I've been running a G/R Elfdrazi deck for quite sometime with a playset of Banefires and have found it to be quite an amazing card in a ramp deck. I got to thinking last night with the additions of cards such as Everflowing Chalice, Quest for Renewal and Omnath, Locus of Mana is there something here for pure ramp into a massive early game Banefire?
I don't know, I've built a partial skeleton but in need of those who have greater experience to shed some light and help me create something out of this or help me realize there is nothing here at all.
Was considering the idea of dropping in some Lotus Cobra's to help generate some extra mana in the event I draw spell heavy early/mid-game but I was trying to stay away from creatures that are not elves as they benefit the Archdruid.
Thinking Burst Lightning > Lightning Bolt since I'm bound to have the mana laying around early game to play it kicked with out much concern, but I may just be talking out of my ass.
I like the inclusion of Chandra, but the thing is that the deck needs to be built to run it (like yours), but it's an awesome idea! I'll put it on the main page
If you gonna use one of the previous suggested elf decks, i would use Joraga Warcaller instead of the Bushwhacker just because for 1 more mana he gives +1/+1 untill he dies, that and you can make him him bigger
After play testing a few of the decks on this thread, i personally feel that there it to much land for me, so what elfs would you suggest putting in i was thinking Druid of Anima
It's a little too slow, I've found. That's why I run Birds of Paradise, because that turn 1 Mana Production is so good. Noble Hierach works fine, also.
Cascading into Banefire is a bad plan. Also with the amount of ramp you have, I would think you should have something more to ramp into.
I agree that cascadeing into banefire isnt good, but as far as stuff to ramp into Omnath, Locus of Mana and Banefire are good options. Joraga Warcaller would have a home in this deck. As might the dreaded Warp World.

Hows about the avenger and then warpworld O.o thats a lot of warping of worlds...
The elephant master is always fun to play with too.
Im running the same elfs and amount and land, and i personally feel that there is to much land and not quite enough creatures. So anyone know of what i could add to the deck in place of some land? I already have the Joragas counted for and its 60 cards (usually run 65 card decks - personal preference) Would be cutting 4 lands at most
Reason why I'm not running 4 Nissa is because once shes out, its a dead draw pretty much. I'm also short 1 Rootbound crag >_<.
So i was thinking about lowering the land count to 18 or 17 cause even with 20 lands i feel like I'm drawing land to much and with the mana acceleration I'm getting from all my creatures its really a waste to draw into land. Also was thinking bout bringing it up to 65 cards (most of my decks are and Ive done fine at tourneys)
All criticism welcome and appreciated - Thanks

I will be adding the extra joraga, its the promo card from my local card shop this friday =D
Hmm adding burst lightning i was thinking about adding another elf like possibly Oracle of Mul Daya or even Druid of the Anima, you are right about the removal though ill play around with that =D
But also like i said i dont mind going up to 65 cards
My old burn deck ran 65 with i think 17 land and never really got mana screwed. I was seriously considering the Oracle of Mul Daya because unless i draw into a mana pool or 2 lands in a row i should always have an elf playable, that and i always have a card playable. I would probably put the Oracles in place of the altar

If it was me I would:
-2 Fog: Would hate to cascade into and doesn't seem needed to me.
-1 Arbor Elf: Reason Below
-2 Land: Just cos you want to and work with what I want to add lol
+1 Joraga Warcaller: Love the card, and it's v prone to removal imho, so having 4 means more likely to have one stick.
+4 Burst Lightning: Extra removal is always fun, and is also extra burn can use to there face when they in burn range.
Land wise, I would look into getting your 4th rootbound, and maybe a 4 oran
Hope that helps Eldrazi Elf's all the way
2nd all this. I also say max Nissa for the same reason as Joraga. Fog is better in the SB unless RDW is extremely common in your area.

Here's what I have thus far:

3 Elvish Visionary
4 Elvish Archdruid
4 Bloodbraid Elf
2 Omnath, Locus of Mana
4 Everflowing Chalice
4 Quest for Renewal
4 Canopy Cover
4 Burst Lightning

Not very impressive early on, but late game he can be a killer. Hell, even mid game could be won off of him because of how many dudes we can pump out!
Discuss?
