He's just a great creature to add in any UG decks. Yeah, he's good in tempo, but it's not his only home. Just dork him up onto the battlefield and you'll be able to find a lot of value from him if you're on the play. If you draft Bant, he will shine a lot. The soltaris love him. Also, you get the chance to add additionnal 1-drop and efficient removals as well. But yeah, if you don't run any green agressive stuff, I suppose he could seems a bit MEH. Don't get fool though, it's still a very powerful piece of card.
Edric is great. Repeatable card draw is pretty awesome and I like that this card encourages you to be aggressive during combat.
He is probably the best Simic card, but I don't think you would crush the tempo archetype (or any other) if you chose not to run it. If you haven't tried it though, I certainly recommend you check him out. It goes in more than just tempo too, so ends up in a lot of deck lists (over here anyway).
Even w/o the green aggressive package, the heavy green decks can run into situations where their fat has been trimmed and all they have is dorks and excess mana. Edric is a great splash for those decks in order to re-fill your hand and the board with a gaggle of girth.
Edric, Spymaster of Trest was discussed here in the Random Cube Card of the Day thread. Are you in-TREST-ed in knowing what other players think of this card?
Thoughts on Edric in 2022? I’ve always liked him but am under the impression current Cubers think this is a fringe card. I saw some MODO Cube streams where the streamer thought Edric was a “Spicy” addition to the Cube. In my opinion this card is still quite good in Simic Opposition-style shells, and there are now 2 squirrel army producers instead of one.

I pretty much agree with everything said here: it's fringe in that it only goes in a specific type of deck (UGx that goes wide with creatures) and is more of a spice card really. I see it as a strong payoff to something I don't have to go out of my way to support, so it's not like the theme is hogging up a bunch of cube real estate since I'm naturally running stuff that goes wide.
