I wouldn't call it an archetype, exactly, but it's a great way to support aggro and give it tools to beat control. There is also Gaddock Teeg, Ash Zealot, and M14's Imposing Sovereign. I run 7 of the ones you mention.
Some are good enough and others aren't. It depends on what they hate and how important hating out that effect is. It's also important that the cards are decent when the hate isn't relevant. So they need to be evaluated individually, and not a blanket "yes or no" to all hatebears.
Well then lets talk about some of the more odd choices that would be found in a cube if they pushed hatebears. Grand Abolisher shuts down flash, instants and Glen Elendra and Ethersworn Canonist makes playing control less enjoyable
I've got to be a bit of a naysayer too about this being a discreet archetype in cube. While most limited archetypes (even gimmicky ones) can be translated into a constructed build (limited control -> constructed control or limited tribal -> constructed tribal), the reverse isn't always true (constructed hatebears -> limited). Some constructed archetypes are just too reliant on redundancy or foreknowledge of the meta to function properly.
This weekend some of my players said that they'd like to see more hate bears in my cube, specifically to help aggro decks vs. control. I know this is already supposed to be a favorable matchup for aggro, but I aim to please, and I don't see any harm in cutting some unpopular cards to try this out for a bit. I'm actually more worried about RecSur decks being dominant, so I'm interested in finding more main-deckable hate for this strategy as well. Also, I agree that hate bears probably shouldn't be categorized as an "archetype", but this is the only thread I could find on the subject. Adding to this thread makes more sense than creating a new one.
Hey I didn't see a thread for this already but what do people think about supporting hatebears in cube? I already run Dryad Militant, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Deathrite Shamman, Scavenging Ooze, Thalia, Guardian of Tharben, Aven Mindcensor, and Lodestone Golem. Adding Grand Abolisher, Leonin Arbiter, Ethersworn Canonist and Linvala, Keeper of Silence + a couple of others a viable hatebear deck could be easily drafted in cube

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
"Personally I love high-riak, low-reqars gambles. Life's best with a decent amount of riak. And f*** reqars."
Hate bears I'm running now:
Mother of Runes (anti-removal)
Mardu Woe-Reaper (grave hate)
Imposing Sovereign (slows down blockers, haste/suspend creatures)
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (tax effect on most removal)
Kira, Great Glass-spinner (anti-removal)
Nezumi Graverobber (grave hate)
Vampire Hexmage (anti-planeswalker)
Keldon Vandals (artifact removal)
Manic Vandal (artifact removal)
Scavenging Ooze (grave hate)
Reclamation Sage (disenchant effect)
Uktabi Orangutan (artifact removal)
Judge's Familiar (taxes most removal including wraths)
Dryad Militant (grave hate)
Qasali Pridemage (disenchant effect)
Voice of Resurgence (anti countermagic, wrath resistance)
Tidehollow Sculler (targeted discard)
Deathrite Shaman (grave hate)
Phyrexian Revoker (anti-planeswalker, among other things)
Here are some I'm thinking of trying out or bringing back:
Containment Priest (anti-reanimation/Tinker)
Spirit of the Labyrinth (anti card draw)
Eidolon of the Great Revel (makes a lot of things hurt)
Ash Zealot (hurts flashback and some recursive creatures)
Lodestone Golem (a bit big to be a "bear", but taxes most spells)
Are there any more good ones that I'm missing that other people have had success with?
