What's everyone's favourite Disenchant? I'm currently running Ice Age but looking to upgrade - evaluating between (played) Beta, or foil 7th. Thoughts?
For me, personally, I'm just not a fan of full art no text versions of cards. Of course using a textless Disenchant is different from using a textless Cryptic Command, but I'm just not a fan of the aesthetics of textless cards. I wouldn't mind a version of that in the new full art style, though. The art on it is nice.
I've gone out of the way to remove textless cards from my cube entirely, for the same reason as I've worked to avoid non-English cards (still one short on that one though!). Even if most people I would cube with are enfranchised, occasionally I'll have people join that don't otherwise play any more. They're generally fine with reading up on/having new mechanics explained to them, but anything I can do to minimize people asking questions during draft (and thereby revealing to everyone what's in the pack) generally improves the play experience, both for them for not having to feel awkward asking and for everyone else for maintaining the integrity of the draft. If people want to chat about packs because it's a casual event, that's fine, but if they feel they have to ask because they don't know/remember what something does, then that's less great.

I agree completely. I have no completely textless cards in my cube and very few non-English cards left that I want to replace. I do have a few non-English cards that I don't want to replace, though, that I feel are worth the exception.
Japanese Foil Buy-A-Box Birds of Paradise
Japanese Foil Mercadian Masques Counterspell
Japanese FBB Lightning Bolt
Korean Foil M12 Llanowar Elves
These cards are just so iconic that most people, even those that aren't so enfranchised, would know what they are and what they do. Plus they look sweet! I love my Korean Llanowar.
We also have a Spanish Foil Meloku. The text reads that it makes 2/2s. We don't play it that way, but it is a sweet misprint.
Here's a true story from 100 years ago when we still had Diabolic Servitude in the cube. One of our players calls out in the middle of a draft, "What's this card do?" He holds up the Servitude. At the time we had a lot more foreign cards in the cube, so I honestly just assumed it was foreign. Another player explains what it does, the guy acknowledges and places it back in the pack, makes his pick and passes. The pack reaches the guy who had explained the card and he exclaims, "Dude, this card is in English!" This has since been a running joke among our group and the go to response whenever someone asks about a card now. Cube is a blast.
I love having arts from various promotional sets whenever possible, so am trying to figure out if I can add any of the new Signature Spellbook: Gideon to the cube.
At the risk of starting a hot-button topic, I've started the process of removing Terese Nielsen arts from my cube, of which there were 9. Some don't really have multiple other options, but I figured I'd check for others' opinions on choices (even if they may not align with my preferences/what I've already purchased).
Ugh. A little late to the party here. I didn't know any of this until i read this post.
I will not remove already existing art in my cube. But even though I like Therese Nielsens art, I will definitely think about it in the future if I have options to add other art. I will just vote with my own wallet and support other artists instead. I won't own any play mat with her art. I won't own any prints, etc. It probably won't make a difference, but whatever little helps.

Why, what's wrong with Therese Nielsen? The pointless geometry?
Ok, Big Predicament here. I am currently in the process of trading for an Arabian nights city of brass. That will leave my cube with only 1 white boarder card left. Imperial Recruiter P3 edition. I am torn because I think the P3 and Judge artwork > A25. P3 edition the card text is cool since it's the only card that has the Sword and Shield and overall look. However, it does have an ugly white border. Not sure what to do... What is everyone's thoughts on here?
At first I sharpied a PTK card. It turned out well, but felt wrong even though it was a worthless 5 mana 2/3 with Horsemanship or whatever.
Then I bought Ultimate Guard black bordered inner sleeves, which suck and only work on white bordered 8th edition cards FFS. Instead of erring on the side of being a smidge too big, they erred on the side of being exact size or a smidge too small so they don't actually work for what you want them for.
Now I just fully embrace the white border. I have some of the PTK basics in my cube and they're some of the greatest basic land arts in the game. The white border is just an extension of that, if that makes sense.
Stick with the PTK print with the original border. You can't improve on something that's already perfect. Just embrace it.
Why, what's wrong with Therese Nielsen? The pointless geometry?
It is pointless but I don't mind it.
You should do some Googling on this. She has had some Twitter interactions that support questionable ideals.
I'm having difficulty finding the exact things she did that are controversial. Enlighten me. All I can find is hearsay and one meme she apparently liked.
I mean, ultimately I only play constructed Pauper and Pauper cube. I don't buy any Magic products new, and I do legitimately hate the CCG model. I also hate the vast majority of card art done post 2007-ish because I view it to be soulless Photoshop garbage, so there is no real reason for me to buy anything new from WoTC. So none of the money I spend on Magic would have the potential to fund Therese Nielsen.
Politically I'd consider myself a Social Democrat. I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary and Hillary in the general election. Despite being to the left, I'm kind of indifferent to the issue of gun rights and I don't consider transgender people to actually be the gender they purport to be.

To be honest, I don't think this is the place to get into a discussion of politics, so I'll just leave it at that. You're welcome to dig deeper into the Therese Nielsen Twiter fiasco if you like.

Could you at least PM them to me?
It seems rather convenient to participate in a political discussion and then when actually challenged to source something, all of a sudden decide that this isn't the place for politics.
EDIT: Sorry, got your name mixed up with someone else. I mistakenly thought it was you who started the conversation. Sorry if I came off as brash.
I mean, the original post on this topic in this thread was simply to ask for the 'best' options for non-TN arts for cards currently in that person's cube. Which lightly touches the issue, but mostly stays on topic for an aesthetics thread. If you want to discuss or read about what happened, I'd recommend taking that discussion to Reddit or some other forum where it's more appropriate. This is the cube forum and this thread specifically is for discussing preferred versions of specific cards to include in your cube.
I'm personally not a fan of this art style on cards. I do like the Creature Collection series from SCG for things like tokens and play mats, and I'm a cat person, but this style didn't do it for me on the cards specifically. For reference I have the Tasipurr playmat from SCG and love the art on it, but I don't think I'd want that art on the card itself. Maybe I'm weird.
While we're on the subject of these Secret Lair versions of cube cards, what are thoughts on the rest? I was a little worried I'd be tempted to buy myself a 200 dollar Christmas gift and get the whole bundle, but now that I've seen them all, I'm only interested in the Bitterblossom set for cube.
While I do like the “Sun” armor of the promo, the titan aspect is not anywhere as noticeable as the normal art.
The duel deck art makes perfect sense with the Heroes vs Monsters vibe and may be what some people are looking for art wise, but Original Art Sun Titan is my favorite.
As for symbol, I like M12, since it is a 6/6 and 6+6=12.
Thoughts on the new Judge arts over existing arts? I'm definitely slotting in the new Demonic Tutor over the Revised copy I have, since the flavor of this new one strikes just the right tone for me, but am torn on Enlightened Tutor, since I run the Arena foil currently.
I don't run Spellseeker in my unpowered cube, but am reconsidering.
Gamble seems like a dubious cube inclusion to me, but I figured I'd post it here for completeness's sake.
EDIT: Regarding the rest of the Secret Lair drops, there isn't anything else that calls to me. I prefer the Nils Hamm or Rebecca Guay arts for Bitterblossom more, so won't be swapping it, the Life from the Loam and Bloodghast arts are neat, but aren't in foil, and while I like some of the other arts, I don't run any of the rest of them in the cube.
I am hoping to get stained-glass art of one of Narset, Saheeli, or Liliana when I buy the Cats drop, though.
Of those 4, I'm only including Demonic Tutor in my cube right now, but I like the art on Spellseeker, Demonic Tutor, and Enlightened Tutor. I think if I were to run Gamble, I prefer the Urza's Saga, but this one's not bad. It'd be the option I'd go with if I wanted a foil Gamble. I've just added Watermarket so I have been saving up for the Daarken Judge Promo Demonic Tutor, but I think I prefer this Demonic Tutor, so I'm going to plan on picking it up.
I'm not interested in any of these. First and foremost, that watermark is egregious. Looking at the cards individually, though, Gamble isn't really a cube card, so not really looking at that one. Spellseeker is a bit of a fringe cube card, so if I ran it and didn't already have a foil Battlebond version, I could see trying to pick this one up. I do like the artwork here and could probably overlook that watermark for it. I'm not as big on the D Tutor artwork as others seem to be, plus I already have a signed Beta version in the cube. I do like the Enlightened Tutor artwork, but again, I already have a pimp version with the Arena League promo, so not looking at this one either.
As an aside, I'm baffled by the lack of Worldly Tutor in this set. Now that's a card I think cubers would jump on. It's only seen two printings, both the same art, one with a white border, and neither can be foiled. Seems like a huge missed opportunity.

Cards not in the cube, and therefore not contenders:
-Martyr's Bond
-Rest in Peace
-Shielded by Faith
-True Conviction
-Worship
-Blackblade Reforged
Which just leaves 2 options:
-Gideon Jura (currently ROE foil)
-Path to Exile (currently WPN promo foil)
Would anyone here consider making either of these two swaps?

Ignoring what Magic players say isn't the answer, it's listening to what they have to say and doing the exact opposite that's correct.

I feel like this will do nothing except give the Alt-Reich fuel. I also don't think it's accomplishing much either, perhaps it could end up having the opposite effect.
