I remember when R&D considered the invasion CIPT lands were potentially too strong to print. I need to find the article in which they discussed them. It's funny to me how many cycles that they have made since that are strictly better than them: M10 Duals, Rav Shocks, Refuges.
I feel like a multicolour block needs a lot of colour fixing at common, and people should expect to see at least one dual land in each pack. I'm a huge fan of the Karoos, signets and Evolving Wilds/Terramorphic Expanse but not a big fan of the borderposts or panoramas, personally.
I'd like more evolving wilds stuff too. Maybe fetch lands at common or uncommon that grab only 1 basic land. That'd be a huge addition to the cube imo. I really enjoy the basic level fetches.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.

This would be insane, I'd love fetches for one basic land type alone. Who knows, it's possible and a lot fairer for standard in a format with shocks (if they come back).

They could potentially tap for colorless on their own as well then, just to delay the need for cracking until really necessary, like the Panoramas.

While interesting, I really doubt this would happen because it will have zero impact in limited.
This just got spoiled in the Rumor Mill. It still could be a fake, but I thought I'd bring it to the attention of the cubists:
Deadbridge Goliath 2GG
Scavenge 4GG (exile this card from your graveyard to put x plus 1 plus 1 counters on target freature where x is this creatures power. Use this ability only as a sorcery)
5/5
I like it but I'm not sure it's strong enough for most cubes. A 5/5 for 4 mana is a good start and then it retains some value after it dies. I like that in aggro, you can use excess mana to turn one of your small guys into a deadly threat. It looks on the cusp of cubeworthiness to me.

I think this guy would be pretty sweet in ramp decks. Comes down as a 5/5 on T3. For 6 mana turns your birds into a dragon, or any trampler into a monster.
It definitely warrants testing, it might be better than yeva or chameleon colossus. But 4 drops in green are pretty stacked. Wish it was 5 to activate.

Confirmed real by Melissa de Tora (or her boyfriend, whoever posted it online.) Definitely seems good, but to echo other posters, 4 mana is really getting stacked (in green and in general) nowadays. Poor Jade Leech must feel so bad! (because he is, nowadays.) Gonna test it for sure.
My favorite part about magic is that they keep coming out with interesting mechanics that seem so obvious when you see them, which is how I feel about this card. Also, it seems pretty lacklaster when on the battlefield, but its grave ability is cool. A 5/5 with no other abilities modifiers for 4 isn't all that great to me though outside the grave.
A 5/5 for 4 mana is very far above and you can equip him unlike Calciderm/Blastoderm. Not to mention he makes any creature a fatty from the grave. He's replacing Vorapede for myself.
Vorapede is better, but takes up a different slot, in any case. I wouldn't cut the Insect for him, he just does so much harm and survives so much.
I think he's better than Obstinate Baloth, Yeva, Blastoderm and Chameleon Colossus; anyone running one of those could cut it for this guy. He's a little bit above the curve in shear P/T terms, and very good if you can Scavenge him lategame for random massive pump.
Scavenge has a lot more potential than Populate as a cube mechanic.

This. I actually logged in for the first time in what feels like forever to say this and Goodking beat me to it. I think Chameleon Colossus especially is a good cut for the Scavenge guy.
Man, I really wish this was a black creature. I know green gets the big stuff and black is supposed to get the shaft, but dear lord am I going to feel miserable when I play Juzam Djinn and my opponent drops this baby in answer. Although I suppose that would already be the case if it was Chameleon Colossus instead, which has been around for ages by now.
Scavenge is an incredibly promising mechanic, especially if they decide to push it and not leave this dude as a one-off in card quality. I'm seeing bears and hill giants with that ability as a way to negate the traditional drawback of small creatures diminishing in value as the game goes on.

I'm not playing any of those 4 drops, and I currently run 4 XGGG cards (Vorapede, Garruk 2, Hornet Queen, Woodfall Primus). I prefer to keep my cube streamlined to my playgroup's liking, and Vorapede is too all-in green for my group.
He's better than a host of 4 drops, particularly Yeva and Blastoderm. I'd also probably play this guy over Phantom Centaur. I like Chameleon Colossus more, but this guy could be better.
Yeah, I see this guy being pretty great. Its scavenge ability seems really relevant as putting 5 counters on an evasive dude is pretty gamechanging, and that's on top of an already efficient body.
Darn, and I never got a chance to draft Yeva.Either she or Blastoderm are out the door for this guy. I like the flash on her, but man is a 5/5 for 4 who is relevant even if dead good. As mentioned, being able to put counters on to an evasive creature long after he has died is awesome. Plus, I push reanimator rather heavily in my cube so a lot of things end up in the graveyard. I really hope this mechanic is as awesome as it appears.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
great card, cool keyword. it's sort of like living weapon, only you get just one equip out of it.
Hey, I didn't think of that. Wizards do that a lot though - think of how many variants there are of kicker. This does have the upside of having better templating though, I've had a few new players ask me why their germ token doesn't die immediately.
That card seems really strong. The scavenge ability on this guy can turn an elf into a 6/6. Even lowly BoP can suddenly beat up dragons. I'm very impressed.
