What do you guys do about sleeves getting dirty? I have KMC Perfect Fits inside of silver Dragon Shields which I store in a clean dry area. After a few drafts, the cards will get little greyish/brown specs on the front. I'll usually just use another card to scratch the specs away on particularly bad cards, but after a while, those specs start to get on the inside on the Perfect Fits and cannot be easily scratched off. So annoying.

Have the same issue on my outside sleeves, not on my inside ones. I scratch it off same as you. I'd love a better solution though I do need to resleeve my cube at some point. Man I love KMC sleeves, coming up on three years using the same sleeves and I've had to replace maybe 15 due to splitting.

I think the issue is that I've had the same perfect fits for almost 2 years. I probably need to just bite the bullet and resleeve the whole thing. I haven't used anything but DSs, but I'd be interested in maybe trying out KMCs. I've heard good things.
I have been using normal ultra pro sleeves for about 8 months now and never felt the need either to double sleeve or to clean them. I changed them recently after 8 months of use at least 3 times a week but even then thats only because I am fussy, most people would still be happy using them. They are not available in the UK but I do not really understand the purpose of KMC Perfect Fits, is it as simple as another layer of protection?
Perfect Fits are there to protect against dirt and also it's a nice protector against all things wet. I don't know if you've ever seen how absorbent a 15 year old Magic card is. Literally .05 seconds of exposure to a liquid will ruin a card.
I need to purchase new sleeves for my C/U cube fairly soon. Have you really been cubing with the same Dragon Shields for three years? Or have you just been sticking with that brand for three years? I've bought a lot of sleeves over the years and I can say that the ones that have held up the best since I bought them forever ago are the one box of Dragon Shields that I bought. I'm definitely considering getting this brand when I buy. If for nothing else, then to at least have a variety and to get a feel for a different sleeve.
The original set I bought 3 years ago is actually holding my Jhoira EDH deck right now. But yeah, the only time I have ever needed to buy new Dragon Shields is when I ran out of sleeves to put decks in. You can tell the difference between the sleeves only by the amount of dirt on them, but that is just because I haven't had the time to clean all the sleeves recently.

I like Dragon Shields but prefer KMC. They are pretty similar sleeves but KMC is usually slightly cheaper and are much more consistent. I've had wide variations between boxes of the "same" DS sleeves.
Regarding perfect fits I feel they also reduce wear on the cards. None of the cards in my cube are showing shuffling creases that I've seen on other cards that I use less. Can't say for sure this is due to the prefects but they can't hurt.
the fact of the matter is, dirt will accumulate on anything seeing a lot of play. making sure that dirt doesn't get on the cards is the entire purpose of sleeves. if we could avoid dirt accumulating, we wouldn't need sleeves in the first place. so i don't think there's a solution to sleeves getting dirty. you just have to replace them every once and a while.

in addition to what others have said, even if you are extremely careful with sleeved cards (as i am) dust and dirt naturally build up in the sleeve opening. double sleeving prevents this from getting on/ground into the tops of your cards. anyone running power or even stuff like force of will and jace, the mind sculptor should probably be double sleeving unless they don't care about maintaining the condition of their cards or can't afford it.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
You can clean sleves with rubbing alcohol or douse them in baby powder like you would your hands when you need a pool stick to be slicker. it work well.
I'm currently using Ultra Pro Matte Reds as my sleeves of choice and I can't say that I'm that pleased with the performance of these sleeves. I find that UPs tend to bend at the corners a lot and shuffling can be very difficult at times. One bonus is that the these sleeves tend to stay cleaner for a longer period of time.
I'm seriously thinking about making the move to KMC's since I'm planning on getting Perfect Fits anyway. I'd get Dragonshields if I could, but Taiwan is in short supply.
As for my storage, I recently procured the new WoW Trading Card game card box for the new Scourge War set and it just looks sweet. I'm that guy who shows up at Magic tournaments rocking WoW sleeves, a WoW playmat with my PTQ top 8 pins in it, and a WoW deck box. I've never really played the WoW TCG but I have to admit that their storage options are much sweeter than Magic's.
I took a snapshot of my cube storage last night. My wife has been drawing on my long boxes for as long as we've been together. She'll usually just grab my foil binder and and pick something she likes. The drawings are on every side of the box and even the inner-flap. My current box is on the left.
I actually sleeve my cards in black ultrapro and then in toploaders. Takes a little getting used to playing them, but it works, and is good for my paranoia about people who bend cards when they play them (you know that 'slapping it down with my thumb'-thing? I don't want that on my Library of Alexandria etc.).

I was volunteering at a friend's card shop for a Legend of the Five Rings event. It was pretty big, drawing players from all over the state (or more?), so we had a guest artist. Steve Argyle! For keeping him company all day (and it was a long day), he agreed to doodle on one of my cards, even if it wasn't his own.
Enter Afro-jani, my most prized Magical possession. I decided to start drawing him on my cube's longbox, and I made him a shaggadellic girlfriend out of Blade of the Sixth Pride while I was at it.
I know its probably been asked to death, but due to a recent incident involving my cube and colt .45 I need new sleeves.
My old sleeves were painfully obnoxious sparkly blue walmart turds.
What's the best option for new sleeves without double sleeving?
ultra pro, dragonshield or KMC?
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Ya they do. If they don't all come from the same case, they're often different heights.
But I've split twice the number of KMCs over the last year in my cube than I've split dragonshields in my whole career. Dragon Shields scratch easier and they have consistency issues if thy don't come from the same case... but the damn things are indestructible.
With Perfect Fits though, they fit better into KMCs than any other sleeve, so I'd go all KMC if you're gonna x2 sleeve.
I've not split a single UltraPro sleeve in a few years but they seem to blemish fairly easily. It's annoying to play with 'cloudy' sleeves, and the effect seems to be amplified by foils, particularly in poor lighting conditions. The Perfect Fit sleeve underneath doesn't do many favours either
They're decent but I'd consider other options when I come to resleeve my cube in a year or so.
I know it sounds like overkill but I actually use dragon shields + top loaders right now. That's right, top loaders. I will be adding perfect fits too since some dirt has been getting in still but I was actually considering switching to the ultra pros with the magic the gathering backing (just for aesthetics).

Generally I wouldn't recommend anyone to use foiled sleeves. They tear and needs to be replaced much faster.
I would use KMC doublesleeves with any cube. The blank colors are somewhat foily, so you could use them.
