I got the point, I was just kidding around. It's true that Ob Nix is not the most relevant card to hate out fetches compared to an Aven Mindcensor or a Leonin Arbiter, but I don't know if it's 'completely worthless'. A format with fetches would make him a lot more viable than a fetchless one. I'm not sure how any of this is too relevant to cube, though.
My guess on what Khans will be is that it is going to be a mix of wedge color theme with an artifact theme the same way that Innistrad was a graveyard theme with a tribal theme. A little bit of both.
What I really want is another white and red artifact killing creature along the lines of reclamation sage.
Ob Nixilis, Unshackled is also making me wonder if searching your library is suddenly going to become important again for some reason....
Let the fetchland hype begin!
Guilty as charged. I really got my hopes up before M15. My one World Championship Edition Windswept Heath is feeling awfully lonely. I do think that allied fetches are a better bet right now than enemy fast lands or man lands, though, because we just got enemy colored pain lands in M15. But hey, maybe they just wanted to print a demon that hoses Evolving Wilds.
Notice Ob Nixilis is one of the Designer Card meaning it was made by someone who did not know what we're getting in KTK.
I didn't realize that. It certainly seemed odd that they were adding something that made tutoring so difficult when there aren't really that many tutoring effects in Standard right now that it seemed like a plant. All the same, if it turns out that fetch lands aren't coming back I'd love to see them create a complete cycle of new duals that don't come into play tapped.

They said so, in the SDCC panel. Khans of Tarkir has five clans for the wedge color combinations. Each clan has its own mechanic, plus morph returns as a generic mechanic for the set.

I found the information, thank you! This is awesome to hear, I loved Morph as a kid, lots of nostalgia there.
I've always had a really tough time evaluating morph cards for some reason. Unless they're outright powerful and allow you to cheat on the mana curve (Exalted Angel), they're either swingy enough to be hard to evaluate (Willbender), or they demand you take the value of hidden information into account (Voidmage Prodigy).
My main wish is for cheaper/better dual lands of all sorts, particularly those that could make tri-colored cards feasible in cube. I'd also love a revitalization of the morph options and more support for big red (dragons or otherwise).
I wish for more cubable morph cards so the actual mechanic can be relevant, I mean morph loses so much of it's gameplay value when your opponent knows what creature you have face down, I'm actually exited to play a game in cube when my opponent plays something face down and I have to guess what it is. Other than that the usual I expect from a set, cheap aggro creatures, some more good removal and mana fixing.
Absolutely, and Ophiomancer would be a thematic fit for the Sultai (BUG) Brood too. And I very much believe we'll see a combat theme and token support. He could get a 'reprint' in here.
Oh and congrats to mrbrightside, who correctly called the Wedge theme in our podcast a few months ago. I was 50/50 on whether we'd see it, but I hoped so. My favourite shards/wedges are URG and BUG.
I don't particularly care for wedge cards or the return of morph; both have a low chance of being included in my Cube. I'm a bit surprised that they revisit morph at all, so I'm interested in how they approach it this time around.
RWB clan values speed. Sounds more like hasty weenies aggro than tokens army for me. My hope for another trio of one drops on that color just got way up.

A mono black planeswalker other than LotV that I'm interested in playing.
Interesting combat mechanics.
Barbarian-themed ***** everywhere.

Prophetic Flamespeaker says hello.
And Wedge colours! I don't run 3 colour cards, but I wouldn't completely rule out somehow using really good ones.

We'll probably get Wedge lands too, which will help C/Ubes out quite a bit.

Morph might well be the mechanic I hate the most. I always found it played slow and clunky. I'd prefer even Bands with Legends or Rampage2

A RWB Nacatl (probably red-based due to the way the factions of Khans are organized) would be sweet.

I would love this for our cube. We don't support blue or green aggro, so this thing would be amazing.

I said pushed.
Flamespeaker is fun and great but not terribly powerful. He barely earns his spot in my 500.
Maybe a preordain that draws cards in the "red" way?
