Pardon my tone, but words would be useful here. I don't see how this would add anything to the cube, particuarly the elf.dec idea. I see what it does, I am familiar with the card, but also can't help but think "whiff". Most of the elves discussed are mana dorks, so this isn't generating a ton of value or card advantage IMHO. It also has a risk worse than SFM without equipment in the pool. At least SFM is a squire and at worst a body for 2 mana. This has the downside of a durdle for 4 mana. In the best of circumstances, I can't see anything this guy cheats out that generates tremendous upside.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
No-one's mentioned Quirion Ranger yet? I know it's old school and not a mana generator in and of itself, but I never run out of new ways to abuse its abilities.
I am also a big fan of Skyshroud Elf in slower formats where you have the time and space to bleed into multiple colours. He'll take your gobs of green mana and turn it white or red to taste (great for Elfball strategies and so forth).

i know this is a thread about elves, but i'd rather run scryb ranger over this guy. flying, pro blue & the flash could allow combat tricks
