I run Militant in my white section at 360. Currently testing Voice at the request of my group but it has not hit the table yet. Currently playing it over Armada Wurm, though we are talking about going to 450, and then would just play both.
Militant plays strangely in my cube. It's usually a white card (W/B or W/R), occasionally a green card (R/G, sometimes B/G) but very rarely a G/W card (more in Naya aggro than straight G/W). Pure G/W aggro doesn't seem to happen much - neither colour seems to add much to the other.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less." -Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
Pridemage is the best option, though. I wouldn't cut him from a 360.
I actually rank Kitchen Finks and Dryad Millitant higher than Pridemage. I'm currently testing Voice in place of Pridemage, if it turns out I'm not needing more disenchant effects, that change could be permanent.

The best disenchant/naturalize option. See the post I quoted above. With two staple true hybrid options, I'd rather cut a green and white card for finks and militant to keep pridemage.

That doesn't mean it's the best option for Selesnya. For example, if I could downgrade a 3-drop from my deck and replace it with a Nantuko Vigilante, it would be worth it to upgrade the Pridemage to a Voice of Resurgence. Voice is really good at shoring up weaknesses against my deck's worst matchup. I think that's more valuable than adding another tool to deal with artifacts and enchantments, when WG is the combination in the cube that deals with those the best already. Voice has been really good in testing.

I don't think finks or militant should keep voice out.
Okay. I think they certainly can (and should) but that's a completely different argument. Keeping gold cards on the bench to play more flexible spells seems like a win to me. Remember that guild section ≠ gold section.
I don't think Pridemage should keep Voice out. Voice provides unique disruption and cheap guaranteed value to a combination that needs it, and Pridemage is a disenchant/naturalize variant in a combination with lots of those effects available. I play both at 450, but at 360 I could see letting Pridemage go.
I would rather run all four and cut from monocolor. It's possible to do without sacrificing balance because we have two true hybrids. I think all four cards are better for the cube than the worst cards in green and white.

If that's how you want to sort them, that's cool. I prefer a guild section to a separate hybrid section. Ultimately, cutting monocolored cards to squeeze in extra gold cards isn't what I want to do.

Well you could also look at it as cutting monocoloured cards to squeeze in more hybrids, which sounds a lot better:cool:
But that's not really what happens. I play the same number of hybrids that I would anyways, except I have less monocolored cards and more gold cards after the changes. Seems like a bad deal. Not to mention that there aren't enough good hybrid cards to fill a hybrid section anyways, and a lot of them play like gold cards, so even though I have more hybrid cards in the cube, all I'm really doing is adding in more gold cards. Nothing about the system sounds appealing at all. I'd rather have a few good gold cards in my on deck binder than A) cutting monocolored cards to keep them in or B) forcing bad hybrid cards into the cube.
Reading thru these last couple of posts made me realize that Voice of Resurgence may be too good to not at least test out. (and also that I just opened one from my box)
I'm not fond of any of the options proposed so far tho. I don't want to cut a mono colored card for it and I definitely don't want to cut Pridemage as I consider that the best GW card ever. I'm not fond of the idea of cutting either Finks or Militant either. What am I left to do then? I think I'm gonna try something even more drastic and cut Wild Nacatl from my gold section to test out the Voice, at least temporarily.
I do love the fact that this card is sooooo good that it's causing all cube owners to even reconsider the fundamental structures of their cubes.
Below is my current Gold section for reference...
Ditto. The card is strong, but I kinda know what GW can do + what I'd like it to do. He's just another strong bear I may/may not run. I don't like the price-tag...only reason I haven't pickup him up yet.

Bump Dryad Militant to white? Finks can be a mono as well

So cutting a bad card for a better card seems like an upgrade to me.
It depends. I don't want to cut a white card for it either. Cutting a mono-colored card to free up an additional guild slot that will be used for more gold cards is not what I want to be doing for my cube either. I totally understand where SpEkKiO99 is coming from.
only real guild cards in your guild section avoiding a bias towards playable cards for one color or the other.
I think you're confusing a guild section with a gold section. Guild sections incorporate all cards that are intrinsically best in that respective color combination. The same way our mono-colored sections include cards that don't truly compete against each other, guild sections function similarly. It's not simply a section for gold cards. That's what we had before the guild system started being used.
Would you play Fulminator Mage in Rakdos? No
Would you play it in black or red? Of course and it is one of the best three drops in the strategies of both colors.
No, I would not play that card in black or red. Otherwise, Fulminator Mage would be in the cube.
More to the point, I cut Fulminator Mage because it wasn't very good. Not because there were better cards in BR.

Yeah you might be right that I got confused but still ... treating hybrid cards as hybrid cards and not gold or guild opens up some slots and cube design.
It depends on how you try and implement it. For my cube, it would achieve the opposite effect of the reason why I run a guild system in the first place. Moving hybrid cards to a hybrid section or to mono-colored sections at the cost of cutting an even amount of mono-colored cards opens up free gold slots. I don't want that. I want to be able to cut gold cards for good hybrid cards. That's what I can do now.

-and I dont want to shift the discussion to the hybrid classification-
You wouldnt play that card in your red or black decks.
Not over the other three drops that are in those colors already.

But back on topic: IMO Pridemage is better than Voice: I really like disenchants with a body as they are not dead when your opponent has no target in play.
It can be better sometimes, ya. But I don't think the effect is as needed as the one that Voice brings to WG midrange decks. Because Selesnya is the color combination that has the easiest time dealing with artifacts/enchantments as it is. Especially at 360, where this decision might actually have to be made. In all bigger cubes, we just get to run both.
A -at least for me- simple question:
Would you play Fulminator Mage in Rakdos? No
Would you play it in black or red? Of course and it is one of the best three drops in the strategies of both colors.
I'll have to say no, because otherwise I'll already be running it. I don't think it's better than any of the mono color 3 drop.
About moving hybrid cards to mono section so you can run more gold, I'm not a fan. Why? They're better than gold and can be play in more decks. For cards like Full Mage, it's not strong enough. But for cards like Dyrad, it's more than enough. I might move her in the future, but not now.

I'm pushing dryad to [white] for another GW thing. VoR might be that card.
I've already given [black] classification for rakdos cacker and shred-freak. That freed up slots for solid pure-RB cards.
And as an update my go-to store just raised VoR to $38. FML. I wasn't able to head down this weekend and pick one up at $27. The almighty SCG has it for $40. Sounds like I need a new batch of Proxies lol.
