Yep, I've been woefully off topic sorry about that a little too excited and not bothering to post elsewhere.
On topic in a speculative way, I guess this means that if Grislebrand gets a card it won't be cube worthy either as it will probably be huge to mirror Avacyn.
The category was things that the indestructible is good against. Pacifism effects aren't in that list. In fact, it's pretty useless against Pacifism effects.
No, she's pretty decent against Pacifism because she still gives you value. That's like saying Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Rampaging Baloths is bad against Pacifism too. Those examples give you better board presence, but you get the point. It's not awesome against Pacifism, but it diffuses the impact of one-shot removal somewhat.

But don't you want that Izzet walker? My group, including myself, really enjoy UR (though weaker than UW and UB).
meh, I could certainly use a break from walkers. There is always some super expensive walker that is must have for cube in most sets. As I said I'm already behind on getting Liliana 2.0, Sorin 2.0 and now that I think about it, Garruk 3.0 too.

The card may be okay against Pacifism effects because you still get some value, but that has nothing to do with her being indestructible. The comment I made was how being indestructible doesn't have anything to do with Pacifism effects. And paying 8 mana for an Elspeth emblem is pretty awful. I'd say it's still bad against Pacifism, and I'd move the Pacifism Effects to the list of things that are still good against this 8-drop.
Ya, my comments in this forum are always specific to cube play. If my posts are in reference to performance in other formats, I'll always cite which format I'm talking about. In EDH, this card will be pretty good. Even as a reanimator target in some other formats it can be fine. But in the cube, it doesn't interest me.
Actually even in EDH this card isn't very good outside of casual play. It will see play in Kaliaa, Mayael and maybe reanimator (though probably not). Other than that it's pretty mediocre. Indestructible just isn't that impressive, for example I've seen Elspeth go ultimate 3 times so far in EDH and every time that person lost (twice was me). In cube she's just plain bad.
I will probably give Avacyn a shot in my edh cube, replacing deathless angel. I'm not super impressed by the card, but she'd be a great pick for any player that drafts kaalia of the vast or Mayael the Anima as their general.
I think she'll be fine for big white decks as a deck include, but bad as a general in EDH. And ya, not for cube.
It's not uber-competitive (as in lock the game down on turn 5), but a friend of mine has a Konda deck run as voltron and is looking to upgrade him to Avacyn. Indestructible generals are pretty great, and the ability really lowers the number of cards that interact with them at all to a low number.
Yeah she's a billion times better than Konda. She's probably a pretty strong commander in a casual setting since those decks are less equipped to deal with indestructibles.
I find it a little humorous that the regulars in the cube forum will argue for pages on how to make the cube as broken and powerful as possible but when it comes to EDH the decks are more laid back than I would expect. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, EDH is all about finding like minded people so the games are balanced but I thought it was an interesting observation. Myself I gravitate towards the more competitive end but my decks aren't kill you on turn 4 decks (well except Edric but that was an accident).

I have a range of powerful-to-mediocre EDH decks. I know which ones to bust out against different groups of people in my playgroup. Having so many decks makes it a nice variety as well.
Konda get a face surgery. Somehow he's a lot more attractive now and looked younger too. Amazing how plastic surgery work these days.
On topic, she's not cubable. But I'll try to grab a copy of her anyways. It's feel little sad that's she's not cubable, since she's pretty much representative of this set. But we have the Lord of Innistrad anyways, so that's not too bad.
One of the things I feared after Avacyn's spoil was that AVR would be a slow set with big dudes, making not much room for aggressive cards. Brain Tinsman, lead designer of AVR, confirmed my fears in the following article. I guess it isn't all sad times because even though this was the case for ROE, still some really good aggressive creatures were printed such as Student of Warefare.

It doesn't, but it may hint that AVR will have a similar design mindset, considering it's being led by the same person.
