Jeskai control is also a thing. There's something special about being able to play Ajani Vengeant, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, a couple Elspeths and a bunch of wraths, burn and counters in the same deck.
I think a more fruitful conversation for OP would be to sit down and come up with some actual weaknesses of Boros in their cube. i.e. not just "is it too weak?" but:
"is it too slow?"
"is there enough manafixing?"
"is the curve good enough?"
And so on. Providing a list of the actual cards used would help a lot as well
@wtwlf which of the cubes you have linked in your sig has Boros proven to be a top 5 finisher in?
All of them, since they're all the same cube. Boros is a powerhouse in my cube. It just won my last cube event, actually.
@wtwlf you say Boros has been requested to be nerfed. What cards does your group say are too strong and have to go?
Nobody in my group, but other groups complain about the powerlevel of Armageddon, Ravages of War and Sulfuric Vortex pretty regularly. I've seen players frustrated with Elspeth, Ajani V and Hero of Bladehold too. All of those cards are Boros all stars.
I'd also say Boros is one of the best color combinations in my cube. Without your list it's hard to speculate why you might not be getting the performances you want. Maybe too much double colored cards? Or too many aggro hosers in other colors? You said Vintage but not P9, does that include Channel, Eureka, Mana Drain, etc? Too many cheat out fatties and fast mana may mean you accelerate out into late game too soon.
To champion a pet card I've seen only mentioned once in this thread, I love Rally the Peasants and I think folks with larger cubes that feel like some of the choices they run are meh should try it. We routinely see it cause 4-8 damage to players and get blockers people thought they were keeping around. It's WCS is obviously bad but its flexibility in being able to be run in Wx deck, not just Boros is just icing on the cake.
Boros has some decent disruption cards, but they don't always get played. For example, Orim's Thunder disrupts AND clears blockers. Aurelia's Fury looks better than it actually plays, but it can disrupt combo's critical turn and also clears blockers temporarily. White has the best general removal with 3 CMC sorcery-speed effects that can nail any non-land permanent. Boros also has the best critter-specific removal in Swords, Path, and Bolt. It doesn't have Thoughtseize effects, but these colors sport some of the best (if not the best) land destruction with both 3 cmc removal and Armageddon effects (Geddon, Ravages, Boom//Bust, and Catastrophe).
Cheers,
