Submitted my cube. Somewhat disappointed that they said that adding any number of basic Wastes ranks "low on feasibility", but it is what it is. My cube is a monoblack cube that I'd been tinkering with for a while at 360 and slowly worked up to 540.
Doe MTGO not allow you to add Wastes to your deck?
I also submitted my cube a few days ago, if anybody wants to see / draft it, feel free to PM me! I'm hoping we can get at least one MTGS cube forum regular to be among the four finalists.

Apparently it doesn't - they haven't added colorless cards from OGW, so they haven't coded any support for adding Wastes to your deck. That being said, it may be the other way around.
How many people here are actually entering the competition? So far the ones that I know have entered / are entering are Cythare, Usman, and myself. I've been wondering how many contestants there are going to be all together too.
I wanted to enter my low power list, but I don't think it's different enough to stand out in the crowd. Also it's not a 540 list and I haven't had time to really sit down and work on getting it up to that number.
A powered classic cube could be pretty awesome, and seems it'd be fairly "different". That said, it wouldn't exactly spark interest in new product, thus they be disinclined. There are some good classic cubes in here too that could be submitted/emulated.

I have entered with my Tribal Cube (adjusted in size).
Peasant / pauper, tribal, and multicolored seem to be the most common themes that I hear people submitting. My original gut reaction was to do tribal or multicolored, then realized those would probably be two of the most common types of cubes submitted so it would be harder for me to standout. I like the idea of peasant, but I honestly don't know much about the card pool and didn't want to do the research when I know someone out there already knows way more about it than I do.
The only two people I know that have submitted a type of cube that I haven't heard anybody else plan to submit are Cythare and myself. I've heard of a lot of unique ideas like old rules / damage on the stack cube, but those are too unrealistic for MTGO to pull off.

The Power Up Cube focuses on cards getting stronger over the course of a game through various
means via several mechanics / keywords, the following are heavily featured in this cube:
The theme of this cube is very reminiscent of Theros limited which heavily focused on building up
your creatures in a format with limited removal. I designed this cube with very few "deals with anything"
instant removal cards and Wrath of God "sweeper" effects to help promote the use of auras and mechanics
like Level Up.
Some notes about each color
WHITE
- To help tone down the removal to encourage the "power up" theme, almost all of white's removal are Pacifism type effects: no Swords to Plowshare or Path to Exile here! The cube only has a few sweeper effects, and the only white sweeper is Austere Command.
BLUE
- A lot of focus on flying / evasion and building card advantage. Has the most prowess / instant and sorceries matters cards.
BLACK
- A lot of recursion and removal. To help the "power up" theme, most removal is either sorcery speed and can be telegraphed from the battlefield.
RED
- A strong focus on level up, transform, and cards that gain value over time.
GREEN
- Focuses on mana acceleration, creatures getting bigger over time, and a strong +1/+1 counter theme.
OTHER
- Have a bunch of equipment but none of the super OP stuff (Swords / Jitte / Clamp).
- Signets make the bulk of the mana acceleration
- Standard cube mana base, I don't think the judges will care that much since it's the easiest thing that can be changed.
This is the saddest contest ever. A really fun and exiting time for cubers all over turned into a popularity contest...
Of the four cubes only two is relevant imo.
Magicovore's twisted color pie cube (even though it ain't my cup of tea).
The Pauper cube.
I really thought steve_man's Power Up Cube would be chosen, and an artifact cube or something. The tribal cube is just terrible, and really hurts to look at as a tribal cube owner myself.
This is just one big joke of a contest, and it's obvious for everyone that they chose some contestants for their recognizable names. What a shame!

Agreed. After I voted (for the peasant list) and I saw the results of Klug being over 50% of the votes already, I gave up hope on this contest. Not to say anything negative about Klug or his PT cube. He's a great guy, does great alters, runs a sweet peasant list, and is a wonderful member of both the cube and Magic communities. However, a PT cube - as cool of an idea as it is - is not something that I see wanting to draft over and over again the same way one tends to run cube drafts on MTGO. It's a novelty that you maintain, but only break out once or twice a year for a draft or two. I have no doubt that Klug will win this contest and, while I'm happy for him because he's a good dude and good things should happen to good people, I don't think he deserves to win this contest on the back of the cube he submitted. He will win because people like him.

Yeah. Klug have at least done a lot of good for the cube community over the years, so I'm fine it's him getting the reward. But unfortunately he won't win based on his cube submission.
That's the exact cube idea I submitted too. I love the Pro Tour cube, and I'm happy to be able to vote for it. By far my favorite submission anyways ...all the better that it's backed by a good guy and a popular name.
Any chance this contest had of being decided on merit got thrown out the window as soon as a popular person in the Magic community had their cube chosen as one of the finalists, while the other three were from relative unknowns. I voted for the peasant cube, but Klug is winning this, and, intentionally or not, it was predetermined to be so.
I think the idea of a PT cube is interesting, but it's not something I'm excited to draft myself. Then again, I'm sure there are people who feel that same way about pauper, peasant, and even powered cubes.

Guiilame Matignon is pretty well known in the magic community, both for being a good player (he won worlds at one point) and for being one of the key people involved in the New Phyrexia leaks (for which he was suspended for.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillaume_Matignon

It just makes the matter worse. What are the chances those two would have been picked if all names were removed from applications. With those lists slim to none imo.
I think all the submissions are cool, and the pro tour cube in particular is fun to draft and has a lot of historical significance to it. Newer players can draft decks within the cube and then research the decks they came from, finding out more about the history of Magic, its players and the decks that made Magic history. It's an awesome idea, and it's a blast to play. It's the one I would vote on, regardless of what name was attached to it.
Kinda bummed I didn't get picked, I spent a lot of time and energy on that cube! Oh well, I'm proud of what I built and may actually proxy it one day.
As far as the submissions goes, there are some cool concepts, I voted for Pauper just because I think that has the most legs to stand on and would be the easiest to update in the future. As far as the actual contest goes, I knew it would end up as a popularity contest if some recognizable name was a finalist, and we have at least two of them.... I don't play MTGO, but I did want to be a finalist just for the prize, haha.
Also, all during Kaladesh spoiler season I was like "man, I really coulda used that for the Power Up Cube..."
I like Klug's alters, I strongly dislike the PT Cube.
Archetypal payoffs are too narrow, you likely won't be able to reach a critical mass to emulate any of the more synergy driven PT decks, and there is WIDE disparity in power level and playability of cards due to major shifts in design philosophy over the last decade plus. A single Aether Vial is damn near useless, Eldrazi Mimic is a below average bear without the consistency of turning into a Thoughtknot Seer or Reality Smasher, and there are far too many narrow enablers/payoffs (Dragonstorm? Donate/Illusions?). You definitely cannot expect to draft an old school style deck successfully without the density of support and while facing down pushed modern threats like Polukranos and Baneslayer.
I like the nostalgia of seeing certain cards and recalling those decks, but it's useless if I can't realistically draft that archetype. I'd need to get insanely lucky to have all of the narrow enablers in the 360 card pool, have them wheel to me, AND hope that none of them are generic enough to be wanted elsewhere. This is just not good design across a consistency and power spectrum.
