So I am finishing my all foil C/U Powered Cube, and want a small artifact theme in the cube. I have decided to go 60 across the cube (60 of each color, 60 multicolor), but am thinking about going 80/40 artifacts to lands.

Here is the artifacts:
10 Signets
5 Borderposts
5 Tailesmen
5 Obelisks
5 Mana Myrs
(30 color fixing)

Myr Package
Alloy, Retriever, Palladium, Perilous, Plague

Ramp Package
Mind Stone, Ingot, Sphere, Bobble, Amulet (sol ring cut for power reasons)

15 creatures

15 equipment

10 other (top, shines, etc)

10 Bounce lands
5 Vivids
5 Refuges
5 Urza Manlands
4 LD Lands
6 Other Lands

Many of the artifacts fill the roles of the better lands that are rare (signets, etc).

Is this just too many artifacts?

That looks like a lot of artifacts for a small cube. Also, it's not "Powered" if it's a C/U cube, just for clarification.

That is true, in terms of c/u cubes it is running stuff like mana drain, sylvan library, sink hole, etc.

So with this many artifacts, should I be looking to cut down, or go to a higher card count overall? The cube is currently 480 cards.

What end does having so much artifact mana achieve?

I would probably want to see a list of all the inclusions, and let the C/U cube experts critique them. It seems like a lot for a list that size; not necessarily because of the overall quantity, but because of the quality of decent C/U artifacts is relatively low compared to the colored sections.

I think I am going to cut most of the fixing, and just run more green ramp. I really want the four eldrazi to be playable, so the reason for color fixing.

Final verdict - 50 artifacts (including eldrazi).

Well I just reviewed my list. Final numbers are

70 of each color, 60 hybrid, 40 artifacts, and 50 lands = 500 total cards. Right now I have between 8 - 12 spots per color to fill. I know in red I need more aggressive creatures / burn, and overall a few more "wrath effects." I will balance the cube a bit more tomorrow.

60 hybrid cards in C/U? I assume that includes gold cards as well? Even so, that's a really high number for a 500 card cube... I'd probably run 40 gold/hybrid cards as a max in a cube this size.
