Are the original 8 gyms playable? Because it seems like a cool ashetic thing to run.
I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but it seems like you are asking if the original Kanto Gym Leader Stadiums are worth running. In my mind not really, since many of them are specific to certain Pokemon that aren't in the cube.
Oh no I mean the trainer cards that have the gym leaders on them. Like Brock which removes one damage counter from each of the pokemon that has any damage counters.

The cube really looks fantastic!.
I'm pretty sure most if not all of the other Gym Leader Trainers have effects specific to their Pokemon. I think Lt Surge and Erika have "generic" effects (but they're not great), and the rest do not. Like Blaine lets you play two more fire energies to one of your Blaine's Pokemon. Sabrina lets you energy transfer from a Sabrina's Pokemon, Giovanni lets you evolve a Giovanni's Pokemon with no restriction, Misty lets you discard two cards to give one of your Misty's pokemon +20 damage this turn,

Wildfire summed it up very well. Most of the Gym Leaders don't due much in the Cube, but I agree it would be nice if they could be included for nostalgia sake. Sadly they just don't cut it. But Misty's Wrath is in the Cube, so at least one of them made it in.
I see you're not running Scoop Up or Super Scoop Up? Is there a reason you excluded them? I remember them both being really powerful.
EDIT: I also don't see Seeker. Team Galatic's Wager is a fun one, too.
Seeker is there. It's chilling next to Scott. As for Scoop Up/ Super Scoop Up, we did I SSU in there for awhile. It ended up getting cut because of the coin flip. When you only get a single copy of each Trainer, the missing on the flip becomes are bigger deal. Mr. Briney's Compassion does the same thing and it is a guarantee, even though it is a Supporter.
A couple of the spoiler pictures are improperly linked to the full-size pictures. In particular, Supporters4 pops up Item.png, and Item2 pops up Energy.png. Also, the Eevees pops up the Eeveelutions.
Also, have you considered Juggler? I never played with it around, but I remember seeing someone running a haymaker deck a few years back with a few copies of it in it (as the only newer cards), which caught my attention. It's a little worse than Felicity's Drawing if you only pitch one, but it draws more cards if you can pitch two.

Thanks for pointing out the image issues. I have been trying to resolve the problem, but once one thing is fixed another gets messed up. I'm not sure what is going on or why, but I am trying to figure something out.
We did consider Juggler. It does have the potential to draw a decent amount of cards if you discard two energy. We basically decided against it since it requires you to only discard basic energy instead of any card.
I have had the luck to play the pokecube (and the luck to know Travy (and his Renewers)). It is absolutely awesome, especially considering how Pokemon wasn't made for this.
I like the idea of additional lines you're considering adding. However, you do need every trainer you can get in your cube deck. No matter what deck I have made over the many games, my deck is always better with more Trainers. They are, like Travy said, the oil that makes your deck run.
Also, I feel like with the modern pokemon power growth (in both HP and attack power), I feel like the traditional colors that were weaker power-wise but messed with status effects (Psychic and Grass) have been left behind and are racing to catch up. Unfortunately, for cube lines, you need to use many, many years, meaning you are forced to use the pokemon before the incessant power creep. In other words you're forced to use a Gengar with less HP than your Haunters and an ability and attack that would cost much less under modern times. He's still very good, but I dream of an updated version.
I really wish there was a way to put Sneasel in the cube, but from what I saw he's a pretty sub par Pokemon (except for the Rocket SP one, which looks INSANE to me); granted, I didn't look at many of the Weaviles, so maybe it could go pretty well. Mind you, I don't know much about Pokemon card power levels.

I know this is presumptuous of me to say, not having even drafted the Pokecube myself at all, but one of the concerns I had when I first found Travy's list was that having only two evolution lines per colour could potentially make drafting a bit stale after a while. I mean, as long as you're face-up-on-the-table drafting, and as long as you don't have too much competition for lines from other drafters, surely decks have a pretty good chance of looking very similar from draft to draft. I figured that adding more evolution lines might help combat that.
That said, yes, trainers are obviously very important. I'll end up sticking to a similar number to Travy's list....so my cube is going to be huge.
....considering how Pokemon wasn't made for this....
With that in mind, and given that my cube is going to end up being pretty large, I think I'll probably just tweak the normal drafting process so that we draft 4 packs per drafter. As I think somebody has already said in this thread, it's important that most (or all) of the cube gets drafted every time....I mean, for example, if I had a 500 card cube and 8 drafters, it'd be pretty bad if all six Combuskens just randomly ended up amongst the cards that weren't even used in the draft.

I hear you. One of the reasons I was originally attracted to this cube was that my brother and I have a large collection of old-school Pokemon cards from years ago (think Base Set, Fossil, Jungle) that have been sitting in storage for years -- we basically bought out an entire store's inventory in a closing-down sale (for an absurdly low price.) My first thought when I saw Travy's list was "finally a chance to use those old cards." Imagine my surprise when I did some reading up on the modern Pokemon TCG and found that virtually nothing from back then is useful anymore. Well, besides the energies.
What are people's thoughts on Zorua/Zoroark? Zoroark looks insane to me, but I suspect the line suffers from a lack of numbers of Zoruas -- there are just enough to run a 6/4 Zorua/Zoroark line, but most Zoruas look quite weak/boring, and because of the numbers shortage they'd all have to be included.
However, the same could be said about Magikarp -> Gyarados....pathetically weak basics, but the power of the evolved form makes it worth it.

One thing that does keep drafting fresh is that players don't always get to play the same lines. There are 16 different lines in the Cube, not counting Eevee and the Eeveelutions, which adds to a bunch of diversity. With the Cube as it is right now there has been various options for people when drafting and there has never been a shortage of evolutions lines. There are even times where an entire line does not even get played. Plus, the lines are designed that more than one player could also play them. So you could have two people playing Kingdra, which adds further diversity. (This does happen almost every draft). You might find that adding even more lines to the Cube makes it too big.
I saw that you mentioned using packs. While uses packs to draft is tempting because that is the normal Magic way, I would highly suggest against it. We tried some drafts that way and it is very awkward. Signals are non existent and you have no way of knowing if the person to your left in cutting you out of Machamp or if the Machamps are all hiding in pack three. Plus, splash and fixing in Pokemon does not work at all like it does in Magic, further weakening your decks and strategies with the traditional drafting process. In many ways the Pokemon TCG is about building combo decks around Pokemon and Trainers. It is very difficult to build up the needed critical mass of certain cards without drafting face up.

I understand your fear that it will be stale, but it's no more stale than a regular cube. Just like a regular cube, people know what cards are around and what archetype they can try for.
Pokemon requires special care so people get lines, which means you have to keep things simpler so that everyone can play the game. You only get two get two picks per pack with the way we draft, meaning that the pack that has more than 2 cards per line that you need to make your deck is very awkward. This will happen more often the more lines you put in.
Also, it is very difficult to consistently play more than 2 lines of pokemon per deck. So, with expanded the number of lines per color, I feel like you're just adding to the chaff that will have to be cut from every draft deck.

I agree with this. You need that critical mass of specific Pokemon otherwise your deck will suffer. Adding more lines just increases the chance you won't get the cards you need.
Travy, with the addition of new and good eevees and eevee evolutions in the recent set, have you considered going up to 4 eevee evolutions per color? Eevee is probably the most powerful stage one in each color, so it makes sense.

Oh man, TGW was so fun to use. I had a playset in my Darkwing Duck (Honchkrow line) deck when I played.
Sadly, I think stuff like Judge, while not as fun, is more consistent for hand disruption purposes.
I agree Seeker deserves a spot and the Scoops are worth a look.

I still think normal Scoop Up might be good enough. Resetting big basics and cards like Uxie is solid.
