@Horizon Lands
Was this supposed to be a cycle? Now you make me wonder how they would play in cube. I would assume I'd expand my non-basics to have a series of 10 Horizon Canopy lands. At 5, I'm not sure (like if they only did allied-colors). This makes me want to add more custom cards lol.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
I doubt Horizon Canopy can be printed as a cycle. That would be atrocious for Constructed formats. It could be an option with different activated ability, but 10 cantrip lands just cannot be Constructed legal.
Why not? This would eliminate the problem of mana flood, which would be something positive for the game IMO. Mana screw and flood are two of the most annoying things of mtg.
There is no way they'd print a manabase for constructed where half the lands can cantrip. The land is too good to have a full cycle of 10 in the same block. They'd need to be different abilities, and only the original Canopy would be capable of drawing cards.
i doubt they'd reprint horizon canopy as part of a cycle with different abilities on the other cards. that effect is just not particularly green/white. the only cards with the text "sacrifice a land: draw a card" are blue. blue/black or blue/green seems like a natural home for that effect. so it would look odd to have that on canopy and not on the other lands in the cycle.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
They might print 5 or 10 Horizon Canopies, but not all at once; as Toad/wtwlf mentioned, the standard manabases would be degenerate in the extreme. A one-at-a-time supercycle seems more likely, if we ever see them at all.
I wonder in what way the new 'god' cards could be beneficial to cubers. I'm hoping that they aren't run-of-the-mill big fat creatures. They certainly look pretty with that starry frame.
I'm hoping and thinking we will get 10 of the following kind of lands:
Theros Land
Legendary Land t: Add W or U to your mana pool.
I partly think the legendary rules changes are because of these lands on their way.
I don't think we're going to get these. While the new legend rule does open up design space, I think they'll be reluctant to utilize it for something as volatile as lands, especially when the rule is still so new. For all they know, they could be changing the rule again if they find a better way or there's a massive uproar.
As for Horizon Canopy, it sees play in formats where original duals, fetches, and Wasteland are all legal. I like it, but it's too good, especially whilst trying to power down multicolor.
I hope we get one cubable god and they arent like alaras cycle of iconics.
I feel like e will be getting a good deal of dragons hydras sphinxes demons and angels in this set due to the m14 cycle.
I hope for the urborg tomb of yawg cycle personally

Angels don't seem particularly mythic Greek to me. I think we'll see few, if any, angels. That does seem to leave a hole for big white creatures, but that could be filled in with heroes or sphinxes.
I'd love a cubeworthy gorgon, and I'll take a cubeworthy satyr, minotaur, and/or sphinx as a bonus.
You've been watching Clash of the Titans too much
As cool as they are, Krakens are from Nordic mythology, not part of the Greek one. Oddly enough, Poseidon had no big sea monster to serve him.
Angels definitely play into the concepts of Greco-Roman lore. I wouldn't bank on the Baneslayer variety, but you have tales in the Odyssey of a similar nature. "Angels" could be of a Siren variety -- which would put them in the blue/white/black area of magic. They could also be heavenly 'protectors' who give the [hero] advise and occasionally alter his/her path. The pre-release will go into a [hero] subtheme, so it's not farfetched to think we could get durdly 'protector' friends like this: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120112010845/disney/images/8/81/Phil_BBS.png
I'd love for a playable white buffer. Ajani 3 does it to an extent, but he's a Planeswalker. I would love to have a creature with "T: Aerial Maneuver" effect at a decent cost.

In terms of Gorgons, these things have been crap since their inception. Visara by today's standards is nowhere near playable. If they made a gorgon playable, that'd be very nice -- but at this point I wouldn't count on it.

I really hate how they shoehorn in totally inappropriate creature types. Angels make no sense in a Greek themed set, there is no history or public perception that supports it. Dragons on innistrad were similarly stupid. Is it really that hard to give these endless retreads a break for blocks with contrary flavor?

From the theros compiled info thread:
Other confirmed creature types: Hydras, Griffins, Sphinxes, Gorgons and Kraken (Krakens were added because the film "Clash of the Titans" changed the public perception).
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
And remember, Theros' flavor is supposed to remind us of Greek mythology. Give us a Greek mythology feel. Not be Greek mythology itself. Some things are bound to be different, but the overall flavor can still be very much what they are striving for.
There is no way in hell that is real.
it is white sorcery speed divination at worst...
divination is a sorcery.... nevermind, Divination at 1WW as a worst case scenario is pretty darn good.

I believe it appeared somewhere on reddit or 4chan first. Plus, it's blurry, overpowered and Elspeth should go over the image box, like all others planeswalker. Can't say this is 100% fake, but I don't belive in it at all.

Just a heads up, Domri doesn't extend outside his box so that isn't always an indicator.
Looked over Elspeth again.
-The # of the card on the bottom (xx24x ?) is way too large.
-The space between "gains" and "protection" on the + is too awkward. They would have fixed that. Look at Jace, Architect of Thought or Jace, the Mind Sculptor by comparison. They can fit loads of text.
- The hood looks too awkward to be real. I'm not saying it needs to flow over the bar, but I can't see that as a finished product. The art could have been dragged down to alleviate this issue or zoomed out a touch.
