How do you guys keep track of your cubes, as far as when you make changes, what you take out, what you put in, etc? I use cubetutor.com, but it seems down at the moment. Did anything happen to it?
Ben (CubeTutor's owner) posted this on Twitter today, so it seems like the site has just been an unfortunate victim.
"Cube Tutor continues to be targeted by people who appear to be making a Concerted Effort to take it offline."
I predominantly use CubeTutor, but I also use CubeCobra.com and have been using it more and more lately with CT being offline more and more often. Beyond that I keep all of my lists in regular old spreadsheets.
I use cube tutor exclusively. It's a website that functions on my windows phone which is something that gets more rare over time.
The website is fine, I see zero need for its competitors. People say its outdated but that's because they just want a flashier, less functional website because it's 2019, not because there is anything actually wrong with cubetutor. Same reason why the electric can opener exists, not because it actually needs to, but just because people are idiots and like new things even if they're not improvements/actual downgrades.
It's been down for me as well these past few days. I've been able to occasionally get through and log some changes but it's been spotty. Been considering donating to it to become a "member" or whatever it's called.
I am very sad that Cube Tutor is suffering the traffic attacks. The owner is my personal Magic hero!
CubeCobra is ok, but I miss some features of Cube Tutor and dislike the layout. It's nice that people have options to choose from, but I hope these traffic attacks in Cube Tutor are not a result of any grudge.
I was looking for this thread so I didn't have to make it. While I've used CubeTutor for years, and will probably continue to keep it updated, I've been very impressed with CubeCobra's functionality, and don't just see it as a "flashier, 2019 edition" website. I've really enjoyed a few things that I've wanted from CubeTutor that never really surfaced:
Far superior ability to make changes on my mobile device (the only web-accessible device I'll bring with me to large events)
The ability to sort by artist (so I don't have to keep track of a separate spreadsheet for cube signature-related reasons)
More flexible sorting overall that's generally easier to do on mobile than clicking through a ton of filters (like sorting by set, so that I can make sure I pick up better copies of cards I want to pimp at large events without accidentally purchasing a second copy of something I already have)
There are definitely some things about CubeTutor that I miss, but CubeCobra is also actively adding features/fixing bugs and has a set release schedule of every other Friday, so there's some sense about when things will be fixed (at least bug-wise). Their Discord channel is also fairly prompt regarding acknowledgement of bugs/feature requests, so it's nice to know you're being heard (even if they haven't officially logged my request to have their price functionality match the exact foiling in the cube, which I requested as documentation for insurance purposes).

Ignoring what Magic players say isn't the answer, it's listening to what they have to say and doing the exact opposite that's correct.
