I believe the two set of proxies I'm being asked to comment are on is why I judged Theogony_IX lower the rest and Sabet higher.
Theogony_X: I didn't find the art you used to be a good fit for a 2/1 creature for 2 mana. (it would make awesome mother of runes art). I disliked the spiling over the name and the lack of a body on the bottom of the card.
Murderous Redcap: The art chosen for this was horible. Murderous Redcap is a goblin. It's not a woman in a "I can see your nipples your rags are so thin" dress. This is the kind of thing that gives Magic a bad name.
Also the decision to end her leg where you do looks awkward and white text on a white background is hard to read.
Contagion: Your best proxy, I still don't get the mechanical connection between a cheshire cat and contagion (a plague). I know the original art had a cat, but frankly that art didn't make sense either.
That and the white stroke on the letters in the text box are distracting and hard tor ead.
Sabett:
Tragic Slip: I love this proxy. It takes guts to do something this minimilistic in a contest and I appreciate that. The bannana set symbol was a good choice. I would perfer if you would have used a vector bannana instead, but o-well.
Pillage: I like the efffort that went into making your own custom template. While I probably wouldn't replace all the red cards in my cube with such a template, It is a nice diversion from the standard one and better than some I've seen in other games.
Man-o'-War: The least successful of all three of your cards soley due to that damn drop shadow. If it wasn't for that this would be a terrific proxy.

You caught the lack of a body on her too. I did not see that actually. Good catch from the judges there.
Murderous Redcap: The art chosen for this was horible. Murderous Redcap is a goblin. It's not a woman in a "I can see your nipples your rags are so thin" dress. This is the kind of thing that gives Magic a bad name.

For those of you who say she's not a goblin, David Bowie in Labyrinth wants to have a word with you.
I don't actually know if he's a goblin himself in that movie actually. It's been forever. At any rate, I was unaware of your strong feelings regarding the display of the female figure. I also wasn't aware Magic has a bad name. But know thy audience, I suppose.
Luis Royo just hasn't done a goblin to fit redcap, and Royo art was a theme a chose to introduce, which I will comment on below. I figured the off race depiction would be hit or miss.
Contagion: Your best proxy, I still don't get the mechanical connection between a cheshire cat and contagion (a plague). I know the original art had a cat, but frankly that art didn't make sense either.

This evaluation baffles me somewhat, so I find it hard to respond, but I will say that the hidden drop shadow was the best solution to the illegible design of plain black text.
It seems the concepts I introduced in my submissions went unnoticed, though I'm not sure if Xenocyde saw them or not. I stuck to a theme of using Luis Royo art for each piece to bring coherence to the aesthetic presentation of my submissions. I was worried I would have to abandon this after a while since I couldn't find an appropriate goblin for Redcap, and finding a Missionary was rather difficult as well. But I stand behind my art choices. The other design theme I introduced to my submissions was a color theme that reflected my three chosen cards, red, white, and black. It's difficult to explain how this effected my entries in detail, but the spill of the blood through the text box on the Contagion render is one example.
Overall it seems that you really just did not like any of the creative liberties I took with my submissions, and that is disappointing.

Jareth is the Goblin King of The Labyrinth, a vast kingdom within another realm. Though the ruler of the goblins, Jareth actually is not a goblin, and he appears human, though he could also be a fey.
Think of him as King of the Goblin rather than a king that is a goblin.
At any rate, I was unaware of your strong feelings regarding the display of the female figure. I also wasn't aware Magic has a bad name. But know thy audience, I suppose.
It's not that I am against the display of the female figure. It's just there is no point to have a nearly naked woman there.
Luis Royo just hasn't done a goblin to fit redcap, and Royo art was a theme a chose to introduce, which I will comment on below. I figured the off race depiction would be hit or miss.
Then you should of
A. Picked a different artist
B. Picked a different card
C. Not limited yourself to one artist.
Any way you put it, You gave yourself limitations you didn't need. And I think they backfired.

I'm not sure what baffles you. My critique was a chesire cat has nothing to do with plague (what the card depicts) and the white stroke on the text makes it hard for me to read the card text. An aside. A blood splatter is an odd choice for a card that is about sickness and decay. Blood suggests trauma. I guess it could be like spitting up blood, but that is a stretch.
A cat has nothing to do with a plague and is just an odd art choice. And once again it was your choice to put the blood splatter on the card art. You could have been like Ninshi who rearanged the text so the spill wouldn't overlap the information. You could of moved theblood splatter so it wouldn't be over the text at all. You could have made the blood transparent so we could see through it. You could have made the entire text box a dark color and just used a lighter shade of text. You had options, and I feel like the one you used did not work.

What's this? Theogony is not insisting in proving his art choice for the Red-cap was the best? Oh wait... he's not a mod and he's taking it like a man. Sure, he might get into trouble if he flames over Pringlesman's rationale... Pringles is a mod. But you, Sabett, seem to disregard and dismiss my judgmental skills and coincidentally, you're a mod. Let us not forget about that guy who was banned for making a ton of BSAs.
Also, I felt it would be unfair for the others who actually took the time to spill all three proxies as to not give them more points in this regard. I judged harshly, that was my intention. You did not paint the artwork either! You may have modified it, sure, but that's minimal work. 1 for no spill, that was my rule, I was given the right to exact that kind of ruling, although it is not specifically stated in the rules that spilling is a requisite. You're trying hard to impose your point of view and to prove me wrong at all costs, but I won't be impressed. If this contest taught you to improve your proxy-making skills, that's fine by me and that's what we should pay attention to... if not, that's your problem. I did not suggest you become a judge and still participate in the contest. I was thinking you should become a judge and slice & dice through my future entries, because your tone was a little vindictive if you ask me. "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged" - that's what I was offering to you.
Actually, I have an idea: there should be one day and one hour only to post the entries, and with these entries, the contender could provide a mini-tutorial explaining how he came up with the concepts and how he applied them. That way, future judges could understand better the intentions and moods and whatever is hard to understand via this online medium.
