I have a 360-card cube and my players are reacting to the lack of outlets for sacrificing and discarding cards. Surely, I already have some, like Wild Mongrel, Psychatog, Greater Gargadon, etc. (will post a cube list when I get around to it), but there are just not enough and some archetypes seem to suffer from it, like reanimator and lots of decks with sui-stuff that wants to get rid of Bob/arena, other decks again might want to get rid of enchantments simply because they get in the way in a later part of the game or the opponent plays something unexpected.
My question is then; what are good choices for sac. outlets (mostly need sacrificing possibilities) and discard outlets that are useable in cube? Hope this hasn't been answered in another thread and thanks for all comments :).
re sac:
in my exerience getting rid of a Bob in an aggresive build is never really a problem, since I tend to win with/lose against a truly aggressive deck, when the more controlling player can't get rid of him. worst case, you could throw a spotremoval at him.
Phyrexian Arena sometimes gets Disenchanted by its owner after a long Control-mirror.
There is no true sac-archetye in my cube, but Braids/Smokestack-decks occur often, favorably paired with Squee, Crucible of Worlds or Bloodghast.
re discard:
Discard cards should be good on their own and work in different archetypes (ie: Looters, Masticores, Survival etc.), imho especially in a smaller cube. How many reanimation-spells do you cube with?
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
Except it's in one of the most competitive casting cost slots in the entire cube. White's 5-drops are way too good for World Queller, IMO. Way too good.
in queller's defense, i think it's maybe the best card mentioned in this thread that most people aren't already running. not good enough for the average cube, but not a bad choice if you wanted to push sacrifice themes.

There's also High Market. Like Miren, it lost a lot because of the removal of stacked damage. On the plus side, it doesn't cost you mana to activate it.
Hey I'm considering cutting Heir of Falkenrath because only ever being able to discard once often isn't enough. What are some other black, repeatable discard outlets for reanimator? We already play the Prowler and at 360, and I feel like I want one more repeatable black discard outlet. Have people tried Cryptbreaker, Putrid Imp, Olivia's Dragoon, or raven's crime? Or is it better to just stick with the Heir for its mediocre ability to be played in aggro?
Rotting Regisaur has replaced Heir in my 540 cube. Cryptbreaker has been fairly decent, seeing slightly more play in aggro shells than combo... I also like but don't have room for Miasmic Mummy as a flexible option between a one-time discard enabler and value/disruption (more in pauper, especially if you support white or blue blink).
Yawgmoth and Rankle both cost 4, so very much too slow for combo-style reanimator, but can help with a value-recursion strategy.
Ransack the Lab is a great filtration effect and should be played in more cubes than it currently is.
I still run Heir because it's a fine aggro card in addition to being a discard outlet. But yes, Regisaur is better in the decks that really want to fill the graveyard.

You know, I've been thinking about this card lately too, as well as Chain of Smog.
I get lots of flack for running this guy, but he's a house because of how situational he is... as in, he can help disrupt any situation.

It's all about Viscera Seer instead. He's actually quite good from my casual experiences with him.
