I love the color pair, but I feel like the actual Simic cards are underwhelming. I run 3 for each guild in my 360 unpowered.
Nissa, Steward of Elements is great. I love her. I think she's easily the best card in the guild and I really love that she can close a game out of nowhere.
Edric, Spymaster of Trest seems great. Everyone says he's great. But I never see him put in much work. I do promote Elf synergy so I'm glad to keep him around, but he doesn't excite me.
Rashmi, Eternities Crafter is the 3rd card I run. I like it because it's a natural card advantage engine and being an Elf never hurts.
I'd like to try some other things in the color, like Hadana's Climb or Simic Sky Swallower. Hadana's would make for some fun moments and it needs to be answered. Sky Swallower is a nice Natural Order target and a good finisher in a control deck.
There's old classics, like Trygon Predator and Mystic Snake (which I've always thought is overrated since you need to hold up 4 mana), Coiling Oracle, and my personal favorite Simic card, Shardless Agent which I don't think is good enough. I'm a bit excited about the new kid on the block, Tatyova, Benthic Druid.
- Edric, Spymaster of Trest (best in decks that have a light splash of blue)
- Nissa, Steward of Elements
- Trygon Predator
- Mystic Snake
- Shardless Agent
- Kiora, Master of the Depths
I think Edric / Nissa are the top 2 and Trygon / Snake / Shardless / Kiora are pretty interchangeable based on the wants / needs of your cube.
Some other options That I have found great: master biomancer is great if you run tokens or creature heavy simic decks. also supports your elf theme. much better than hadana's climb.
prophet of kruphix can be an absolute beast in creature decks and has been great for me as well. its banned in edh for a reason lol
ezuri, claw of progress similar to master biomancer slower to get going but allows you to pile counters all on one creature. I prefer biomancer to ezuri but it depends what you are looking for. also experience counters meh.

Edric has also been very underwhelming here, with no support for green aggro and little support for blue tempo. We are going to replace him with Rogue Refiner, as the average cards drawn with Edric per game was closer to 0 than 1. Mystic Snake is also a bad card in my experience.
Shardless is a better card in powered, but probably still near the top of the cards for the guild. Predator is probably unexciting in unpowered.
Agreed with Nissa being the best card in the guild.

I can get on board with this ranking too. Seems about right. Edric is a complete monster, and Nissa is really good. Other than that, the rest are interchangeable, but I think they're the best of the options.
Edit: Those 4 and Coiling Oracle too. Unexciting but solid. Can't decide which of those 4 should earn a permanent #3 slot for me...

Edric doesn't need need green aggro at all, just go wide strategies.
Or forcing the opponent to keep blockers back against mana dorks. Being able to randomly drop him and crash in with 2 Llanowar Elves is a very common play, and a really strong one.
I would say most green decks that can cast Edric are happy with him. The other day a ramp deck drew three against me two turns in a row off Edric with the help of some removal and then just ran away with the game after burying me with card advantage. A big part of the appeal is that if you're attacking with those elves you'll still have the mana to cast all the extra spells the next turn.
Blue has a lot of evasive guys that pair well with Edric. There's Looter il-Kor, Clique, TNN, Mulldrifter, etc. Edric gives all of those already great cards an extra kick. And as other posters have said, just drawing a card off an attacking elf is awesome. I'm a huge fan of Edric.
Edric doesn't need need green aggro at all, just go wide strategies.
I'd guess he would enjoy many more homes with them.
Edric is not a good card for ramp decks or cheat decks, those are the things green does in my cube. In a few years of experience you needed to be lucky just to replace him, and even it usually involved a subpar attack (losing one attacker so that the other could connect).
I like them in that order, but I never tested Aether Chaser. I think it might be better than Marauders. At 450, I only run the Abbot and Geopede out of those.

If my green ramp decks include a lot of mana dorks + something like Hornet Queen / Deranged Hermit (or another token generator from another color), Edric will be a shoe-in for me. Whenever I think of something as a lightning rod, Edric is always the first creature that comes to mind because it needs to die immediately.
Thank you for the Simic replies everyone. I think I'll take out Rashmi and re-add Shardless Agent.
I like Keldon Marauders the best among this group because it's good at what it does. The rest of the cards are kind of meh, but I do have a bias towards Abbot.
I don't think this is true. It's not good for Oath decks, but for decks ramping with mana creatures and utility guys, he's great. He turns them all into Magpies, and usually his impact on the turn he resolves is worth 2+ cards alone. Not to mention any permanent advantage he generates if he sticks around/is paired with evasive creatures.

In my experience you get into the following situations:
1) They have blockers
2) You need blockers
3) They have removal for your unblocked attackers
4) Drawing Edric without the elves, or after a mass removal
5) You can attack with a few elves, some will die and one will connect
That is assuming you even have enough elves and not land/artifact based ramp. Edric got into less and less maindecks with time.
Wall of Roots>=Sakura-Tribe Elder>>Sylvan Caryatid, though I think they're all great. Wall being huge and activating the turn-of is awesome and generally better than waiting on Sakura, though tribe elder has a number of little synergies and it can attack so it has all the benefits that carries. Caryatid is def a good card, it's just worse than those two.
And I agree that Rofellos/Cobra are better than those.
I like Sakura the best. I like all the extra possibilities he provides. After that I like Caryatid. Being hexproof and able to tap for any color is great and I value it higher than Wall of Roots.
I will say all 3 of these are pretty close together and I don't think you can make a wrong choice by cutting one over the rest.
Note on this one: Cube is 450 unpowered and doesn't run any superfatties (9 mana+ creatures) except Emrakul, the Promised End although I do run several 7 and 8 drops.
I'm actually planning to make this exact swap with my Dominaria update due to Abbey basically never flipping. I think the 5 mana activation is a bit overpriced to only get one creature out of the deal. Ormendahl is obviously a huge payoff, but I've found it to be extremely difficult to summon him. I don't know that Zhalfirin Void is actually good in cube, but Westvale Abbey has basically just been Void without the scry, so I'm fine with that swap to test.

Void. Void's already been doing better in 3-0 representation and overall than Abbey did in the months that I ran it.
Glotus is likely better but honestly could go either way. Golem does tend to look silly vs spot removal but is great vs non-spell removal (187 creatures/PWs, etc.)

Edric just runs away with games if left unchecked. The rest kinda blend together.
