For a creature-centric color pair, doesn't it strike you as odd that the list above only contrains 1 creature? I don't disagree with your ranking, but I am disappointed by the lack of quality RW creatures.

Hah, I never thought of it that way.
I guess it's because white and red have the best 1 and 2 drop selection (at least in terms of beating face). What Boros needs is a few creative spells to help push the damage through.

I don't really care much about that. I have plenty of creatures between white and red; it's nice to have a large suite of great spells to play.

I prefer Duergar Hedge-Mage over Aurelia's Fury, but I haven't tested Fury. The Hedge-Mage is simply awesome and doesn't get enough love. He goes in many more Boros decks than Fury. I don't think Fury should ever be played in an aggro deck. You can play the Hedge-Mage in any type of deck, and he shines in aggro. Granted, you can't splash red for Hedge-Mage, and I imagine control/midrange decks will splash for Fury often.
Agreed. If you can find a rugged prairie, i would replace the battlefield forge for it. even tho there are less now, there are cards that require WW and RR.

I wouldn't make that swap. I'm more worried about having access to both colours on T1 and Battlefield Forge gives me more of a chance of doing that. Until we get the Mirrodin version I think the painland is the nuts.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the filter lands, except maybe in Orzhov and Golgari, and even then, I run the painland for those.
Personally I think the best color pairs for filters are BW, RW, and RB. Those are the color pairs that really can use the CC fixing early in the game (pre-turn 4).
I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
I guess you consider the Stronghold to be good in a cube? I have Lightning Helix and Soltari Guerrillas. I also have Firemane Angel in my cube and plan on replacing him. I like Ajani Vengeant but I don't want to put any multicolored plainswalkers in my cube. I like having only monocolored plainswalkers. I thought Boros Reckoner could be good in the cube. I don't think I would need Boros Charm because I already have Lightning Helix.

Boros Charm is a whole different--and better--beast than Lightning Helix. I'd replace Firemane with Boros Charm and probably replace Guerillas with Reckoner, if I were you.

Yes, I consider Stronghold to be good in the cube. It's a great cube card.
Ajani is one of the best walkers in the cube. Too bad you don't want to play him just because he's gold.
Boros Reckoner might be good in the cube, and if it is, it'll replace Fury in the #6 slot.
Charm and Helix are totally different. Charm is pretty busted. Helix is usually a hard to cast Searing Spear.
I'm trying to fix up the gold sections of my cube. I was trying to fix up simic, orzhov and boros. For Boros I currently run Lighthning Helix, Soltari Guerrillas and Slayers' Stronghold. I like Soltari Guerrillas but the problem is it's only a 3/2 for 4 mana that could easily die. I feel like Guerrillas has a bigger impact on the game than Firemane Angel. Is there a reason why Boros Charm is so much better than Lightning Helix? I guess Boros Charm is really good it will replace Lightning Helix in most cubes? I'm thinking of replacing Soltari Guerillas with either Boros Reckoner or Firemane Avenger. I know the Reckoner would be better. Is there a reason why Firemane Avenger could be good? I currently don't have Lightning Mauler in my cube which would be good with the Avenger.

This isn't to say that they're bad, but merely that they aren't necessarily the most powerful/efficient things you can be doing, and don't really have a large role to fill in any particular deck. With so few slots in your multicolor section, I would be playing the most powerful cards available. Firstly, Ajani Vengeant, since he's one of the most powerful Boros cards and a top-3 planeswalker in cube. And then, some combination of Slayer's Stronghold, Figure of Destiny, Lightning Helix, and Boros Charm, since they fit into a variety of aggressive red-white decks.
I myself might be testing either Firemane Avenger or Boros Reckoner in addition to adding the Charm, but I'm already playing Ajani, Figure, Helix, Stronghold, Signet, and Gisela and have a much larger multicolor section.
Is it just us... or is Boros the worst archetype in cube?
We are currently reworking our no p9 400 card but otherwise vintage cube...
What do people draft in Boros or put into their cube that makes Boros succeed?
Have you guys in the last year seen a Boros cube deck go undefeated and if so what made it work?
We've been considering supporting a synergy like tokens/humans/etc...
@wtwlf which of the cubes you have linked in your sig has Boros proven to be a top 5 finisher in?
A few years ago Boros, and to a similar extent cube Zoo (which was generally mostly boros) was the scariest deck to face off against. More and more we've been finding that the decks that run for speed with minimal disruption don't do too well. Our white section has alot of hate bears but in looking at results from our playgroup the little white men tend to succeed more when paired with Black discard or Blue tempo *where as* the little red men decks have the best records with Blue delver style decks or black Confidant//Arena fueled assualts. As more and more cards like Thragtusk and Wurmcoil are printed that just shut down aggro... as more and more cheap walkers that are easy to protect come out... R/W just doesn't seem to have the offensive resources to be consistent. Even geddon/ravages does not shine like it used to and is way more beatable than a few years ago.
This is likely also just our playgroup (and MoDo cubes as well) where I've been noticing this. The funny thing is that White Aggro and Red Aggro really are the two best core aggro colors we've just noticed that pairing them together has not been successful as of recent and were hoping on some insights on what we might be able to do to push it more in our playgroup.
@wtwlf you say Boros has been requested to be nerfed. What cards does your group say are too strong and have to go?
I find that white weenie or rdw splashing the other color for the boros cards (or o-ring effects for red and burn reach for white) works beautifully and is always a good 3-0 plan in our cube drafts.
Boros is fantastic around here and one of my favorite guilds to play.
It's an aggressive deck with lots of low cc dudes, some burn, maybe a planeswalker or Hellrider or Hero of Oxid Ridge/Bladehold as a finisher. You come out swinging and you don't stop until your opponent is at 0. This can often be on turn 4-5 with this deck. Slower draws can be punished, but valuing the aggressive 1-2 drops and cheap burn during the draft really pays off and helps to prevent that.
It's a midrandge deck with a few more resilient low cc dudes and burn, maybe a Stoneforge package with a Sword and a Batterskull, Swords/Path, FTK, Baneslayer. This deck lives on value. It likes the life gain cards and the 2-for-1 options. It wants to keep the opponent from gaining too much ground then land something fat and nasty to close out the game. During the draft you're looking for the white removal spells, big value finishers like Batterskull, Baneslayer and the Titans. You also want the red value spells like Arc Lightning/Arc Trail, Flametongue Kavu, and Siege-Gang Commander.
It's also a control deck with Wildfire/Burning of Xinye alongside Balance and Wrath of God variants and the Earthquakes. These decks play artifact mana, early burn/removal, value ETB guys, the colorless man lands and X/5 finishers.

True. Red and White have some of the most aggressively costed creatures, and I don't mind my Boros section being packed with excellent support spells
This and the two posts above, all good points.

I wouldn't make that change because having colored mana is so important to Boros aggro decks.
Agreed. Aggro decks need their fixing and they need it early.

I run that same setup except I stop at 7 per guild. Forge doesn't make the cut for me as I do 3 lands (dual/fetch/shock) and 4 actual cards.

Creatures like Soltari Guerillas, Firemane Avenger, Boros Reckoner all feel like they're on about the same relative power level as stuff like Spitemare, Guardian Seraph, Emeria Angel, Odric, Master Technician, and Krenko, Mob Boss.
This isn't to say that they're bad, but merely that they aren't necessarily the most powerful/efficient things you can be doing, and don't really have a large role to fill in any particular deck. If you really want a creature, I would consider either Gisela, Blade of Goldnight or Aurelia, the Warleader as a powerful top-end finisher instead of midrangey cards that have better competition in the mono-colored sections (Hero of Bladehold, Hero of Oxid Ridge, Koth of the Hammer, Elspeth, Knight-Errant).
I myself might be testing either Firemane Avenger or Boros Reckoner in addition to adding the Charm, but I'm already playing Ajani, Figure, Helix, Stronghold, Signet, and Gisela and have a much larger multicolor section.

Boros is absurd in cube. Easily one of the 5 most consistent top finishers.
Aggro cards. And the Wildfire package. Boros contributes to pretty much every major theater, and is successful in all of them.
I've seen people asking for help nerfing Boros aggro, but never, ever a suggestion that it's the worst deck in the cube.
