around 25 cards "in sd.?" And your board seems awfully anti-hate; are you expecting that Jund is going to recognize Crypt as a threat? Because you should try to devote some board space to RDW and Boros (Blister Beetle and Immortal Coil) (the former is especially good, as it helps you combo out). Also, Deathmark > Doom Blade if you don't have many mono blue or mono red targets (which there aren't too many of). And I personally never Unearth until either
A. I have nothing better to do (includes cycling, etc.)
B. I have an Extractor Demon along with my Unearthers
C. I'm going in for the kill
A's not always optimal, but B and C usually are. Remember, even if it looks good on paper to Unearth Rotting Rats your opponent's hand, unless you're discarding black creatures, you're setting yourself up for failure when you try to go off (unless there's an Extractor Demon or two in the mix). Hard casting them's fun, though. Blocker + discard + combo set-up. You've seen the video, right? Because Jacobs himself has some choice words on the deck's play.
i said i have around 25 cards in sideboard, of course i use 15, it just depends on the meta, on last 2 tourneys was like " woot! theres no bushwackers! " so immortal coil and beetles went out , also i keeped the doom blades for RDW, destroyin those 4/4 flyers with unearth or a 7/1 elemental
i saw jacobs video, maybe i didnt understood everythin caus i suxs in english x) so be plp be patient , ill watch it again
note.- i love this , ill try to improve my deck, keep ideas coming please!
Unearthing Rats is a good move a lot of the time. They always hurt your opponent and they almost always help you. Rats are the MVP of the deck for me.
And I am running Doomblades now instead of Deathmarks. I hate not being able to kill with instant speed and there just aren't many black creatures I worry that much about.
i tested gatekeepers bt i cant cast it caus of the BBB unless i have a crypt. fleshbag can help unless they have to many creatures and fleshbag is only gonna slow down the combo in that situation.
also, theres lot of black creatures to worry about, all vampires, all b jund creatures :p, but doom blade helps agaisnt RDW .
