I agree pick a keg while they are cheap. At 450 it and engineered explosives are riding the bench but would be in at 540. And especially as you go up in size, you want flexible cards to keep some of the high powered nasties like True Name Nemeis in check.
As a side note I only play tar pit and colonnade of the two color man lands but am always looking to fit mroe mono colored man lands in. I would much rather we get more of those in BfZ then enemy manlands.
Necro time! With the much awaited printing of the enemy manlands (Lumbering Falls et al.), how much better does Powder Keg become? For instance, right now I'm not running it at 600 (but I'm running Engineered Explosives and Ratchet Bomb) because I never felt the need for it, but I'm a fan on powerful answers, and this looks like a great safety valve for the increased number of manlands we will all likely be running...
I've been playing it since BFZ was announced so I'd have it at the ready to deal with new manlands. And considering the hexproof on the UG one, this is one of the only ways to answer it.
I'm likely bringing Keg or Nevvie's back to deal with the influx of five more manlands. I currently run Ratchet Bomb and EE. I'd actually prefer if we got another Pithing Needle variant instead, though.
I've already dusted off my promo Keg to add it to the cube in the next update. Between manlands (adding the WWK ones back in, plus the new ones) and tokens, it's time for a nice, elegant answer.
At 540 I'm only running Engineered Explosives / Blast Zone. Blast Zone being a land and scale more late game made it more preferable to me than Keg / Bomb.
I like Powder Keg more than Ratchet Bomb because it can off manlands. At 465, I'm running Keg, Explosives, and Blast Zone. Keg is definitely closest to the chopping block of those three.
As a side note I only play tar pit and colonnade of the two color man lands but am always looking to fit mroe mono colored man lands in. I would much rather we get more of those in BfZ then enemy manlands.
