If you knew that 5CC was off the radar, and it just wasn't something people ever drafted, and rarely would be if at all, would you use vivids?
In my experience, the vivid lands almost will almost always support three color control decks. Most of the time these decks are relatively mindlessly assembled and uninteresting. I would want them to be available archetypes, but I wouldn't want them to be strong -- which means less fixing.
The vivids are all all approximately equivalent anyway, so I wouldn't want to waste 5 slots on the same card. With fetches, you at least have to do some planning around duals. There are better lands to run.
Sometimes you just need fixing lands. Coliseum might not be ideal for aggro, but that doesn't mean it can't make the final 40 from time to time.
And 2 counters is enough some of the time. Like, when you're playing a 2-color deck. But when you're playing a deck that's solidly in 3+ colors, the Vivid land needs to match one of the colors you're playing, or you'll run out of fixing. Coliseum always fixes my mana, no matter what colors I'm playing, and no matter how many times I need to use it.
And if you're using less than all 5 Vivids, some colors are getting more fixing support than others, which I don't like. Unless you mean to sort them in with their corresponding colors, which A) I don't like to do for fixing lands and B) a Vivid land isn't good enough to push out a card from one of my sections anyways.
